Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.

Joh 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Joh 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

Joh 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Joh 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

Joh 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Joh 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The verse you are talking about is in John 1:1-14:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and ___the Word was God___. He was with God in the beginning.

___Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made___. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.

He was in the world, and ___though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him___. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.

__The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.__ We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

It says that the Word WAS God. Then it says that the Word (the same Word) became flesh and dwelt among us.

To understand this verse, you have to take it in context. You can't just say "this particular portion that I took didn't say anything about it."

as though we are worth of God demise for us. Yea real. God's son willingly got here to earth to grant his existence for us by way of fact he enjoyed mankind. yet he's not God. If God had died on the circulate who resurrected him? If he did no longer die then he did no longer sacrifice himself for us did he? human beings have self assurance what you say by way of fact they are blinded via devil. (2 Corinthians 3:15, sixteen) 15 in fact, down until eventually at last on the instant on each occasion Moses is study, a veil lies upon their hearts. sixteen yet whilst there's a turning to Jehovah, the veil is taken away. (2 Corinthians 4:3, 4) 3 If, now, the best information we declare is in fact veiled, it relatively is veiled between people who're perishing, 4 between whom the god of this technique of issues has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the astonishing good information with regards to the Christ, who's same to God, ought to no longer shine by using.
