i hand them out to interested and non-interested friends and family. I hand them out to strangers and i put them in baggies with a couple pennies and bury them in the sand so that stranger with metal detectors can find them and i put them in the beer cartons at walmart God gave us the great commission he wants everyone to know him and not just our family and friends

Religion is a private issue which is shared publicly when you gather in community and fellowship with your fellow believers at places like church or bible study groups.

If you want to have a bumper sticker or a t-shirt or wear a wristband professing your faith then by all means do so. However I have always been offended by those who turn even the briefest of moments into an occasion to preach or educate those around them to the word of God.

I believe such people tend to do more damage and drive people away then bring the wayward children of God home.

I do. The tract I hand out most often is online at http://www.catholic.com/library/Pillar.asp

Tracts don't work for me; I think when people get too into the giving out of tracts, they begin treating people like statistics. Mark Cahill is a semi-famous Christian that spends tons of time giving out tracts on the streets, and he encourages others to do the same; he came and preached at my school, and I just didn't like the man. It's true that a well done tract MAY lead somebody to church, and from their to salvation, but it seems like the majority of tracts are warnings and guilt-rakers, not true evangelism. They seem to do more hurt than good. My friend's a waiter at a resurant, and there was this group of people that came in. They basically treated her like crap, and they were loud and obnoxious to everybody else. When they finally left, she went to clean their table, and she saw a twenty dollar bill on the table for her. She picked the damned thing up and it was actually a tract. I can only imagine how badly that would drive a non Christian away from the church. To me, there's only one way to spread the gospel; person on person. After all, isn't our religion based on a relationship rather than a set of rules?

As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, of course I do. And no, I never "force" anything on anybody.

I do find it incredibly funny though, that there are many on Yahoo Answers! that profess to follow Jesus and his teachings yet would never deem it appropriate to proselytize. Apparently they want to know "What Would Jesus Do?" but they can't be bothered with actually finding out, for that is exactly what Jesus "did" for three and a half years, proselytized.

GOD SAYS TO GO INTO ALL THE WORLD & PREACH THE GOSPEL.

WE AS CHRISTIANS ARE OUT TO SAVE LOST SOULS. NOT ONLY FAMILY & FRIENDS. IT'S EASIER B/CUZ WE KNOW THEM. BUT GOD WANTS TO TAKE US OUT OF OUR COMFORT ZONE. WHEN I OUTREACH, WE TOUCH THE LOST , STRANGERS, HOMELESS, BOUND TO DRUGS & ALCOHOL.

IT'S GOD SPEAKING THRU US, HE'S IN CONTROL. NOT US.

U DON'T HAVE TO STAND AT THE CORNER, GO DOOR TO DOOR.

GO TO A SHOPPING CENTER PARKING LOT, A PARK, WHERE THERE'S PEOPLE AROUND. DON'T B/AFRAID OF REJECTION. THEY'RE NOT REJECTING U, THEY'RE REJECTING GOD.

WE'RE THE LIGHT UNTO THIS DARKENED WORLD, WE HAVE THE ANSWERS, HOPE, JOY , LIGHT TO THIS DARKENED WORLD.

WE HAVE THE KEY TO SALVATION, WE HAVE THE KEY TO ETERNAL LIFE.

DON'T BE AFRAID, GOD'S WITH YOU.

REMEMBER: IN THE END, WE'RE ALL GOING TO BE JUDGED. AND GOD WILL ASK US ALL: WHAT DID U DO W/MY SON JESUS CHRIST? MEANING HOW MANY LIVES DID U TOUCH, REACH OUT TO, WITNESS TO ABOUT SALVATION, CHRIST?

I try to spread the Word wherever I go. That's what we are instructed to do as Christians.

I not only do this with family and friends, I also go out on a regular occasion and witness to strangers. Plus I always have materials in my truck so if I feel the leading of Holy Spirit I can give materials to anyone on the spot.

I often times am ask, do you have something I could read on that subject - and then I provide precise and easy to understand material - and I usually leave my name and number in it so they can call me with questions - as sometimes I may be at a dr's office or in the grocery store and a conversation get started - a lot of times I give them my web address and ask them to give me a call or an email if they are truly interested in whatever the subject matter has been. I have never been a salesmen for Jesus - I try to be a living light, an example, a smile, an encourager - an emulator of what He did and was to those around him - as the old wives tale says - honey draws more flies than vinegar -- well, someone trying to push something at me is like vinegar - someone offering me a smile, an extra hand, a genuine apology for running into me, or giving my spot in line as they only have two items and I have a cart full, is honey.

Well i use to do street evangelism with tracs and we kinda just handed them out to who ever God lead us to talk to but first before pushing tracs in there face we would get to know them a little bit and sometimes wer didn't even get a chance to share the word of God eaither but thats ok as long as a seed is planted good luck and God bless

Yes, I keep them handy but I do sometimes meet strangers and am able to minister to them then follow it up with a tract or a mini new testament (John) and my business card.

Oh yeah, and I do get them from pocketpower!

I'm not a Christian, but my father is, and he and his group do the whole standing-on-the-corner-with-signs thing. I used to, back when I was younger and still lived with the clan (they're kinda crazy).

Kudos to you for *not* pressing yourself onto random people. I wish more people would take a cue from those like you.

I don't use them and I don't recommend them. If someone is truly interested, then why not sit down with a cup of coffee and have a conversation? If it's considered important enough it shouldn't be condensed down to 5 easy steps.

I have put them where I felt non believers would find them. (bathroom stalls, gas pumps, top of newspaper stand, checkout counters and phone booths). Now I just use this site mostly to spread the Word. Jesus loves you.

I give out tracks to anybody and everybody, regardless of who they are. If they refuse to take it, then I don't force it on them.

well its good to spread the word of God but dont FORCE your religion on to others..its ok to talk and to try to get them to come but they are leading their own lives so they must come on their own.

I only do so when asked or confronted. I never push Christianity on others.

Jesus never demanded. He persuaded.
