The bible can only contain so much information.john 21:25 says that if all the things jesus did were written down in full detail, the world could not contain all the scrolls written. In reality what he did as an adult was more important for us to know .there is some info on his childhood in the bible.. Interestingly the recognized historian Josephus mentions Jesus twice in his manuscripts if you need any other proof than the bible that Jesus was a real person.

The Bible tells us a lot when Mary asked Jesus at the wedding feast to take care of the fact they ran out of wine. Jesus supernaturally (spiritually) turns the water into fine, aged wine and the family's honor is kept. The master of ceremony kept the recipients from getting drunk on wine, yet made sure all who came had wine. Mary knew that He had provided her needs and He would provide all of our needs when we ask Him. A woman cannot raise a gifted and talented child without knowing it. Mary knew the capabilities of Jesus which far exceeded any gifted and talented child that we know today. Scripture tells us "all good gifts come from above."

The really important thing about Jesus before He started His ministry on Earth is stated in the opening verses of John's gospel account. After you've read them, then you will understand why there was no need to detail anything much about His childhood.

The Bible does not contain a biography about anybody, let alone Jesus of Nazareth. The reason for the way the Bible is written is to show us God's self-revelations about Himself and His purposes. Humans figure in the purposes of God but until they receive God's word respectfully, they will never understand what it means. And Jesus is "the Word of God" (John 1:1 & 14) who became flesh in order to draw people to the Father in Heaven. It is always odd when people who don't believe any God exists start criticizing the written account of what God has already revealed to us, culminating in the person of Jesus Christ.

It would pose a problem if they made Jesus out to be just like an average ordinary child, so its probably better to silence critics through fear, there is plenty of people who wrote concerning Jesus Childhood, not sure there are any reliable sources, but there is certainly interesting evidence that Jesus was in India in his earlier years.

2 Timothy 3:16, 17 reads thusly: All scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, and for disciplining in righteous in order that the man of God may be fully competent and completely equipped for every good work.

That being said, there is no meaningful way in which Jesus' infancy and childhood would have a bearing on that. He was an infant, a baby, a toddler, a kid, a teenager. He learned to crawl, to toddle. He wet himself, he had his diaper changed, he spit up milk, he giggled, cooed and gurgled. He gave precious toothless smiles, tugged on his sister’s curls, went through puberty, started growing a beard, learned his adoptive father’s trade, learned the Mosaic law, excelled at Bible study.

He was a kid. A child. The formative years, besides the generalities of the above, hold no bearing for us, our salvation, our learning the truth, or the giving of glory to God in any meaningful way.

, a Boy who grew into a Man may very well have existed in the region of YAUDAYA

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE such a person was named JESUS ..

.since the LETTER "J" was not invented

until 500 years ago about 1524 by Gian TRISSINO

now some people may DISPUTE if a person named JESUS existed no one in that time period had a Name that was spelled with a "J"

No JOSEPH the father

no Joseph sold by his brothers .

no JOB no JACOB

no JERICHO no JEZEBEL

no JUDEA rather a region called YAUDAYA the Nirmud tablet K 3751 dated to 735 BCE is the first indication of a place called YAUDAYA or IA-U-DA-A-A

no JERUSALEM rather URUSALIM

what people dispute is the SUPERNATURAL PROPOSITIONS

Little is known about Jesus’ childhood, but one incident is noteworthy.

When Jesus was 12 years old, his parents took him on their annual visit to Jerusalem for the Passover. While there, he spent quite some time at the temple, “sitting in the midst of the teachers and listening to them and questioning them.” Moreover, “all those listening to him were in constant amazement at his understanding and his answers.”

Yes, young Jesus could not only ask thought-provoking, spiritually oriented questions but also give intelligent answers that amazed others. (Luke 2:41-50)

Please revamp your syntax. You do not ‘need’ that information; you ‘want’ to have it, which is not the same thing. You should have learned the difference by about age 7/8

We know of his visit to Jerusalem for his Bar Mitzvah, and of the public ministry. Yes, to know more would be interesting, but non-essential in terms of the greater picture

He was brought up in Nazareth. His familiarity there was the very reason why His neighbors would not believe. His childhood isn’t relevant to your salvation, and so it is not narrated. If it was important God would have given it to us.

If you haven't read the bible you're not gonna know. You having the need to know is nothing more than you being a control freak because you "need" to know you're making yourself feel that way you'll find if you calm down and let it go or at least try to find out on your own that the feeling you have may not bother you as much. That's way more productive than asking a question to argue with strangers on the internet.

Jesus is growing up in Nazareth, a rather small, unimportant city. When he is perhaps two years of age, Jesus is brought here from Egypt by Joseph and Mary. When Jesus was 12 years old, his family made the long trip to Jerusalem. As he grew up, Jesus increased in wisdom and in favor with God and men. This research is common knowledge. If we are honestly seeking the truth do your research and find the answers to your questions. For instance, why did Jesus go to Jerusalem and what happened to him them after 12 years old?

There is limited information about Jesus' childhood in the Bible but more important is what he accomplished when he became a man and the fact that he gave his life for us so that we can be saved from our imperfect state and have hope to live forever. Everyone is born with a clean slate. It's what we choose to do with our lives that defines us, the reputation that we make for ourselves. That's what people remember the most. In Jesus case, the loyalty in doing God's will. It is something that we should all imitate.

Luke 2 New International Version (NIV)

The Birth of Jesus

2 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.

4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,

and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

21 On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.

Jesus Presented in the Temple

22 When the time came for the purification rites required by the Law of Moses, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord 23 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, “Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord”[b]), 24 and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: “a pair of doves or two young pigeons.”[c]

25 Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him. 26 It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. 27 Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required, 28 Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying:

29 “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised,

you may now dismiss[d] your servant in peace.

30 For my eyes have seen your salvation,

31 which you have prepared in the sight of all nations:

32 a light for revelation to the Gentiles,

and the glory of your people Israel.”

33 The child’s father and mother marveled at what was said about him. 34 Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: “This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, 35 so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too.”

36 There was also a prophet, Anna, the daughter of Penuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, 37 and then was a widow until she was eighty-four.[e] She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. 38 Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.

39 When Joseph and Mary had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth. 40 And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on him.

The Boy Jesus at the Temple

41 Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Festival of the Passover. 42 When he was twelve years old, they went up to the festival, according to the custom. 43 After the festival was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. 44 Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. 45 When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him. 46 After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. 47 Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. 48 When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you.”

49 “Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?”[f] 50 But they did not understand what he was saying to them.

51 Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart. 52 And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.

The Bible states that the world could not contain all the information concerning Jesus, so a book definitely would not be able to contain information about his childhood. We have some vital information which is sufficient, the most important aspects of his life deal with his baptism and everything that happened afterwards.......

“There are also, in fact, many other things that Jesus did, which if ever they were written in full detail, I suppose the world itself could not contain the scrolls written” -John 21:25.

The record of Jesus’ early life is very brief. Of the first years of Jesus’ life nothing is known except that “the young child continued growing and getting strong, being filled with wisdom, and God’s favor continued upon him.” (Luke 2:40) He regularly attended the synagogue services each Sabbath. He was educated, as is shown by his ability to find and read sections from the Sacred Writings, but he did not attend the rabbinic schools of “higher learning.” (Luke 4:16; John 7:14-16)

You are actually completely wrong about 'not knowing anything about the childhood of Jesus.'

We actually know every single thing He did, every day, every week, month and year right up until His ministry began at the age of thirty. GOD wrote His sacred narratives with the anticipation that it would be read by thinking people, not spoon fed mental infants. Basic logic can fill in every gap of detail, which is why GOD saw no need to fill them in for us. In order to see all the detail, you have to demonstrate respect for what the sacred narratives do say, which explains why you see no evidence at all for what Jesus did as a child. You obviously have none and your secular education has taught you to be spoon fed facts.

The sacred scriptures inform us that Jesus perfectly obeyed a divine legal system called 'Torah.' Torah has exact physical requirements for every day of the year, every week of the year, every month of the year and even descriptions of what people are doing every seven years as the overall social cycles recur and reset. This means that we know exactly what those obeying Torah are doing on each one of these days, even hour by hour and minute by minute, (if our knowledge of Torah is profound enough).

Mine just happens to be.

However, since your question is much more general and foolishly doubts Christ's very existence, I won't waste time filling page after page with the intricate daily and hourly details of His childhood.

Instead, I will simply tell you that Jesus practiced a very strict version of Torah called the 'Nazarite Torah.' This is why He was called 'Jesus of Nazareth' or 'Y'heshua 'eth Nazyir,' which means, 'Jesus Who dwells among the Nazarites' in Aramaic Hebrew.

The Nazarites had their own 'town' because a person could not live by their strict codes in the typical Israelite encampment. They followed something called a 'kumrot,' which is like an extra cushion against possible legal violations. For example, every Nazarite house had a parapet or retaining wall on the roof to prevent careless workers or visitors from falling off. Torah only commands that a man never allow his neighbor to be injured in this way. It doesn't address how to actually do it. Nazarites didn't drink alcohol even though Torah allows it, Torah only says not to be drunk and careless. Nazarites don't cut their hair or even touch dad animals, both of which can lead to injuries or uncleanness and disease when done carelessly.

The 'Nazarite Torah' is temporary and culminates with a visit to the Temple to finish the strict observances, so Jesus stopped being a Nazarite right at the beginning of His ministry. His cousin John the Baptist was also a Nazarite. They were raised in a town way out on the outskirts of the Israeli deserts and were the first community that foreign travelers saw when entering Israel. They raised unwanted children and adopted them. They accepted anyone who was willing to abide by their laws. Jesus was an 'unwanted child' in a way because His parents left Israel for Egypt when He was an infant in order to protect Him. When they returned, they were 'outsiders' and the Nazarites were the only community willing to accept them, at least until they were settled and proved themselves as valued community members again.

Every one of these stories has intricate details. Scripture does speak of His interactions just before His Bar Mitzvah when He impressed the Rabbis with His profound knowledge of scripture and unique questions. They were astounded that a 'carpenter's son' had such knowledge. Even being a 'carpenter' meant something very specific, unlike any use of our term for woodworkers or masons. Jesus practiced a religious art related to Torah in which He spent much of His time constructing 'sukkot,' which are tabernacles made from found materials. This was done under inspiration, so that is how the boy learned woodworking and masonry arts. Each tabernacle was increasingly impressive and was a 'tent of meeting' in which He communed with angels of GOD, learning the lessons of Torah. We get a glimpse into the culmination of this art on the 'Mount of Transfiguration' when He was visited in one of these tabernacles by Moses and Elijah, (having brought Peter, James and John as witnesses), the sacred persons known to mystical Rabbis as arriving to help 'complete' the teaching of such an advanced student. That was the effective end of Christ's learning and marked the beginning of His formal teaching...

I am already rambling on and on just with 'generalities.' I hope it is obvious how much detail is actually revealed about the life of Jesus. I haven't even introduced the daily routines of Torah into the discussion. However, I will end here with my overall point thoroughly made. Jesus was a VERY real person. Anyone doubting it is being deceived, (2 John 1:7).

The Bible isn't a biography. You can get some information from Pliny, Josephus & a few others (Pilate had a historian. I forget his name now). But, the Christ didn't do much out of the normal growing up. We know that He could read blank Hebrew & that he could write. He spoke Aramaic & probably Latin & Greek. By that, we know that He was educated & a carpenter by trade. His childhood isn't important. His 31/2 year ministry is.

Jesus was "lying low" in the only place the devil would never think to look for him - Nazareth - patiently waiting for the time of his public ministry to arrive. Then, in three short years, all the Messianic prophesies had been fulfilled and mankind's redemption from perpetual slavery to Satan, sin and death had been accomplished. There's nothing else we need to know.

YES, JESUS IS REAL...…..his earlier life we can only imagine was assisting his mother and brothers/sisters with the work Joseph did......to help feed the family and be a good brother and child. Not much is mentioned about Joseph I only imagine he was older than Mary, don't know for sure but good Jewish family work together.

Besides CHRIST, time was to begin a bit later. Just an idea only about what He was doing. In Heaven this also will be better understood I am sure.

From the Infancy Gospel of Thomas (2nd century):

When this boy Jesus was five years old he was playing at the ford of a brook, and he gathered together into pools the water that flowed by, and made it at once clean, and commanded it by his word alone. But the son of Annas the scribe was standing there with Joseph; and he took a branch of a willow and (with it) dispersed the water which Jesus had gathered together. When Jesus saw what he had done, he was enraged and said to him: "You insolent, godless dunderhead, what harm did the pools and the water do to you? See, now you also shall wither like a tree and shall bear neither leaves nor root nor fruit." And immediately that lad withered up completely; and Jesus departed and went into Joseph's house. But the parents of him that was withered took him away, bewailing his youth, and brought him to Joseph and reproached him: "What a child you have who does such things." After this again he went through the village, and a lad ran and knocked against his shoulder. Jesus was exasperated and said to him: "You shall not go further on your way," and the child immediately fell down and died. But some, who saw what took place, said: "From where does this child spring, since every word is an accomplished deed?"

Here is one more example from the Arabic Infancy Gospel:

One day, when Jesus was running about and playing with some children, he passed by the workshop of a dyer called Salem. They had in the workshop many cloths which he had to dye. The Lord Jesus went into the dyer's workshop, took all these cloths, and put them into a cauldron full of indigo. When Salem came and saw that the cloths were spoiled, he began to cry aloud and asked the Lord Jesus, saying: "What have you done to me, son of Mary? You have ruined my reputation in the eyes of all the people of the city; for everyone orders a suitable colour for himself, but you have come and spoiled everything." And the Lord Jesus replied: "I will change for you the colour of any cloth which you wish to be changed"; and he immediately began to take the cloths out of the cauldron, each of them dyed as the dyer wished, until he had taken them all out. When the Jews saw this miracle and wonder, they praised God.

After such stories, the account in Luke 2:41–52 seems a bit drab—and that is precisely what speaks in favor of its authenticity. It does not appear to be motivated by a desire to overplay Jesus' uniqueness. The claim to uniqueness is much more subtle and that accords with the way Jesus acted most of the time. In addition the Greek language of the story is almost certainly a translation of the Semitic language of Palestine, which means that it was not created, like many of the legends, in Greek-speaking areas far removed from the land of the eyewitnesses. On the contrary, it is Jewish in content and language and, therefore, probably originated in Palestine; and the most likely source for the story is Mary.

The legends, so to speak, are in "The Gospel Of Thomas" and "The Nativity Of Mary" although not "accepted books" by organized religion.

Spoiler Alert

II. 1 This little child Jesus when he was five years old was playing at the ford of a brook: and he gathered together the waters that flowed there into pools, and made them straightway clean, and commanded them by his word alone. 2 And having made soft clay, he fashioned thereof twelve sparrows. And it was the Sabbath when he did these things (or made them). And there were also many other little children playing with him.

3 And a certain Jew when he saw what Jesus did, playing upon the Sabbath day, departed straightway and told his father Joseph: Lo, thy child is at the brook, and he hath taken clay and fashioned twelve little birds, and hath polluted the Sabbath day. 4 And Joseph came to the place and saw: and cried out to him, saying: Wherefore doest thou these things on the Sabbath, which it is not lawful to do? But Jesus clapped his hands together and cried out to the sparrows and said to them: Go! and the sparrows took their flight and went away chirping. 5 And when the Jews saw it they were amazed, and departed and told their chief men that which they had seen Jesus do.

IV. 1 After that again he went through the village, and a child ran and dashed against his shoulder. And Jesus was provoked and said unto him: Thou shalt not finish thy course (lit. go all thy way). And immediately he fell down and died. But certain when they saw what was done said: Whence was this young child born, for that every word of his is an accomplished work? And the parents of him that was dead came unto Joseph, and blamed him, saying: Thou that hast such a child canst not dwell with us in the village: or do thou teach him to bless and not to curse: for he slayeth our children.

He was just some kid, among thousands of other kids we know nothing about.

Its importance didn't outweigh what was recorded. The most significant events took place during his adulthood, and even then not all of it was written down. It was noted that much had occurred, and there wasn't enough room to record it all at the time. (John 21:25)

there is nothing written about the character after say the 13th birthday until the ministry is alleged to have started - say age 30 - thats 18 YEARS

So there is NO reason to suppose that the guy who started ministering was the same person as the child at 13

THATS problem 1)

THEN 2 guys reported the birth 1 going into detail of who was present and why they were present as if personal accounts

So they go to all that trouble then forget about the guy for 18 YEARS before they start reporting again

I would just love it if a christian would try to explain - WHY after going to great lengths to write about a birth over a period of say 7 days - then write NOTHING about that person for 18 YEARS

THATS problem 2

(I have a damned good explanation - but would love to hear a christian one)

That is not our business , Let him have a nice private childhood . He had no idea of his identity until about the age of 24. , when the Christ , or Lord Maitreya began to overshadow the Disciple Jesus.

A person can know many truths about the Son of God by reciting the rosary every day with care.

There is plenty of Jesus' childhood. From Jesus being born, to when his parent left and had not realized that Jesus was not with them. They had to go back and spent a long time looking for Jesus. Jesus was with other Jewish Rabbis.

There is a little information about his childhood, and for example, his early parent, was a carpenter and the scriptures say that Jesus was an obediant child and probably learned his father's trade. He was also know, as a child, to be very versed in the scriptures and often surprised the priests, but you see, the point of Jesus, was not about his childhood in detail, but his spiritual side and the purpose of coming to the earth as a perfect man, to preach to the nations.

There is no such need. Scripture makes a couple of minor comments related to his youth, but no real detail until he began his 3.5 year ministry at age 30.

Luk 2:40 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

Luk 2:42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.

Luk 2:51 ¶ And he came to Nazareth, and was subject unto his parents: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

Luk 2:52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

>>Update: @Anonymous: that's nothing, indeed. Explain why "there is no such need". I have the need.<<

Then you'll have to take that up with God when he is judging you for eternity in either heaven or hell. The Holy Bible is all we have until then. Tread lightly though. Hell is just a word away.

Mat 12:36 For I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
