i see no where in bible where God made this change.by laying aside the commandments of God you hold on toman tradtions.
The second Council of Nicea (A.D 787) finalized the establishment of image worship as a necessary part of catholic worship. But it was Constantine ’s decree of March 7, 321 , making Sunday a public holy day, that laid the foundation for their apostasy. The council of Laodicea (c. 337) officially endorsed that first National Sunday law.

GOD ...

Ten Commandments...

Remember the Sabbath and keep it Holy...

The Sabbath is still the Sabbath.

no one has the authority to change the laws of God...

a breakfast meeting the first day of the week does not give reason or validity to changing the Sabbath....

It really doesn't state that it is. Like the guy above me said, Christians made Sunday the day of worship in honor of the day that Christ rose from the dead. But, Just like you said, it don't really matter what day it is, so long as you worship. Saturday's fine if you feel it is right, everyday is best.

BTW whether or not pagans also worshiped on Sunday doesn't really matter. Obviously Christians were something else before they converted and the apostles didn't come to make people become Jew-like (live according to their laws) or adopt their customs. They preaches so that people would come to a belief in Christ. It didn't matter what day they worshiped or why so long as they did.

It would not..... in accordance to historic past Constantine tried to modify Sabbath to Sunday so the Christians can worship with the pagans in honor of sunlight Worship. ....In 321, Constantine decreed, "on the venerable day of the daylight enable the magistrates and human beings residing in cities relax, and enable all workshops be closed" (Codex Justinianus lib. 3, tit. 12, 3; trans. in Philip Schaff, historic past of the Christian Church, Vol. 3, p. 380, word a million.) human beings provide the reason that they honor Sunday now because the Sabbath particularly of Saturday because Christ rose on Sunday. God in no way stated to purpose this. human beings also interpret scripture incorrectly. In Acts it mentions human beings had gotten mutually one Sunday with Paul to wish and worship. in spite of the undeniable fact that, it did not say some thing about the Sabbath being replaced. they in simple terms accrued mutually because Paul changed into leaving day after in the present day. yet another scripture that has been misinterpreted is - So enable no one decide you in nutrition or in drink, or related to a pageant or a sparkling moon or sabbaths, that are a shadow of issues to come back, in spite of the undeniable fact that the substance is of Christ... yet what they don't realize is that there are 2 sabbaths, one is the weekly Sabbath this is in the ten commandments, and the different are ceremonial each and every year sabbaths. The ceremonial guidelines were performed away with even as Christ died, no longer the moral guidelines. Saturday, no longer Sunday is the Sabbath. It changed into made holy at introduction, in the previous there have been even any Jews. God in no way replaced it. He stated save in concepts the seventh Day Sabbath and save it holy.

It doesn't come out and say. But that prompts another question. Where does it say in scripture that the Sabbath(the holy day) is the day of worship? It doesn't! It is the day of rest. Worship is for every day.

So really, no one changed it. Sunday has always been a day of worship, as has been every other day of the week. Saturday CAN still be the day of rest.

Of course, Christ rose from the dead on a Sunday, and the apostles appropriately moved their church services to Sundays (it's right there in the bible).

As for image worship - what image worship? Or do you actually think bowing in front of a statue and lighting candles next to it is worship? If you do, I feel sorry for you. You're missing out. Worship is so very much more than that.

If you're trying to convert the Catholics, this tactic won't work. In fact, it affirms my faith more strongly, as Christ himself said that we would be persecuted because of Him, and that is exactly what you are doing by doggedly spreading misinformation and half truths about us.

You're going to need to try a new tactic if you want to succeed. And, since I have informed you of this, NOT trying a new tactic reveals to me that you simply want to be heard and seen, like the pharisees who gave themselves up to vain repetitions.

Image worship is a violation of one of the ten commandments, but so are many other thinks written in Vatican policy. Hence the name John gives to her, "The Whore of Babylon"

Saturday is the 7th day, the original sabbath. After Christ was resurrected, members of Christ's Church started meeting on Sunday, which was called the Lord's day. Sometime shortly after His ascension into heaven, the Apostles changed it to Sunday, although any records of this have long since been lost.

Any decisions by the Roman Imposter, a couple of centuries later, don't hold any weight. They murdered the Jewish Apostles, and then assumed to themselves the authority to take control of the Church they just almost destroyed.

ACTS 20:7

On the first day of the week when we gathered to break bread (COMMUNION), Paul spoke to them because he was going to leave on the next day, and he kept on speaking until midnight.

The 7th days is still the Sabbath.

Sunday has always been the Lord's Day.Almost everyone of Paul's letters tell us the old covenant has passed away and been broken for those that believe in CHrist, we must follow Christ and his new covenant, celebrated on his day. Read early Christian writings long long before Constatnine such as Justin Martyr, Tertullian, Ireneaus, Hipothylus they all talk of Christians celelbrating on the Lord's Day since the second century. Long before this link you are trying to make.

Assemble on the Lord's Day, and break bread and offer the Eucharist; but first make confession of your faults, so that your sacrifice may be a pure one. [The Didache 14:1 written 60 CE]

And we too rejoice in celebrating the eighth day; because that was when Jesus rose from the dead... [Epistle of Barnabas written 100 CE]

We have seen how former adherents of the ancient customs have since attained to a new hope; so that they have given up keeping the Sabbath, and now order their lives by the Lord's Day instead - the Day when life first dawned for us, thanks to Him (Jesus) and His death. [St. Ignatius of Antioch Epistle to the Magnesians written 110 CE]

And the Council of Laodicea was 336 not 337

There is not a Biblical statement. The Law of Moses clearly states the Sabbath which interpreted means Saturday. If you live by the law, you will be judged by it. The new testament also states that the law of Moses was nailed to the cross with Jesus because Jesus fulfilled the law and told his disciples to teach what he had taught them. Tradition of man was one of the things Jesus spoke against.

You cannot get all your questions about the day of worship proved in scripture. But, the truth remains that sunday is the sabbath for the Lord and it isn't new. May be you are the one new to it! Otherwise, it is a matter of theological debate.

We celebrate our Lord's resurrection on Sunday because that is the day of the week that church tradition states it is. No matter what day of the week it is, we should still worship God all the time, every day, not just by going to church but with our words and actions.

It isn't..... the history of Sunday as the sabbath is actually pagan. You see it is sun worshipers that took sun-day as their holy day. Emperor Constantine actually melded pagan traditions with the christian faith to prevent a holy war..... so christians now celebrate Christmas instead of the winter solstace, Easter instead of the vernal equinox, and Sun-day as the sabbath.

It is actually a really fascinating history which most christians are unaware of (unfortunately). The fact that their holidays are pagan is really quite ironic. Their is also the theory that Christianity is actually disguised sun worship. The son, instead of the sun..... watch zietgiestthemovie.com and the first few minutes will blow your mind. I would stop watching after the religion part because it gets very conspiracy theory after that.... unless you are into that.

Where does it say in Scripture that you should ask this question over and over again?

"The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath." ~Matthew 12:8

"The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath." ~Mark 2:27-28

It doesn't it just happened. I think they met on a separate day of the week to fool the Jews, who met on Saturday. Acts says they met on the first day of the week (sunday) Christ also rose on the first day, and so that could also be a plausable reason, this would be the "Lord's day

Sunday is the seventh day. It is the day on which God rested after creating the heavens and earth.

He was like "Eh, man I gotta chill out now and take the day off, that was totally hard work dude!" and then he rested. Now we all have to do the same after working all week. And of course spend that day going to church none the less.

It does not. But the believers were meeting on the first day of the week (Sunday). We know because Paul gives instruction that begins "When you come together on the first day of the week..."

I think being grateful obedient children of the Most High we need to worship everyday on our own.

My church and I think most churches have worship services more than Sunday.

We have Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

Really?

Wow, I must have must misread my Bible..h-m-m, let me see:

Mark 16:9 (King James Version)

Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.

Do you THINK maybe this verse has something to do with it?

As well:

Acts 20:7 (King James Version)

And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

Heck, I'll just stick with Jesus, Paul, and the disciples, thank you very much!

God, having completed the heavens and the earth, rests from His work, and blesses and sanctifies the seventh day.
