Question:
What do you think about a Church group protesting Tim McLean’s funeral?

In case you don’t know Tim McLean was an innocent young heterosexual guy who got 60 or more times stabbed, decapitated by a murderer while sleeping on a bus, the murderer carves the guts out of his dead corpse, he ate some parts of his body and got only a second degree murder, and the worse part is a hated church group wanted to protest his funeral saying his brutal murder was a sign from God.

So who is more insanely sadistic, the religious fanatics or the murderer?

I think the murderer most likely belongs to the aforementioned church.

Thus, making them equally sick... but then comes the question of nature/nurture...

Oh, that's just the Westboro Baptist Church. They've done plenty worse than that. They're most well known for protesting the funerals of fallen soldiers with signs that say "Thank God For Dead Soldiers." As an active duty military member, I'm not amused. I just hope they never come to my neck of the woods and try to pull that stunt. I might *accidentally* lose control of my car, and drive up onto the sidewalk where they happen to be protesting.

I have this non-Christian friend who saw an episode ofJimmy Kimmel Live one night. On the show was a group of Christians who, basically, said that all technology is evil. Now, my friend turns to me (a Christian, KJV Bible believer) and says "Christians are all stupid ignorant fools for believing such things."

Why is it that people see some group of "Christians" doing something strange and then act like all Christians are the same or even have the same beliefs? I don't think technology is wicked, nor do I think going around to non-Christian funerals and protesting is approved of God.

May Fred Phelps and all the members of his "church" obtain in the afterlife the punishment they so richly deserve. I wouldn't wish eternal damnation on anyone. But I hope God sends him and his ilk to the most tortuous place in Purgatory for the longest time possible. The man is evil and so are his followers. They will be the ones crying "Lord, Lord."

That church group is what Jesus described in the parable of the weeds or the parable of the tares.

In other words they are frauds pretending to be Christians when they are not.

The Bible says you aren't motivated by love you aren't really a Christian.

You don't need to be a theologian to know that that church groups is not motivated by love.

Obviously the murderer if the religious fanatics didn't decapitate anyone and start to eat them.

You have the right to protest and the right to free speech, but no one has THE RIGHT to murder anyone.

And yes, the religious fanatics that you are referring to are horrible, disrespectful, rude, nasty, intolerant, bad people.

You're just posting this question to talk smack about Religion. Thanks a lot.

I often get confused by the concept of protesting a funeral...

Do they NOT want him to be buried?

I think any kind of protest at a funeral is sick.

The fanatics every time. The murderer was aiming for his wife, but he forgot his glasses.

It is a case of mental health. I think religion can add to a person mental in a lot of cases. It is very sad.

The WBC is not a Christian organization because the Bible says you can't be a Christian and hate others. WBC says "God hates fags" and they openly declare their hatred of homosexuals.

1Jn 4:20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
