Hey guys in 2 weeks (southern hemisphere) it is Imbolc - August 1st and I would like to try it out. I have been studying Wicca for 10 months and I haven't practiced the Wheel of the Year yet so I need some feedback on my altar that I have planned for the event.

--------------------------
Left:
Blue candle - Goddess

Chalice - Goddess - water - drinking/offerings in ritual

Container of salt - earth

-------------------------
Middle:
Red candle - fire/colour representing Imbolc -

Purple candle - Always used on my altar representing fire

Amethyst - Symbolic to Imbolc

Container of seed - re-birth and fertility

---------------------------
Right:
Vanilla Incense - Symbolic to Imbolc - Air

Athame - The God - Air - Casting the Circle

Yellow Candle - The God

---------------------------
Is there anything I need to change or fix on my altar? Please correct me. Thanks 10pts :)

Altars are just horizontal spaces to hold important ritual objects. if the altar is logical to you, then it's a good set up for an altar. The gods are not going to behave differently toward you based on if you arrange your altar in certain ways.

What you describe is certainly logical. I find it odd you use purple to represent fire, but, again, it's YOUR altar. It's all about personal symbolism.

Remember that Imbolc is sacred to the goddess Brigid. She would appreciate an offering of bread made with milk and honey. The altar itself is very good. I would consider doing a blessing of the house and an invocation to Brigid asking her protection, especially against damage by fire (she is a hearth goddess) or water (she is also associated with healing wells). Look up 'how to make a Brigit's cross' for more ideas.

Your altar is beautiful! I had friends who were into all things metaphysical, including Wicca, and I have a great appreciation for the religion, as I see it to be an effort to live in harmony with nature. I hope it is a blessed Imbolc for you. :)

Altars should be set up in a way that makes sense to you... your altar looks lovely, enjoy your sabbat.
