It took me two days to find out, but Lord Dan Eorl Halloran won the city council spot.

What do you think about Pagans being in politics? Right now we have Pagan City Council members, next we will have Pagan Senators and Govenors, then maybe a Pagan President.

Oh why not?

Pagans are painted with a broad ugly brush by Christians of long past to impress in the minds of their newly converted flock to abandon their pagan ways. Yet, when pagans were reluctant many of the pagan ways were then incorporated into Christian rites and customs.

"To abolish the heathens lewd superstitious custom of boys drawing the names of girls, in honour of their goddess Februata Juno, on the fifteenth of this month, several zealous pastors substituted the names of saints in billets, given on this day." Thus we have today: St. Valentine's Day

Christian folklore includes Knecht Ruprecht, a rough companion to Santa Claus; the Lutzelfrau, a Yule witch who must be appeased with small presents; the Osterhase (Easter Hare - the original Easter Bunny); and Walpurgisnacht, a spring festival derived from pagan customs.

Those divided always do fall to the power that is whether it is the church or government (even both at times when they are united in an effort).

Holistic healing is coming to be commonly accepted again by the general population, which was a common practice among healers of the past. Much of the holistic healing particularly Herbalism knowledge is the source of today's pharmacology industry.

Thus, I hope this peak into "paganism" was not too much for those on Y.A. and come to the point that Paganism is not all that it is purported to be.

I have no problems with an atheist being involved in politics. But I do have a problem with an active evangelical fundamentalist getting elected to a position where s/he has a strong influence on the laws that are passed. I would have voted for anyone against Huckabee, just because of that.

Religion, aside from that one kind of situation, does not influence who I vote for. I tend to be a moderate (independent), anyway.

there are a few running for political office right now I'm voting for a guy in California not because of his faith but because of his politics that and meeting him in person only made my Vote solid he holds him self with such honor and pride that you can tell he is a born leader.

one thing I didn't like about those pages is they called him Pagan I hate it when people call Heathens pagans.

If they make human sacrifices and loot and plunder like in the old days, then why not?
