Where does that figure come from?  I count twelve major religions, maybe a couple more, many of which are mutually compatible and are simultaneously held by the same people, and some of which deny they have the ultimate truth.  In fact, this all sounds like you've applied beliefs held by certain Christians across the board.  It really isn't like how you've described and I really have no idea where you got the idea there are eight thousand of them.  How?

The answer of course depends on the founders of the various religions. One founder, and only one, clearly demonstrated that He was God, by constantly doing things only God could do. He, God, founded one Church, said it was to remain one, and promised that one Church "The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth", and "Whatsoever you bind on Earth is bound in Heaven", and "He who hears you hears Me". Why would I be interested in any of the thousands of conflicting manmade churches, when God Himself has guaranteed the fullness of His truth in the one Church He provided for us?

That symbol is fitting because false religion, while claiming fidelity to God, has consorted with the rulers of the world to gain power and wealth. “The kings of the earth committed sexual immorality with her,” according to Revelation 18:9. The term “Babylon” is appropriate too, because many false religious teachings and practices, such as the immortality of the soul, triune gods, and occultism, have roots in ancient Babylon, a city steeped in false religion and superstition.  Isaiah 47:1, 8-11.

None of them have any compelling evidence   that they are right. Logic and Science say all of them are wrong. Paul uses fiction about his pet god as evidence for it. That is circular reasoning, special pleading and argument from ignorance which are logical fallacies.. Some people may look at criminals that claim Islam and look at people who really practice it and claim that the latter is not practicing the religion. They put their faith in the actions of criminals and claim that Islam persuades their behavior which is a lie. Anyone who has read the Qur'an and understood what they read would know that Islam unites all people as it says "O men! Behold, We have created you all out of a male and a female, and have made you into nations and tribes, so that you might come to know one another..." Qur'an 49:13.

Right based on what?  You have to establish what you believe the truth to be, then go from there. For example, if you’re a Christian your foundation for the truth is the Bible, Muslim the Koran, etc. Our God given free will allows us to do some research so we can choose what we believe to be the religion that God approves of, if that is what we are seeking. The religion that Our Creator approves of. What does the religion teach? Is it consistent with the foundation mentioned above. Become familiar with the foundation then I would go from there. However, there have been, over the centuries, many peoples who were sent messengers or warners and those people had some faith in a singular deity, One Almighty God, Lord and Creator of all mankind and all that exists both seen and unseen. All things, both past and future are known and there is therefore no other who can rival Him and no other who deserves all trust, worship and praise. 



The three paths which can lay claim to being 'right' are Judaism (which rejected Christ), Christianity (the Church of Christ) and Islam (which, remarkably, bears witness to the Christ). When I say that it is remarkable that Islam bears witness to Jesus being the Christ, come in the flesh, it only appears so to many who don't have the knowledge of the scriptures which explain why that must be so. Jesus was the Christ so therefore any religion which says otherwise is not a true religion, i.e. it would be a false one.





The scriptures, combined, are like a massive puzzle. There are tantalizing clues within those scriptures which, when put into context, provide one of the most miraculous and powerful pictures imaginable and hold the key to life itself.



Only when you are able to piece all of those bits of the overall puzzle together does the truth manifest and that very much includes random, almost inexplicable, one liners within the Bible. The Qur'an provides answers to all the unanswered questions of the previous scriptures and there is only one possible explanation. Many refuse to accept all of those scriptures and yet when they are combined, only then can you see the picture clearly enough to understand. 



Many refuse to accept those scriptures because they have made a choice otherwise and are rebellious and desiring of many things which do not include salvation. The scriptures warn us of such people hundreds or even thousands of years in advance. The only thing those scriptures haven't given us is the exact names of those people. Do we need to know that? No, we don't. We know their fate and that is all that they will become ... their fate.

Making my family hate me even.

(5) Do its members truly love one another? Jesus said: “By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves.” (John 13:35) Such love reaches across racial, social, and national boundaries, drawing people together in genuine brotherhood. So strong is this love that it sets them apart as being truly different. When the nations go to war, who have enough love for their Christian brothers in other lands that they refuse to take up arms and kill them? That is what early Christians did.



(6) Is it truly separate from the world? Jesus said that his true followers would be “no part of the world.” (John 15:19) To worship God in a manner that he approves requires that we keep ourselves “without spot from the world.” (Jas. 1:27) Can that be said of those whose clergy and other members are involved in politics, or whose lives are largely built around materialistic and fleshly desires?—1 John 2:15-17.



(7) Are its members active witnesses concerning God’s Kingdom? Jesus foretold: “This good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.” (Matt. 24:14) What religion is really proclaiming God’s Kingdom as the hope of mankind instead of encouraging people to look to human rulership to solve their problems? Has your religion equipped you to share in this activity, and to do it from house to house as Jesus taught his apostles to do?—Matt. 10:7, 11-13; Acts 5:42; 20:20.

Yes, and all of them with gods that are invisible, can't talk, can't write, and no one has seen any of them do anything that can be verified by unbiased observers.  Religion is the biggest fraud on Earth.
