now i don't want this turning into a argument, but with the over whelming evidence there is for Evolution is convincing, so convincing whole countries teach its theories such as China. Okey so theres some grey area's we dont know, but they just can't be filled with God because these blank area's are getting answered by sound theory's thus eliminating God. What confuses me is that when i ask Christains this, they just ignore it or say "you wouldn't understand." how can they also Believe the earth is 7000 years old? (sorry i might have this number wrong) that just seems also silly when we have carbon dated rocks older than this and found dinosaurs? how can they ignore this? Am just looking for a logical response from anyone. Thanks

People that believe that the earth is only 7000 years old are complete morons but they will argue that evolution is a theory and does not disprove or eliminate the existence of God. God doesn't need to be proven. Faith is a belief in things that can't be proven so what is the big deal if someone wants to believe in God? You're never going to get a logical or definitive answer so....

By faith.

According to Genesis 1:1-5: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. But the earth became waste and emptiness, and darkness was on the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was brooding upon the surface of the waters. And God said, Let there be light; and there was light. And God saw that the light was good, and God separated the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day."

Therefore, before God created the light and separated light from darkness, there was not the measuring of the time in days and nights. Thus, the time before the first day is uncertain, perhapss millions or billions of years.

"God created the earth in a good order (Job 38:4-7; Isa 45:18). "But" here and "became" later in this verse indicate that something happened to cause God's creation to become "waste and emptiness". This cataclysmic event was God's judgment on the preadamic universe following Satan's rebellion. This judgment was executed on Satan, on the angels and the preadamic creatures living on the earth who joined Satan in his rebelion, and on the heavens and the earth themselves. See Isa. 14:12-15 and notes; Ezek. 28:'12-19 and notes" (Note 2(1) of Genesis 1 - Holy Bible - Recovery Version)

I am a Christian, and I believe in evolution. The Old Testament and Creation are true, but misinterpreted. If the Genesis story was literal, what about the Dinosaurs?

The key is allegorical reading. A day to us is not a day to God. So, "The First Day" and the "Second" all the way to the "Sixth" can be enormous periods of time in Earth's history."

Man would be a new period. The key is that those "Days" in the Bible are larger periods of time.

At least I took a spin at it.

Christianity and evolution are two opposites that's why. evolution says the world came into being by a bunch of gases and then BOOM! we came here from monkeys. Christianity says we came by God and if you work backwards all the way to adam the earth is about 6000 years old

Because they're totally deluded and unable to comprehend common sense. They believe in talking snakes, water into wine, burning bushes, riding up through the sky in a chariot, angels, demons, raising the dead etc.

And best of all - they believe that because one person was supposedly crucified, that our 'sins' have been 'washed away'!!!! Gives me a really good belly laugh that one.

this is annoying. yet he won the states that are overflowing with evangelicals who see the opportunity of a theocracy at last with Huckabee in the driving force's seat. that's probable that he would be McCain's working mate so McCain can anticipate the evangelical vote. Seeing as how he talked approximately as their non secular leaders "brokers of intolerance" decrease back in 2000, he needs help with them. yet I might desire to trust you. It makes us look backward as a u . s . a . and that's embarrassing that a guy who easily believes, as you pronounced, that the Flintstones are a correct presentation of historical past, is even being seen for the Presidency. It only is going to coach us how tousled our education equipment is. an impressive volume of evangelicals abode college their toddlers because of the fact they might't arise with the money for Christian inner maximum college, yet they do no longer choose for their toddlers being taught actually technological expertise or studying approximately "homasexshuls." some are easily allowed to abode college toddlers who did no longer even graduate themselves from severe college. What a equipment. as a effect we are able to have a by no ability ending grant of people raised in scientific lack of understanding and persevering with the bigotries they help via pointing to their Bibles.

All evidence is shared by everyone. An evolutionary interpretation is not the only one, and it is not a satisfactory one for many scientific reasons.

As for the age of the earth, it is curious that most people accept assurances that the earth is old, despite the fact that most dating methods suggest the earth is young.

These methods range across many different scientific disciplines.

The existence of short lived comets (they would not exist if the galaxy was old. The Oort cloud was invented to explain them, but has no observational support whatsoever.)

The recession of the moon. The moon is receding from the earth at about an inch each year. This puts an upper limit on the earth/moon system far less than 4.5 billion years.

The earth's magnetic field is decreasing, and has been measured for a hundred years of so. Extrapolating backwards puts a low upper limit on the age of life on earth. Life cannot survive in very high magnetic field.

Not enough salt in the sea. We can measure the inflow and outflow of salt. If the oceans had started with no salt they would have reached their current salinity in a short time.

The same method applies to dozens of other minerals too, not just salt.

Too much helium in rocks. Helium, being very light, escapes from rocks, yet is found in rocks alleged to be very ancient.

Too little helium in the upper atmosphere. This was pointed out in Nature as long ago as 1957.

Coal and diamonds contain carbon 14. Carbon 14 decays to immeasurable amounts in about 50000 years. Yet all coal and some diamonds (all alleged to be ancient) have been found to contain carbon 14.

And there are many others: Saturn’s rings defy old age explanations; There are different types of stars, and according to evolutionary theory there are the wrong number of the different types; Mercury is the densest planet and according to evolutionary theory should not be where it is; Mercury has a magnetic field, contrary to evolutionary predictions; the sun has far too little angular momentum for old-age evolutionary theories.

Dinosaur bones, alleged to be millions of years old, have been found containing red blood cells – hardly 65 million years old! (this has been documented by secular scientists – see National Geographic for example).

Much evidence for age is clearly faulty, and often involves radiometric dating. Rock from Mt St Helens volcano was dated as millions of years old when it is known to be just decades.

Of course all dating methods rely on observations in the present and assumptions about the past. If there was one method indicating youth for every method indicating great age, then it would be reasonable to doubt the young earth methods. But there are 10 (or more) methods indicating youth for every method suggesting great age. One wonders why scientists not only ignore the majority of evidence, but actively suppress it.

Why do they ignore what the church has taught since St. Augustine in the 5th century? Namely that when attempting to discern whether the language used is figurative or not....If your exegesis is in conflict with legitimate science....it is your exegesis that is flawed.

Strict Biblical literalism is relatively new phenomenon in Christianity

actually i just disproved evolution last week. i read every bit of evolutional material they gave me and i found nothing but unproved theories. you guys can prove adaptation and fossils exist but you cant prove that a monkey can turn into human. no evidence support evolution i have read it all studied genetics and chromosomes. but i dont think the the earth is only 7000 yrs old but i hold to the pre-adamite race theory.

evolution is a theory only. NOT a fact

I do not ignore it, but I am open to the idea that God directed the evolutionary processes.

Only fundamentalists believe that.

Get your facts right.

Because there is no proof for evolution. The Earth is 6000 years old. It says so in the Bible.
