The word talent in the Bible is a very old word and was the name of a certain coin or money.

Jesus often gave illustrations and he tried to teach his disciples a valuable lessons in that way. Note that the master in the parable recognized that each of his slaves had different potential. He indicated this when he assigned talents to “each one according to his own ability.” (Matt. 25:15) As expected, the first slave produced significantly more than the second slave. However, the master recognized the diligent efforts of both of these slaves by pronouncing the slaves “good and faithful” .

The talents : we all have different potential depending on for instance, our age, where we live, etc. we can use our potential to do good things towards God and our fellowmen According to those potentials.

Not doing anything with your potential to do good is like burying it in sand and do nothing positive. God is very pleased if we give from ourselves as much as we can.

I'm pretty sure that if the person wanted to go to heaven....then becoming an air steward over a scientist was the most intelligent choice.

The point of the parable isn't really about using talents for worldly achievements. It's about using you life to promote God's kingdom - in other words, caring for your own salvation and the salvation of others. If God has given you time and resources you should use them to grow your own relationship with God and to help bring other people into communion with him.

I see the main point of the story being that you should be content with whatever you are given in life and use what you have to the best of your ability. Choosing science over a music career is neither here nor there in my opinion as both are profiting society(at least for the most part). I see this parable as being relevant for all of us who feel inferior/unworthy/jealous of others and a story telling us to offer our best irrespective of how small or insignificant our best may be/appear to be.

the meaning is, what ever God equips you to do, to it to your utmost and for the kingdom

If you bury it and do nothing you will be judged

the talents are not what you are born with....it is what God gives you to do.

The meaning is, we will be blessed if we follow Jesus Christ.
