When we are born, we all have this natural belief in God Almighty, the Creator of Everything (Islam). Afterwards, our parents change our belief to make it the same as theirs. This is where Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, aetheism (doesn't believe in God), etc. come in. The difference now will be on who they worship as their god/s. The Catholics have the father, son, holy spirit plus Mary and the saints, angels as their gods. Other Christians believe that Jesus is the only savior of mankind. The Jews believe in God Almighty, but don't believe on some of the messengers of Go like Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon them). The Hindus believe that god is everywhere, in cows, rats, etc. The Buddhists worship buddha. And the aetheists don't believe in the existence of God.

So, do you have to be a Christian or a Jew to believe in God. The answer is NO. But it all depends on who you worship as your God, god or gods!

Christians and Jews believe in the God of Abraham. The creator of heaven and earth. The difference is that christians believe that the promised savior in Jesus the Son of God. Because he fulfilled all of the prophesys in the Old Testament. The followers of Jesus wrote the New Testament which is a testimony of the the things they saw and a clarification of the scriptures. If you have any questions about this you may e-mail me.

To be really honest with you, I don't think you have to have any religion at all to believe in God. Now, don't take me wrong, I am very religious, but I also believe that, for those who haven't studied religion, it's absolutely A-OK for you to believe in God as you want. You don't have to accept any Prophets or Commandments or anything.

However, if you mean in GOD, as in with-a-capital-G, the kinds that Jews, Muslims, and Christians believe in-- then still no. Because all three of those religions believe in Adam, Eve, Moses, Abraham, Jesus (not sure about Judaism, but I know Islam and Christianity believe in Jesus!).

Hope that helped, and good luck with whatever spirituality you accept!

You only have to believe, But God is not a man. God is a extremely powerful superior supernatural spirit being. Where the name Christian comes from is believing in Jesus Christ (Christian). If you meant rligious then, No, I am a spiritual Christian and do not belong to any Church. I do not have a thing against Church but I get closer to God by reading the Bible at home, meditating on His word as much of day and night as possible and taking time throughout my day just talking to Him and taking time to receive His response.

Take care and may God bless you spiritually.

You do not have to be titled to believe in God. The Chinese believe in god, named chi. There are many religions in this world. Pick one that speaks to your soul. That is the answer you want, yes?

If you believe God, then why did so many prophets die proclaiming the coming of Christ, and then when Christ died, so many have now died saying that Christ is the Son of God? Why are so many people ok with just god, but mention Christ and that stirs up everything, even law suits and death in some regions of the world?

Politically, god is your question. Ok for discussion. Spiritually, you are dead by "doing" religion.

It all depends on which version of God you believe in. You can believe in the Jewish version, the arabic version, the Christian version, etc. You can believe there is a God and live according to your own belief and your own commandments, but every religious belief has a list of dos and don'ts.

Hope it helps.

Ancient Egyptians believed in (at least one) god. So did the Assyrians, the Babylonians, the ancient Norse, the ancient Native Americans, the ancient Chinese...an awful lot of cultures (but not all) believed in at least one "god" that was nothing at all like the judeo-christian god. Some of them were even sorta fun, like the Hindu gods of fertility or the Japanese phallic gods...

So no, you don't have to be christian (or jewish) to believe in god. You *do* have to be delusional, though...after all, there's really no such thing :)

Peace.

No, to be Christian is to truly, with all your heart believe that Jesus died for your sins and that God is the one true God. You can believe that there is one God but you don't have to be Christian.

to be Christian you must believe in God

to believe in God doesn't mean your Christian.

I'm sure you can come to the understanding that there is a Supreme Power (no, atheists, not your Dawkins), who must be responsible for all that is good, glorious, powerful, purposeful and downright proper.

Many scientists have come to draw no other conclusion than there must be a God. They have done so through their observations.

But only Christ can help believers come to know that Supreme Power fully. It is Christ who reveals the full extent of the power and glory of God.

I'm sorry, I can't answer on behalf of my brothers and sisters, the Jewish people.

well in order to believe in god you need to believe in Jesus, the embodiment of god. Its a bit confusing, because some think that they're one, which they are, but sometimes they're separate. Basically Jesus is God so in order to believe in God you must believe in Jesus and by believing in Jesus you are christian.

No. Anyone can believe in God, but if you want to believe in the only correct God, then you want to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Then God will reveal the truth to you.

"God" is the english pronoun used for the Jewish/Christian god YHWY. so if you are not a Christian of Jew then apparently your god is not YHWY/God...
