Who is telling young earth creationists the fossil record is out of order?

My parents are convinced this is the case regardless of what I say or what mainstream archeology says. I find that when I get sucked into these talks it is pointless because they think carbon 14 dating shows dinosaurs and the earth is young and he only way marine fossils can be on mountains is Noah's flood. Is it other Christians knowingly lying for god's sale or just ignorance for god's sake.

Pious fraud, i.e. lying for God. Some who make those arguments do not have the scientific background, or have bothered to learn enough to have the understanding of the evidence available. Many of those who promote these false points don't have the excuse of ignorance. They simply prefer to ignore facts, believing that the Bible cannot be wrong, thus anything that contradicts their interpretations of the Bible require them to reject facts.

The evolutionary scientists and long age geologists of mainstream science are interpreting the same facts and evidences differently than the young earth creation scientists. Both sides have the same data available to their analysis, but it is the philosophical presuppositions of each side that causes them to draw different conclusions about geology and the fossil record. If you truly wish to be objective in this matter, then you should study the conclusions made by both sides. (1)



So with that said, there are in fact other ways to interpret geological evidences, and logically come to the conclusion that the geologic forces that have shaped our planet did not take as long as commonly supposed. There are also many proofs published in mainstream peer reviewed journals that indicate that dinosaur fossils are young. In recent years, soft tissue has been found in dinosaur fossils, and the presence of DNA has even been detected in T-Rex bones. The laws of chemistry state that organic structures can't survive for 65 million years. The most liberal calculations indicate that DNA can not survive even for 125,000 years under the most ideal conditions. Sources for this and others can be seen here (3). You should look at the sources I provided that also site secular journals, and see if you are still confident in the long age of the Earth. Or you can simply use these sources as a bibliography and check out the secular journals directly.

You may be surprised to learn that fossils are being found “in the wrong place” all the time. Out of place, that is, compared with the areas, or ranges, shown for them on the geological column. But evolutionists don’t think of them as being ‘wrong’ because they have a way of ‘explaining’ every new fossil discovery, no matter where it’s found. All they do is change their story about how evolution happened. Evolution is never questioned.

Dinosaur fossils should not contain any detectable 14C if they are more than 100,000 years old. However many dinosaur fossils have been found with measurable levels of 14C, as well as soft tissue, red blood cells, and remnants of DNA. The logical conclusion therefore is that dinosaur fossils are less than 100,000 years old. The evidence is consistent with many fossils forming during a flood ~4500 years ago.

The Bible does not tell us the earth is flat. However even today we often speak in terms of a flat stationary earth, such as referring to sunrise and sunset. Curiously, some astronomical observations do point to the Milky Way galaxy being close to the center of the universe.

If they simply refuse to listen to reason and evidence then there is very little you can do. Its the classic you can lead a horse to water but cant make it drink scenario.

carbon 14 dating is not valid over 7,000 years or so.

this is because of 2 reasons.

before the flood there was a water canopy over the earth which blocks solar radiation so carbon 14 decay would need full sunshine for the results to be valid pre-flood.

2nd is it is only good for 50,000 max years anyhow and reliable data would be much shorter time period.



scientist today only report some of their data and exclude data that doesn't match up to their theories.



such as counting each layer in snow or rock as annual and ignoring data that shows that layers can be layed down much faster.
