Who's right and who's wrong? Perhaps you should read some articles on behavior modification/control among organized religion. See the links below for a better understanding on this subject matter.

Since only 144,000 will make it to heaven the remainder of the Jehovah's Witnesses are not Christian.

The definition/etymonolgy of the word Christian is the following:

Etymology-Christian-

The Greek word Χριστιανός (christianos)—meaning "follower of Christ"—comes from Χριστός (christos)—meaning "anointed one"[5]—with an adjectival ending borrowed from Latin to denote adhering to, or even belonging to, as in slave ownership.[6] In the Greek Septuagint, christos was used to translate the Hebrew מָשִׁיחַ (Mašíaḥ, messiah), meaning "[one who is] anointed."[7]

The term Christian means belonging to Christ and is derived from the Greek noun kristos, which means anointed one. This Greek term is a translation of the Hebrew mashiah or Messiah. The term mashiah is in turn derived from khriein which means to anoint or to rub. Christ, which is written in Latin as christus and in Old English as crist, became the preferred form of address for < a href="/nazareth.html">Nazareth, Jesus of Nazareth, and overtook other terms of description for Jesus, such as the Old English term haeland, meaning healer.

I have no information regarding Mormons, not familiar with that sect.

2 Timothy 3:5 - Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

2 Timothy 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

In the 18th century Americans started moving west and three institutions went with them. There was vaudeville, traveling entertainment. There was lyceum, traveling education and culture. And there was the itinerant preacher, offering a new style of preaching called "hellfire and brimstone". It was very entertaining, only loosely based on scripture, and pastors didn't even try to compete. Instead they switched to public morality and philosophy. Eventually an entire generation grew up not knowing the first thing about the religion they claimed to believe. Since about 1970 a few people have dedicated themselves to rediscovering what the bible actually says, but there is considerable resistance based on "faith of our fathers", which is to say a famously brainless devotion to faith for its own sake. In the meantime a flood of new "designer" religions have been invented.

Read the bible from Romans to 2 Thessalonians over and over until you start to remember what it says. Keep reading until you start to notice it says some things that are different from what you have been told it says. Keep reading until you figure out that the bible is more reliable than those people who told you different things.

Here is a book to help you study the bible. It's a free download and you can buy a hard copy at any bible book store.

It comes down to two things:

Mormons believe Jesus and satan are brothers

JWs believe Jesus is the archangel Michael

People who read and follow the Bible teach and believe that Jesus is God

The other major contention is

Mormons follow the book of Mormon

JWs follow the Watchtower and Awake magazines and other publications

Christians follow the Bible alone and believe it is inspired by the Holy Spirit. JWs teach that their entire organization is led by the Spirit of God and that it, alone, is the only means of salvation. The bible teaches that Jesus, alone, is the only means of salvation.

Christians don't differ on their beliefs but some claiming christianity do.

You could also ask: Why are there so many translations to the Bible when they all claim it to be infallible?

The main reason Mormons are considered not Christian is to settle the argument. In other words if Mormons are not Christian, then nuff said, no sense even investigating it's claims. Critics try to use this tactic to stop people from looking into the Church.

Fortunately it completely backfires most of the time, once a person realizes that Mormons are Christian, that they read the New Testament, they follow Jesus, they have pictures of Jesus in their homes, and rely completely upon Jesus for forgiveness and salvation... well they realize they have been lied to. And when a person realizes they have been lied to they tend to distance themselves from the liar, and associate with the truth.

So for those who have been deceived into thinking that Mormons are not Christian, I would encourage you to seek a different source for information.

Most Christians aren't "real" Christians.

The Christians don't understand the meaning of "jesus'" life or who he is even though they fervently believe they do.

Christians are divided because they are not part of the Messiah's body. The Messiah's body is not divided as the Scriptures reveal. This is one way you know Christians falsely claim to have/know the truth.

Note:

The Mystery religions offer many faiths to believe, Christians and it's sects are only a small portion of it.

We are all earnestly seeking to know the Lord our God. JW's have a much different view of Jesus Christ than Latter-day Saints.

We disagree because we are all human and have different opinions, and Christ has allowed us the freedom to choose.

My suggestion is sincerely seeking God the Father in prayer as directed by the Lord Jesus Christ, and earnestly pray for help to come to know the truth as it exists in HIM.

May the Lord bless you.

well, it is all about interpretation and intent. Now the intent of the true word of God is to see that man is not deceived by satan. The intent of bibles written to support a certain religion or it's belief that is impuned into the word of God, twisted, added to or taken away from does not qualify as following the beliefs of Christians according to the word of God, the Holy Bible.

Judgement starts at the pulpit on these kinds of issues, and those who are not feeding the Sheep as Jesus instructed will receive their reward for misguiding and leading God

I don't say that because I don't know another person's heart, and how they have given their lives to Christ Jesus.

I can only speak for myself. The Word of God is my final Authority, and I believe everything it says!

We use the Holy Bible to define Christianity. And these two groups do not always correspond to scripture. The Mormons for example rely heavily upon their Book of Mormon.

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Quran 5:17 translation

They have certainly disbelieved who say that God is Christ, the son of Mary. Say, "Then who could prevent God at all if He had intended to destroy Christ, the son of Mary, or his mother or everyone on the earth?" And to God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them. He creates what He wills, and God is over all things competent.

Quran 5:66 translation

"If only they [i.e. Christians] had stood fast by the Law, the Gospel, and all the revelation that was sent to them from their Lord, they would have enjoyed happiness from every side. There is from among them a party on the right course, but many of them follow a course that is evil"

Quran 5:72 translation

They have certainly disbelieved who say, " God is the Messiah, the son of Mary" while the Messiah has said, "O Children of Israel, worship God, my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates others with God - God has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers.

Quran 5:73 translation

They have certainly disbelieved who say, " God is the third of three." And there is no god except one god. And if they do not desist from what they are saying, there will surely afflict the disbelievers among them a painful punishment.

Quran 5:82 translation

You will surely find the most intense of the people in animosity toward the believers [to be] the Jews and polytheists; and you will find the nearest of them in affection to the believers those who say, "We are Christians." That is because among them are researchers and hermits and because they are not arrogant.

Quran 5:116 translation

And [beware the Day] when God will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, 'Take me and my mother as deities besides God?'" He will say, "Glory be to you! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, you would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within yourself. Indeed, it is you who is knower of the unseen.

Which "scripture", that's the key--their "self-revised" versions? Because the one that I believe, directly inspired of God, says theirs is not what HE said. But He does love them, regardless, and wishes them to see Him and worship HIm as He REALLY is. Not as they would like Him to be. Because even if they were told wrong, and they believed it? They are still technically at fault for not investigating what their respective churches have deemed "the opposition's" claims (meaning mainstream Christianity, which has been around longer than their founders, over 2000 years, and the Jews which have been around for.... pretty much forever.) They believe all these believers, many who actually heard God speak, suddenly got God ALL WRONG. They, however, now have Him down precisely, nice and pat. WE are the idiots for not believing their revised god stuff, they think. How 'bout that! Like, duh.

If God Himself demands He can only be worshiped in truth and in spirit, then someone decides to come up with their own alternate form of worship, is it worshiping the same "God"? Or is it worshiping their own plan for THEIR own god. There you go. Personally, I wish they would declare themselves separate religions, not part of Christianity. (I.e., mormonism as actually Smith-ism, etc.) We have our own God-ordained Everlasting God where Jesus is Lord belief, thanks. I'd have no problem with them doing that, but they keep insisting on attempting to legitimize their gods by trying for a free ride on the coattails of ours.

That's why. We simply remind them of what God actually says. Turn them back to reality for their own good, you might say, just as God said we should. We love them, too.

Why do mormons and JW's beliefs differ, too, if they both "have ALL the truth" --like they both claim? No Christian church claims they have ALL the truth of God. (Who can know all of God?) We all have our mini facets of God that He sees fit to reveal to each of us. We, however, do not worship the individual facets as "all-encompassing" like cults do. We worship God, in all His glory, because Jesus is truly Lord to the Christian.

Almost all Christian sects have people within that claim all the others are not "real" Christians.

Different interpretations of the Bible. Also Mormons follow the Book of Mormon more then they follow the Bible.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not make the claim to be inspired and they never have and never will. As ardent Bible students, Jehovah's Witnesses rely on the inspired Word of God to guide them on every aspect of life. (read Proverbs 3:5,6; Psalm 119:105; 2 Timothy 3:16,17; 1 Peter 1:20, 21) It is by reading and apply God's wisdom contained in his Word that one can appropriately say that he "hears" God speak to him.

So why do Christians differ on many beliefs? Many factors have contributed to the development of new religious groups. Some have said that the various religions all represent different ways of presenting religious truth. But a comparison of their teachings and practices with the God's Word the Bible indicates, rather, that the diversity of religions is because people have become followers of men instead of listening to God. It is noteworthy that, to a large extent, teachings they hold in common, but that differ from the Bible, originated in ancient Babylon.

Who is the instigator of such religious confusion? The Bible identifies Satan the Devil as “the god of this system of things.” (2 Corinthians. 4:4) It warns us that “the things which the nations sacrifice they sacrifice to demons, and not to God.” (1 Corinthians. 10:20) How vitally important, then, to make sure that we really are worshiping the true God, the Creator of heaven and earth, and that our worship is pleasing to him!

Jesus said that those falsely professing to serve him would be distinguished from his true followers by their fruits—their teachings and their conduct. (Matthew 7:15-17, 20) Indeed, people are inevitably influenced by what they take into their mind and heart. (Matthew 15:18, 19) Those who are fed falsehoods produce “worthless fruit,” whereas those who are taught spiritual truth produce “fine fruit.”

The two kinds of fruits have become clearly manifest during our day. (Read Daniel 12:3, 10.) False Christians have a distorted view of God and often a hypocritical form of godly devotion, whereas those having spiritual insight worship God “with spirit and truth.” (John 4:24; 2 Timothy 3:1-5) This highlights that all religions are not acceptable to God. Consider the following passages:

Judges 10:6, 7: “The sons of Israel again proceeded to do what was bad in the eyes of Jehovah, and they began to serve the Baals and the Ashtoreth images and the gods of Syria and the gods of Sidon and the gods of Moab and the gods of the sons of Ammon and the gods of the Philistines. So they left Jehovah and did not serve him. At this Jehovah’s anger blazed against Israel.” If a person worships any thing or any person other than the true God, the Creator of heaven and earth, it is evident that his form of worship is not acceptable to Jehovah.

Mark 7:6, 7: “He [Jesus] said to them [the Jewish Pharisees and scribes]: ‘Isaiah aptly prophesied about you hypocrites, as it is written, “This people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far removed from me. It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach as doctrines commands of men.”’” Regardless of whom a group profess to worship, if they hold to doctrines of men instead of the inspired Word of God, their worship is in vain.

Romans 10:2, 3: “I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God; but not according to accurate knowledge; for, because of not knowing the righteousness of God but seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.” People may have God’s written Word but lack accurate knowledge of what it contains, because they have not been taught properly. They may feel that they are zealous for God, but they may not be doing what he requires. Their worship is not going to please God, is it?

Jesus revealed the proper way to worship God. If it is our desire to please our Creator we must look to his Word to identify his true followers today. How can a person know which religion is right? Read the links below to find God's answer as revealed in his Word the Bible.
