Is something wrong with me(religion)?

I m a christian orthodox and of course I believe in god.In the past years I begun to not believe in some things like magic,horoscpope(I know they not belong ti religion though).I strongly begun to believe in science and of course evolutionism,even though I believe in sciene I still believe in god but I cannot prove or disaprove His existence.I rode on the internet and I tought that makes me an agonstic.The only thing about my belief now is that i believe in it,in god,in most of it s history and the good stuf.Please answear me.

Science and religion/philosophy are about two different things. Science can neither prove nor disprove the existence of God. Christianity, for its part, is not dependent on science for its belief in God -- it is revelation, not some scientific proof.



Let each discipline have its own territory, but neither should intrude into the other. Science is about the "how" of things; religion and philosophy are about the "why" - things science cannot answer. "Why is there a universe?" To answer "big bang" or "string theory" or something else are "how" answers to the "why" question.

Religion has reformed many times , a belief and practice system should increase goodness and reduce fear that leads to sin , it should become more self evident as science advances , the truth in religion is self evident its just that the next reformation is a big one.

I've found that the best answer to a lot of questions like this is by looking in the Bible. If you are not opposed to that idea, I do have an answer for you.



First off, whenever the Bible does touch on science, it is always correct. Such as the fact of the Earth being suspended on nothing. This can be found at Job.26:7. During Job's time many believed that half of the the earth was floating on water. At Isa.40:22 it brings out the circle of the Earth where for many years people thought it was flat.



As for proof as to whether God exists, the answer can be quite simple like oxygen, you know it's there, but you can't see it. The fact that the world and universe moves with such perfection shows a hand in there being something greaer than yourself. From the way the universe almost moves like a wave according to NASA's recent studies.

To this the student replied, "Evil does not exist, sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat, or the darkness that comes when there is no light."

Atheist point of view.



Let's say I asked you why you believe in Yahweh, or better yet, how you know Yahweh is real. Lets put up two scenarios.



Scenario 1

"I have experienced Him in church, or have seen miracles, or have witnessed things in my dreams, or can prophesy." Ok. I would, as an atheist, probably believe you. I would believe that you are telling me the truth and truly believe you have experienced these things. I would submit to you two ideas.

1. These things do not require any supernatural involvement. These feelings can be artificially induced in a lab (the god helmet), and your dreams and prophecies could have been coincidences; what is more likely - that the laws of physics have been bent in your favor or that there is a physical explanation for what is happening? Everything you experienced is a result of the neuro-chemical properties of the brain.

But, for the sake of argument, lets say there is no scientific explanation for what is going on. Do you know what that means? It means that we don't know what is going on. It could have been a result of physical, chemical, or biological properties we do not yet understand, you may not remember everything correctly, it could have been aliens or secret technology being tested on you. All we know is that we don't know, and to claim you do know when you don't know is a lie. The moment you introduce "miracles" as a possibility you immediately stall scientific progress; because if it was a miracle, than by definition there is no physical explanation and therefor no scientific explanation and therefor no way to know and therefor no reason to investigate. As soon as you claim "miracle", you prevent the well-being of living things by scientific understanding.

But, for the sake of argument, lets assume that these things could prove the supernatural; which brings us to



2. How do you know there is a god? Lets say you have a vision of a bearded man saying "tomorrow, 9/11/2001, two planes will crash into the world trade cents and others will crash into the pentagon and onto some field." And then you wake up on 9/11/2001 and it happens. That would sure convince me that something is going on.

Now, lets again assume without reason that there is no explanation that does not violate the laws of physics, making the only explanations supernatural. Let us also assume (more reasonably so) that this was not a one in one billion chance coincidence (meaning it would have happened 7 times anyways).

Ask yourself, "What do I know?" You know that

1. You knew the future

2. It was not a coincidence

3. Something supernatural happened

According to this, that is all you know. You don't know whether you received this information from an intelligent being, even if you did you don't know whether that being is all powerful, even if it is you don't know if it created the universe, you don't know its name, you don't know how it came into existence if it did at all, you don't know if or how it played a part in human history and you don't know what its character is like nor what it thinks of our species nor do you know of its plan, and that is all in the assumption that you did receive that information from an intelligent supernatural being.

The only reason you claim to know any of this is because you read it in a book. A fallible translation - fallibly translated hundreds of times by fallible men - of a fallible book written by fallible men claiming to have fallibly interpreted such a being's means of communication. Even I you claim to know it was a God, which you cannot claim to know, you still have no good reason based on evidence to believe anything that is written in that book.
