Every time I make spelling errors it makes atheists whine like they are in pain. How can a spelling error cause pain?

People like to feel smart by pointing out other peoples errors. Although if there are a ton of errors it is totally understandable.

If they get too bad they make the question incomprehensible. English is fairly forgiving in that respect - in other languages it can be a worse problem.
To me, the misspelling of atheist is wilful ignorance as it seems to be done always by idiotic religious people or trolls. OK it offends against the general rule of i before e except after c but consider how the word is constructed. The "the" part comes from the Greek theos, meaning god.
If someone can actually spell I can respect them more. And there IS a spelling checker here.

Every time I see a spelling error on Y!A, I lose that much more faith in public education. And besides, if the poster in question is constantly making spelling errors, they deserve to be ridiculed, as there is a free spell checker located to the right of the text field. And you don't have to do anything to activate it. If you misspell something, it automatically tells you so. (Not to mention, spelling errors disrupt the flow of text when you're reading and stick out like a sore thumb. It's really annoying.)

Atheists aren't the only ones annoyed by basic spelling and grammatical errors. If you're old enough to post questions and answers in a forum like this one, you ought to have a basic level of education that allows you to write properly in the English language. The occasional typo is one thing, but repeated spellings we all see here (such as "athiest") just open up the offender to mockery. That's why Yahoo Answers has an automatic spell checker now. There's just no good reason NOT to use it.

I don't know but I saw a message on here one time and an Atheist replied to it and said learn how to spell and something else but can't remember what it was but in his reply to the message he misspelled a couple words. This is not to say that all Atheists do this because I have seen others do the same thing and they were not Atheists.

They probably can't believe that someone would be so lazy as to not bother with the spell check. It takes 2 seconds and it's free.

If no one pointed out errors, how would anyone learn from their mistakes?
