Question:
Were Adam and Eve the real creaters of the world generations? If so by which relation of each other?

If by the christian mythology the Adam and Eve were the first persons to create generations of the World, how it could happen is a pertinent question to be discussed further. According to the same mythology, Adam was created first and thereafter Eve by the God by taking a rib of the Adam. If so, were not Adam and Eve brother and sister in relation to each other? If so how they could get conjugal relations to create their decendents? How many sons and daughters they had from their conjugal relations? Further, did their sons and daughters also had their conjugal relations with each other, despite being brothers and sisters of each other? Do not these conjugal relations look unethical for creation of their further generations in the world?
Please be serious in thought, don't take it casually, as the removal of doubts are essential for the enhancement of knowledge of one and all.
ALL ARE INVITED TO OFFER THEIR FRANK VIEWS. Any scripture from Bible will be appreciated for verification.

According to the Bible, yes, Adam and Eve were the original parents of the entire human race.

I like to think that God had a hand in ensuring that their children would not come out genetically flawed. I mean, if God could create the world out of nothing, I'm sure He can make his creations non-flawed for a while. After all, the circumstances sort of required some divine assistance to get His human project off the ground.

There was also a chapter in Genesis that mentioned that some angels of God came down to earth and took some beautiful women with them and had children with them. That might help explain some of the variety in the bloodlines.

I kind of also think that Adam and Eve weren't the only humans God created. He could have very well created others concurrent or after Adam outside the Garden of Eden. Perhaps He spent more time in creating and developing Adam though. I don't know, it's just a hypothesis.

You also have to consider the fact that all the other humans aside from Noah and his family died in the great flood. That means that even if the children of Adam were flawed, it would be hard to prove since they all died at that point and stopped having descendants. Hopefully, by the time Noah comes around, there was enough of a variety in the blood mixes that genetic defects were few and diluted among the larger generation. Then the whole repopulating the earth would have to start again, but this time, with Noah and his family. Again, I like to think that God didn't stop creating at that point and helped out Noah and his family by preventing diseases and defects from developing in their inbred descendants.

First of all, please don't be so quick to lump the stories of the Bible in with fables and myths. The apostle Paul states the contrary to be true. Secondly Adam was created and God wanted him to have a mate so he fashioned one of his ribs to show the oneness of the marriage relationship. They were created husband and wife. It is impossible to know how many children because the daughters would not have been listed anyway. That is just the way things were back then. We know of Cain who killed his bro Abel. And we know that God gave them Seth/3 that we know of. We also know that by the time Cain killed his brother Adam and Eve had had many more children. OTHERWISE HOW DID CAIN MARRY?

It was Cain who married one of his sisters, not Adam.

Actually, my dad came up with an excellent answer as to WHY God would -permit this. The law had not been given by Moses at that time. The people just didn't know any better.

It does make sense. Hence, the reason to establish laws which WOULD INDEED FORBID PRACTICES TODAY>

I hope that helps

Also, remember Adam and Eve were not only living in a perfect world but in perfect bodies. After they sinned by taking the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they changed and were suseptible to all that ails us. Look at how many years they lived 900 or more in many cases. So the affect of incest would not have destroyed them for many generations. However, we almost immediately see the life-span change after the fall. I will try and look up some scriptures for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It really is an interesting story. The Bible also says to question and pray for clarity. If it isn't logical than it probably can be stated as a myth just like Ancient Greece. Myths are a great way to pass on good lessons. I love many things in the Bible but, most of what I live by is in the New Testament. The Old testament contradicts itself quite often, and other than the Ten Commandments (which is basic logic), it is a very well written myth. I believe that it is good to have beliefs and if you come from a place of love you are moving in a good direction.

First of all it's not a myth ....and God did say He gave Adam a helper/mate..so no brother/sister thing. They had 2 sons to start with...Cain & Abel.. the bible also never said they were the only people..It said God created them in the Garden of Eden.. they were thrown out...

Then you hear of what happened AFTER that....

You yourself need to sit down and read the King James version of the Bible (the New King James would be easier for you to understand) The other versions leave out many scriptures...so men could control and decieve people into believing it was a myth or mame it work for them....

As much truth as you are seeking...God will show you for yourself...

it sure beats the we came from monkeys myth !! When a species evolves, the weaker one dies off..so why are there still monkeys ???

the entire tale of Genesis is an allegory concerning many mystical non secular concepts... later acknowledged in Gnostic, Kabbalah and Western Mystical Traditions (no longer that i'm no longer saying those concepts were created via them). the international created in 7 days = There are seven chakras (or seven steps decrease back to God), the Forbidden Tree of expertise = Kabbalistic Tree Of life / the technique via which non secular unfoldment advances or ascends decrease back to unity with God (sacred geometry), and the Serpent = The Kundalini ability - the flexibility growing to be interior the body / backbone and pierces the chakra ability centres as you progression spiritually - the technique of which has been called the 'serpent growing to be' God created them in 'His image' = a connection with "As Above, So below" from the Emerald pill of Hermes - indicating that the microcosm is a mirrored image of the macrocosm (the actual is a mirrored image of the non secular) and that people are a mirrored image of the author. Adam and Eve were an allegory representing the male and lady factors (duality) of the entire human race in that's infancy, starting up on a experience decrease back in the route of the author. The 'expertise' they gained from eating of the Tree became the flexibility to advance as a civilization. The 'discomfort' in childbirth became an allegory depicting that besides the very undeniable truth that the human race will advance and evolve technologies and do good issues, so would there be greed and hatred, and warfare... that are the 'pains of the beginning of the human race' starting up out on the shape decrease back in the route of God.

Several people here commented that "they didn't know it was wrong" or "it was permitted for procreation."

The one girl hit it on the nose when she said the law wasn't giving to Moses yet, but it goes further. Incest is not prohibited by the bible because it's wrong. Rather, the bible prohibits it, therefore we perceive it as wrong.

G-d defines morality, not the other way around. Therefore, Adam and Eve did give birth to many children (Talmud says that both Cain and Able were born with twins, whom they married) and they had "sons and daughters." Those children married and repopulated the world.

hey adam and eve had 70 sons and daughters according to the lost books of the bible. adam and eve were created perfect so imbreeding if you will, would not have had any genetic consequences. their dna was still pure. these are questions that alot of educated christians wouldnt even be asking if only these books had been cannonized: the books of enoch as follows: 1st enoch=ethipoian book of enoch,

2nd enoch=secrets of enoch(a must read)

& 3rd enoch. btw 2nd enoch aka the secrets of enoch includes the book of noah, the letters of methesulah, and the book of lamech. i would also strongly suggest reading the book of adam and eve part one and part two, as well as the apocalypse of adam. you can find these texts online if you just do a search, possibly the nag hammadi library website has them. sorry dont know the address. i read genesis many times but remained confused about alot of things until i read these other books. just because a bunch of early church leaders decided that they werent good enough to include in our bible doesnt mean a thing. its quite absurd, basicly putting our faith and souls into these mens hands because a pagan emperor of rome (constantine)thought he turned christian and held the council of nicea in 325 ad to decide what books should be accepted into the faith. im not going for that and you shouldn't either. if you'll at least read adam and eve part one and part two you will find the answers to many of your inquiries. moses didnt include near the amount of details that these books contain regarding the time before the flood. genesis is very vague on this. and if you have read the bible as much as i have you will see that these agree with the bible 100 percent, not contradict it as some say.in all there where as many or more books that were not cannonized as were. i have all of them and i cant believe they were not included in our bibles today, however some catholic bibles contain adam and eve part one and two as well as the testaments of the 12 patriarchs. people need to stop taking others words for it and read and investigate things for themselves. how would you know if somethings good or bad unless you find it for yourself. theres way more information handed down than just what constantine in 325 or king james in 1611 gave approval on.

Several of you have given answers based on Biblical knowledge. If one is not familiar with the Bible, (or Torah) then it would appear as their own "opinion".

Another thing that wasn't mentioned here was the giants and wickedness that was in the land at that pre-flood time. Archaeologists have found fossil records of these beings as well.

What separates us from God? One thing. Sin. The wages of sin is death. (Without the shedding of blood there is no remission from sin.) That is what brought the impurity that resulted in the sickness and disease that could be carried down through the generations. The adversary told Eve, surely thou will not die. Maybe not that very second, but to my knowledge, she is dead.

Even today there still are animals that are not effected by inbreeding or line breeding. However, back in Bible times there were people that God warned the children of Israel not to marry. (Especially idol worshippers, sun worshippers, heathen, etc.)

I believe this would have included much of what we call "christianity" today due to the pagan/heathen mix that defiled (many, not all of) the original followers of the way.

Those that didn't hide away in caves to avoid being killed as "heretics" for not defiling themselves with heathen customs, holidays, and SUN day worship in place of the Sabbath or disobedience to the Commandments of God.

The Followers of the Way were originally considered a jewish sect that followed their jewish leader (Yeshua's) example.

I believe sin is what caused our sickness and diseases. If you read on further in the Old Testament, incest is forbidden there as well as marrying your father's wife, etc.

Yeshua (Yah's Salvation) died for our sickness and sins. "By his stripes we are healed".

No, if was here-say stories passed down for generations. HT book of Genesis even says that. That Noah wrote down the stories passed down to him....If you will examine the book of Genesis, there are numerous errors as to the timing of everything. Chapter one says one order while chapters has it in another order.

The earth evolved, but just as people have a very hard time accepting the truth now ... the facts sure would have been hard to accept back then.

God has always used parables to explain what we cannot understand. The creation account is just that.

ive wondered the same kind of thing... if there were only adam and eve to start, there kids would have to have sex to keep things going. thats incest.

its a proven, biological fact, that a limited (incestual) gene pool, eventually dies out. it causes mental retardation and physical problems (there are still communities today that belive only in imbreeding, scientists study them. i had a professor that did research on it)

so if everyones sleeping with their mother, father, brother, or sister... how did humans not die out years and years (and years and years) ago?

im sorry i dont have a real answer to the question... im just as confused as you are.

Doesn't make alot of sense.

A thousand generations of incest would ensure that all it takes to kill everyone is a single disease.

Five generations of incest lions and Cheetahs in isolated parts of Africa are decimated by single dieases.

There's no way man kind could have survived through that much genetic flaw compounding.

The Creation narrative was written to tell spiritual truths as opposed to historical facts. Might also be the reason that we don't see descendants of the off-springs of angels and men that was supposed to happen just before Noah!!!!!
