Question:
What do you think of this Christian guy, he says reading the bible can be dangerous?

This guy says,

'Single parts of Scripture can easily lead to misinterpretation. When Satan tried to tempt Jesus by quoting Scriptures, Jesus answered him by quoting the correct parts of Scripture, saying: “It is also written…” You see, a single Bible verse taken out of context can easily be misinterpreted.

he goes on,

"The Bible is not a difficult book to understand, but must at all times be read very carefully, because the enemy can be using the same Bible to mislead you. Never, ever read the Bible without praying for an open mind and wisdom first."

So do you agree with guy that like people can become led by Satan by reading the bible, if they do it irreverently?

Not taking the Bible seriously, and not reading the RIGHT Bible (Douay-Rheims) is MUCH more dangerous than misinterpreting it.

The Bible like any written document must be properly interpreted in order to benefit from its content. We have nine SCOTUS justices just to interpret American law. And they are not always 9-0.

Throughout history people have perverted scripture in attempts to make it say things that it doesnt. Usually by context abuse.

In that regard, we must be very careful when interpreting scripture. God doesnt like people putting words in his mouth that he never once uttered.

Psa 56:5 Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil.

Peter speaking of Paul's epistles:

2Pe 3:16 Some of his comments are hard to understand, and those who are ignorant and unstable have twisted his letters to mean something quite different, just as they do with other parts of Scripture. And this will result in their destruction.

The most important rule of thumb is to always allow scripture to interpret scripture.

Properly read, the Bible is the most potent force for atheism ever conceived.”

― Isaac Asimov

It ain't those parts of the Bible that I can't understand that bother me, it is the parts that I do understand. Mark Twain

"No man ever believes that the Bible means what it says; he is always convinced that it says what he means." George Bernard Shaw

To take it even further, interpreting the Bible in any way contrary to the authoritative teachings of the Holy Catholic Church would also be a huge mistake. And that explains a lot!

You are correct! The Bible is not a difficult book to understand, & must be read very carefully, because Satan is misleading the ENTIRE inhabited earth, using false prophets.(Rev.12:9;Mat.7:15)

In Revelation 17:5,6; 18:2,4 speaks of 'Babylon the Great,' the world empire of false religion.

False religion has a long history of supporting the political rulers of this world. Responsibile for the many wars that have resulted in hundreds of millions being slaughtered on the earth, & other forms of sexual immorality committed by clergymen & tolerated by the church authorities.(Rev.18:8,24)

Like the false prophets in Jesus time, Christendom’s clergy walks in falsehood, spreading doctrines/teachings NOT found in God’s Word. EX: Immortality of the soul,Trinity, purgatory, hellfire.Their teachings have caused division & have furthered the hatred of those of differing faiths and national groups.

Those who believe such lies are being poisoned spiritually. They are being misled to their destruction!

The author did not say that reading the Bible is dangerous. He said that picking out only small parts of the Bible and trying to twist them to meaning something they do not is dangerous. The only way to avoid doing that would be to actually read the whole Bible and come to understand it.

You totally missed what the author was saying and got it all backwards. (I suspect that was be choice.)

No one should discourage people from reading the bible. For those who have the courage to listen to their conscience or "the true light that lighteth every man that cometh into the world (John 1:9), the bible holds tons of truths to live by. The light from God can lead us if we have the courage to listen to it and to ignore the subtle voice of Satan which redirects us from focusing on the light. The light of Christ manifests in a sense of goodness, common sense, hope, and surety. The voice of Satan manifests in doubt, fear, confusion, etc. When we have doubtful feelings, we no longer focus on the light of Christ but rather we want to place out trust in things that we can see with physical senses such as the philosphies of men and word smithing bible passages. We get stuck in paralyzing philosophizing and can never come to a knowledge of the truth.

In the end, we all can discern right from wrong. We know that it is wrong to lie, be deceitful, be immoral or harm others in any way. We know it is good to pray, work, serve, love, be generous, be thrifty, take care of our bodies, ignore pornography, etc. We also know deep down that God is just, merciful and only does that which is good for all individuals.

We can easily sense the true motives of those "Christians" whose only desire is to cause contentious feelings, and tear down, bully and hurt those who think differently.

The Bible is the Devils evidence like Bernard Madoff's portfolio .

If the idea that Lucifer Devil Satan thingy was gods apex creation I supposed he could create great

Ponzi BS aka the bible .. It sure wasn't stupid goat herders but could of been Romans who wrote history as winners .

Evidence - Titus and Vespasian Flavius destroyed all Jewish writings after they tore down the second Jewish temple in Judea in 70CE . That's why the dead sea scrolls started getting hidden in caves .

The Romans became experts at wiping out opposition and they would of done the same with early Christian supposed writings - Unless they were the ones who created them to control the masses as winners who wrote and controlled history .
