Question:
Creation of the Earth?

Hi, My friend just told me that a little while ago she watched a programme about how the earth was "made". She said that they managed to zoom into something and there they found a galaxy (I think) in the shape of a cross, like the one Jesus died on.

I would be really interested to know if anyone saw this programme, or knows about it so that they can tell me more!

Thank You

There are no galaxies in the shape of a cross. Due to gravity, a cross shaped galaxy would defy the laws of physics. Also, any show that states that there was in fact a cross shaped galaxy, is full of crap and probably also thinks that a round earth proves Jesus, and the world is only 6000 years old.

Since there are sever trillion galaxies you can probably find one that looks vaguely like anything you want. It's just your over active pattern recognition at work.

But here's what she was talking about: http://foreverandalways.files.wordpress.com/2008/06/bigbang-m-51whirlpool-galaxy-core-cross.jpg

FYI: I did a bit of checking. That isn't actually the shape of the galaxy. That is some dust in the foreground partly obscuring it.

According to the Sumerians Planet Earth, the Moon and the Astro Belt are remnants from a once existing planet called Tiamat that was destroyed by celestial cataclysms.

I don't know about the TV programme, but your question made me google the subject. This link contains a picture of what you might be looking for:

Never heard of the program but if they claimed anything to do with crosses and jesus then they are insane.

I have an astigmatism and my eyes focus in a cross. Hence the name and I'm an atheist.

Unless it is punishment from Jesus I would say it has nothing to do with religion.

If Jesus existed, he lived and died in our galaxy, the Milky Way. The Milky Way looks like this:

It is physically impossible for a galaxy to be shaped like a cross, due to gravity
