Question:
Atheism is NOT the theory of evolution, and the theory of evolution is NOT atheism. Agree?

When will Christians finally understand that atheism is NOT the theory of evolution, and that the theory of evolution is NOT atheism?

Their weak faith and fear of the truth is why BAD Christians deliberately confuse the issues!

The Pope, Catholic Church, Church of England and mainstream churches all accept the big bang and evolution!

Lord Carey the former Archbishop of Canterbury put it rather well – “Creationism is the fruit of a fundamentalist approach to scripture, ignoring scholarship and critical learning, and confusing different understandings of truth”!

Nice that christians and atheists can agree and laugh together even if it is at fundie expense!

But behind the laughter is the despair at the fundamentalists striving so hard to destroy christianity by turning it from a religion to an ideology!

Surveys suggest that 29% of American christians are so extremist in their beliefs that they fall well outside of the accepted bounds of christianity!

Just fundamentalists striving so hard to destroy christianity by turning it from a religion to an ideology!

I only agree in a small way. While technically you are correct, the theory of Evolution including the Big Bang Theory makes it seem as if God is irrelevant. If God had nothing to do with the Creation of the Universe, the Creation of Life and does not intervene in daily events in public life and our personal lives then He would hardly fit the description of a God and who would care whether He existed or not?

Also, the theory of Evolution teaches a Universe that is only dead matter and mindless energy. It denies the existence of anything supernatural. Since God is Spirit, the World view that the Hypotheses of Evolution teaches makes it impossible to believe in God.

Now of course, if God did not exist and the Hypothesis of Evolution were true that would be fine. Only that is not true. God is very real. He created everything in the universe and He created all life. The hypothesis of Evolution is completely impossible according to many scientific laws. I will not discuss this with you as I'm sure you don't know enough science to understand what I am talking about and even if you do. People have been so brainwashed into believing this ludicrous Hypothesis that I'm sure your mind is closed to anything you don't already believe.

How could that not be correct?

Atheism means you don't believe in Gods.

Evolution is a scientific theory.

There is no connection.

Atheism predates both the theory of evolution and the theory of christianity.

Yes I Agree.... Atheism is By definition means Foolishness with Madness

Charles Darwin failed miserably in his quest to validate his argument on Evolution.

God created the Heaven and Earth as the Holy Bible declares (Genesis 1:1). Don't put faith in theories. Have faith in God.

Charles Darwin did not use good logic in his famous book, "The Origin of Species."

W.R. Thompson, a Canadian entomologist(entomology-study of insects) of international repute, wrote in his introduction to the centennial edition of Darwin's Origen, "Darwin did not show in the Origin that species had originated by natural selection; he merely showed, on the basis of certain facts and assumptions, how this might have happened, and as he had convinced himself he was able to convince others.

Chapter 4 of the Origin, entitled "Natural Selection; or the Survival of the Fittest," occupies 44 pages in the 1958 mentor edition. In this chapter Darwin used the language of speculation, imagination, and assumption at least 187 times. For example, pages 118 and 119 contain the following phrases; "may have been," "is supposed to," perhaps," "If we suppose," "may still be," 'it is probable," "will generally tend," "may" "will generally tend," 'If," 'if...assumed," "supposed," "supposed," "probably," "It seems, therefore, extremely probable," and "We may suppose." Is this really the language of science? No, it is not.

Of Darwin's speculative arguments Thompson wrote, "....Personal convictions, simple possibilities, are presented as if they were proofs, or at least valid arguments in favor of the theory....The demonstration can be modified without difficulty to fit any conceivable case. It is without scientific value, since it cannot be verified; but since the imagination has free rein, it is easy to convey the impression that a concrete example of real transmutation (change of one species to another) has been given."

I agree.

Still, it is possible to be a Christian and an intelligent person at the same time.

Its not fair to call all Christians idiots any more than it is fair to say all atheists are damned.

Everyone can read the gospels and still be reasonable and tolerant.

Agree.

But theism is pretty much the only reason to not believe in evolution, while evolution is a strong reason not to believe religion. So there are theists who believe in evolution, and theists who don't, and atheists who do, but there are hardly any atheists who don't believe in evolution.

I've never met anyone who thinks evolution has anything to do with atheism. Doesn't surprise me though. My father-in-law is convinced all homosexuals are pedophiles.

I agree. Atheism is when you don't believe in a god(s) or goddess. There's nothing more to it. We're not scientists, we don't don't how the universe came into creation. I accept Evolution though.

For those Christians who do not accept the theory of evolution it is not a failure to understand it is a refusal to understand. They understand enough about it to be terrified by it because it is a threat to their faith.
2012-05-11 21:17:59 UTC
agree.

the deal is christians want atheism to be a religion and they want evolution to be a part of the dogma, this is so they compare the two on a equal footing and declare they have chosen christianity from two equal philosophies they can then use pascals wager to rationalise that choice. keep in mind though that they are victims in this as this is what their pastors teach them.

It is true that one does that predicate the other though I don't think I've met an atheist that didn't see the evidence for evolution.

When atheists and evolutionists finally understand that christians have no interest in either.Christians don't "follow"atheists, evolutionist or any other antichristians around trying to make them the same.Remember it is atheists, evolutionists and others that are antichristian that follow bible believing christians around to ***,mock, name call, etc. They tell christians they need to deny God,reject Jesus and who He is,they LOL at christians,*** christians that mention prayer or a sick family member or friend.I have no interest in either beliefs or demands.I am interested in each one having salvation.I do not follow them around *** & to mock them.I will mention Jesus and the gospel if they come with their crudeness.

I know. Do those loons understand that most normal Christians are cool with evolution?

Yes, very strongly agree.

agree, under that term of definition

however, atheism often uses the THEORY of evolution as proof that God does not exist.

its a strawman argument

christains are not likely to ever understand what it means to be an atheist

somehow it is to complicated for them to grasp that an atheist is merely someone who doesn't believe in a god or gods

there are plenty of religions that don't have gods, they are also considered atheists, there are plenty of scientists who believe in god

I don't know how this is to complicated to grasp but it sure makes me tired thinking about it

It requires a logical mind to realize that. Sooo it won't happen.
2012-05-11 21:11:48 UTC
Tru, but almost all atheists are also evolutionists.
