Question:
I received Communion last night at a mass?

Last night I received Communion at a Roman Catholic mass. I am not part of a Catholic church yet, nor have I been baptised. I have been practicing on my own, though. I was confused at first because I forgot about Communion, but I accepted. I don't believe I confessed my latest sin before so (I prayed and confessed the night before, but I experienced lust during that day.) Does this mean I disgraced the Eucharist? I didn't even know I had to confess before so...
Thanks!

What's done is done, so don't beat yourself up over it. But now you know that before receiving Communion, you need to be baptized and become a member of the Catholic church. So just keep on the right path and pray. Hopefully the day will come when you can be baptized and receive Communion as a full member of the Church.

God bless you!

As a non-Catholic, you should not have received the Eucharist at Mass at all. Rather, when everyone went up for Communion, you should have either stayed in your seat or gone up with your arms crossed over your chest to receive a blessing. However, since you didn't know, it's okay. Just realize that you shouldn't do that again.

To more directly answer your question, Catholics are required to confess any mortal (serious, grave) sins before receiving the Eucharist.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to email me.

Since you're not Catholic, you're "disgracing the Eucharist" by not following all the rules that apply to receiving it or any other sacrament. So yes. It does not matter if YOU recognize yourself as Catholic or believe in all things, it has to be confirmed through the Church. Do not receive again, please, until you have come into the Church. That is a sin in itself.

Technically you are not to receive the Eucharist until you are baptized into Jesus Christ's Catholic Church. One needs to be in a state of grace before receiving the Eucharist. One also has to believe in the true presence of Christ to partake of the Eucharist.

Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord. Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For any one who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment upon himself." (1 Cor 11:27-29)

it does no longer be a sin, basically no longer perfect. so as to obtain Communion, you ought to be baptized and in the state of grace. while you're no longer a working in direction of Catholic ( weekly Mass) you're no longer in the state of grace. Many parishes have First Communion earlier reconciliation because of the fact infants are no longer in a position, at that age to dedicate mortal sin. it particularly isn't any longer their fault that they can't attend Mass because of the fact of their mum and dad. because of the fact of this the mummy and dad of the applicants for First Communion attend academic training and are inspired to obtain the sacrament with their toddler in the process the 1st Communion Mass. If the youngster is older or regardless of if it particularly is an person that has no longer made their First Communion, it particularly is the custom of the guy to attend RC IA training. whilst that particular is waiting, they're going to obtain the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, confirmation and Eucharist. Baptism forgives sins and the Sacrament of Reciliation would be won later. Your niece could circulate up for Communion together with her palms crossed over her chest as a demonstration that she does no longer want Communion yet a blessing, because of the fact the priest does no longer understand her on your parish. examine including your pastor first to verify that it quite is the way it particularly is carried out on your parish.

Whoa! I'm not even Catholic and I can tell you that you at least have to be baptized. The Eucharist is a very serious thing. You should in no way approach the altar to commune. Your first order of business is getting yourself baptized.

You shouldn't take the Catholic communion until you are a Catholic, and that is determined by the church. You should talk with a priest at the church about getting into an RCIA class at the church, which is a class for new people who want to be a Catholic. It can take 6 months or more and ends at Easter, which is when they let you take communion for the first time as a Catholic.

I'm Protestant. The Catholics and Protestants have the same basic message about needing God and Jesus Christ in our life. The Catholic church is the old church and has a bigger Bible, and the Protestants like to just stick with the Bible straight and not lean so much on church history.

You can pray the prayer below to be a Christian and then you can do RCIA too. God can help you live it out. When you are a Christian, then you can get God's guidance, help, and get to live in heaven forever after death, if you live a good, God-honoring life. If you live a life without knowing God, then you go to hell -- a bad place of suffering forever, when you die. Praying the prayer below will make you a Christian. Then, live it out with faith and love for God and Jesus Christ, love others, Bible study, prayer, and church. It's about having a relationship with God. God is our spiritual Father, Creator, life, love, all-powerful, all-knowing, holy, eternal.

This is how to know God -- the basic Christian message and prayer --- you need to accept God's Son, Jesus Christ, into your life to be a Christian and follow God's ways so you can receive God's guidance in your life and get to heaven after you die. Knowing God can transform your life. As God is love, life is primarily about love and relationships in order to have a rich and full life. Also, you need to know God's Son, Jesus Christ, in your life as your Lord and Savior as Jesus died on the cross as payment for our sins. Having Him with you will give you God's blessing and forgiveness, as you live God's way. Not following God leads to hell, eternal suffering. Instead, there is an important prayer to pray to become a Christian. This prayer should be said with faith in God and a sincere heart:

"Dear God, I know that I am a sinful person and I don't want to be like this anymore. I know that Jesus Christ died on the cross as payment for our sins, and I want to accept Jesus Christ into my life as my Lord and Savior so I can receive God's forgiveness, guidance, and go to heaven someday. Thank you, dear God, for your mercy and guidance; in Jesus' name. Amen."

This prayer can take you to a new place in your relationship with God and transform your life. After saying this prayer, you should check out a Christian church. The church can get you baptized and prayed for, and you can pray for yourself daily.

The church can get you into their Bible study group so you can learn more about God, Jesus, and God's will for your life. The Bible is God's instruction book about how to live a God-honoring life so you can go to heaven after you die. Ways to stay connected to God's path include loving God and Jesus Christ, obeying God's ways, daily Bible reading, daily prayer for yourself and others, getting to church, having your church prayer group and/or pastor pray for you, fasting with prayer for a higher level of prayer, getting with other Christians and doing a Bible study, singing hymns to God, taking communion with the church, helping and loving others, expressing your gratitude to God for His help in your life by telling others of your progress and helping them draw closer to God too, tithing, volunteering at church. Continue to turn from sins and seek God's forgiveness in your life as you live your daily life. God guide your life.
