Question:
How is this just?

Hypothetical (but very plausible) situation:

John Manning breaks into a house looking for items to steal to sell to support a drug habit. Susan Goode, the homeowner's 17 year old daughter is taken unawares and is killed, never having been born again.

Manning is hunted down by police, arrested, tried convicted and sentenced to die.

In prison he gets "born again".

How is it just that he goes to Heaven while his victim goes to hell?

I'm only considering answers from those who consider being born again necessary for heaven for thumbs up or best answer.

Not a trick question. I want to understand how this is just--if it is.

The answer lies in an actual event where God stepped in to destroy people. It's recorded in Genesis chapter 19.

Three visitors came to Abraham and told him that the towns of Sodom and Gomorrah were going to be destroyed by God because of their gross sin. This is from verse 20 on. Abraham was so concerned, he asked the Lord,

"Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked? What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it? Far be it from you to do such a thing - to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?"

The Lord agreed with Abraham, that if there were 50 righteous people, He would spare the towns from destruction.

Abraham whittled the number down from 50 to 45, 40, 30, 20, then 10 righteous people. God agreed that He would spare the towns from destruction if only 10 righteous people were found in them.

Well, God got Lot and his family out of Sodom - only 4 people - and then rained down destruction on the rest.

Lots of people will resent that account, claiming it is impossible that whole towns could be so evil in God's judgment that they deserved destruction. But God is the Judge of all the Earth, and He reads people's hearts and minds. On the coming Day of Judgment, everything hidden will be revealed, and cosmic justice dispensed. Never mind hypothetical situations and people - where will you stand if Death visits you unexpectedly tomorrow, or today? NOW is the Day of Salvation and God's patience is very great. Just don't take it for granted.

Jesus said that on the Day of Judgment, it would fare better for Sodom than for some of the towns where people saw Jesus miracles and heard Him preach, yet rejected Him. The Judge of all the Earth will do what is right.

He is a just God and your right God would not do that.

(Revelation 5:10) and you made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over the earth.”

So some are going to live on earth. Both of them will have a resurrection during Judgment day of 1000 years.(John 5:28, 29) 28 Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.

#1 no person goes to what your calling hell the lake of fire untill judgement day.

#2 no person gets sentenced to hell for simply not having a chance to repent and join the Jesus program to salvation.

The person who was killed will be in the resurrection and be given that choice.

False religions teach a total garbage doctorine I truely encourage you to read the Bible find the true God through Jesus Christ and learn the truth not to be unkind here but from your question you don't have the truth or you would have known the above.

The teaching of heaven and hellfire is a false doctrine god created man to enjoy earth in a paradise condition. It was Satan the devil that said to men and wicked angels come let us go up and live in heaven.

God kicked Satan out! For this crap. If God wanted men in heaven he wouldn't have said the righteous shall possess the earth and reside forever upon it!

The idea of hell is from pagan origin and God warned isreal not to teach this lie!

First, you don't KNOW that the 17 year-old went to hell. That is an opinion. Second, just as in the parable of the people who went to work in the vineyard who were all paid the same wages. That was an allegory about people who are saved early in life vs. those who are saved late in life. They're both saved. It's not up to us humans to judge who goes to heaven or hell. We need to leave that decision up to God.

In John chapter 3 Jesus tells Nicodemus that in order to see the Kingdom of God He must be born again, Meaning we must make a conscious decision to die to our old life of sin and committ to a new life under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

It isn't. It's marketing.

Religion takes membership and donations from anyone.

Life isn't fair, but we do have the right to choose our eternal destiny BEFORE we die. Some may die before they change and others may live long enough.

Justice is not concerned with the fictional afterlife, but the current reality.

There is no proof heaven or hell exist.

the 17 year old committed sin and never repented of her evil deeds. the murderer did repent of his sins.
