Let's ban christianity, instead. Nah, let's ban the idea of banning things and just deal with the stupid people the way they are, mostly by ignoring them.

Anyway, what do you do when you actually have 666 of something? Do you refer to them as 665+1? How would we even have this conversation? How would you enforce the ban?

I suspect there's a certain amount of levity in your question, still, there are some fairly stupid congressmen out there, and if they happen to read your question, they could potentially decide to write a bill, and we'll all have to waste time dealing with it.

Well it's an expression of Man saying man is god. That happens all the time. It doesn't frighten me as a Christian so I don't see how it would any one else. Man saying he/she is the great "I AM" is not unusual, that's what happened with the golden calf. As I'm sure you know already.

I know this is supposed to be a dig at Christians like me. And I expect you have great fun in your head imagining us running about like headless chickens every time you have what you think is a clever little jibe. But really your jolly japes are not such a worry.

Anyway if you are gonna give anyone points I would just like to point out. I quite like a few points now and again. And also I am very fond of trees.

More Christians need to study what their scripture actually says... the idea that "666" is the "number of the beast" is a product of popular myth and mistranslation. Most of the earliest known "scriptural" documents surviving clearly say it is "616", or in some cases "656"...

No.

Christians activley seek things to be upset about.,

Why? That's sounds stupid.

Well its because individual Christians are not especially good people. They are normal, everyday sinners and if they get a chance to huff and puff and be angrily, indignantly Christian then they have proved themselves.

That's it. 666 is an arbitrary number with no real meaning. Who believes in the Devil anyway?

How would one ban a number? So no.

Also, the "number" could also be 663. 666 sounds cooler.

Some people are too stupid to be allowed to vote; and the American South is the Mecca of ignorance—and those of us who grew up there are more aware of that fact than anyone.

They must be high on crack. I'm a Christian who wants to see the number 666 because it means the end is near. And I like the idea of the end being near. At least the Atheists should be happy to see it, because they will only have a short time left to complain about the God who would deliver them if they turned to Him.

Of course they wont, the Bible says they won't.

Revelation 16:9

They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him.

It could only happen in America (I hope!) It's not the stupidest thing I've ever heard, but it has to be in the Top Ten.

My phone number actually has 666 at the very end XD If we had to ban it, I don't quite now how we would get telephone communication directly to the home!

Screw the whiny Christians in this case.

sounds rather tragic... and superstitious. They've got no grounds to complain about so-called 'pagan superstition' if they hate that number so much!

D'you reckon I should tell 'em that the Number of the Beast is actually 616, so they've just gone through all this palaver for nothing?

You don't understand the number by the question you ask.

It is only the number of man.
