Question:
If you're at work and two employees told you to do something because the boss said?

but they both told you different versions and ways to do the job. Wouldn't you check first with the boss to make sure you were hearing it from him/her and you're going to do the right thing?

If so why oh why do people listen to self appointed employees of gods and do what they say instead of hearing it from the boss itself?

If you hear nothing you take your own initiative until you hear otherwise from someone who has the real power.

to make it worse, these middlemen printed out manuals claiming to be the boss' instructions and each claims his manual is the real and original and truthful one and all the others should be done away with.

so really, it's up to the intelligent person to decide what to take from where and listen to his inner voice that tells him (or her) how life is to be lived.

That's not really a valid analogy.

Imagine you and 100 other people are stranded in the desert, and 85 of those people claim that there is an oasis just over the next ridge. Many of them disagree over the number of palm trees, but they all agree about the direction and distance. Some claim to have seen it, others just claim to have heard about it.

You are better off asking the boss instead of listening to them.

Think from the boss' perspective!

He has asked all employees to do the same job and given employees brain to think before each one does it!

He has also given them the guidelines and the set of rules in his book!

How annoyed would he be when they still wait on him without doing their duty?

Same is with God!

I agree, and our conscience and the way we feel about what righ and wrong is what we should take as God sent not what a whole of hypocritical preachers tell us. The best way to God is to be good to man kind and not harm anyone. Worship is extra and it is not worth it when one worships but is horrible to people, animals and the environment.

I check with my boss.

Go to the person who is the one who can fire you for doing the job in the wrong way and ask him or her.

'Cause the boss is out to lunch, and you have nothing but your own reason and common sense to rely on.
