Why would a loving God allow a 5 year old Iraqi boy to be doused in gasoline and then burned by evil people?

This is probably one of the worst stories to come out of the Iraq war.

Masked men doused a fire year old boy with gasoline and set fore to him.

I asked the question "why would God allow this". I'm sure others ask this too.

Why are such things allowed to happen in this world? God loves everyone, doesn't he? Why wouldn't he intervene? Where was he when this happened?

This is a horrible story. I couldnt click on the link, just what you typed alone is enough for me. I am a Christian and sometimes it is hard as a human to understand why God doesnt stop all of the violence and mayhem. At the same time, I have faith that with the free will system that He has established that those who are evil will be punished. You know the cliche the "devil made me do it?" Well, the devil cant make you do anything, however I believe without a shadow of a doubt he is greatly influencing people everywhere. God doesnt step in because of this free will concept; hence it would take away the free will of all (including the evil jerks). The good news is He is alive and can greatly bless us through the most harrowing of times. Your question is a very common and good question as its hard for us to understand all of the workings of God.

Your question is unanswerable. The incident which you describe, horrendous as it is, is only one of countless horrific events which occur, often daily. Why would the Christian god have allowed the 9/11 terrorism to happen? I am agnostic at least partially for the reason that I can not reconcile the hideous nature of life on earth with a benevolent god, and rationalizing those on the basis of free will or as the work of the infidels or evil does not satisfy my questioning consciousness. Perhaps if you are inclined to embrace a belief in god, yet can not relate it to the apparent errors in the mundane world, you might adopt a deistic approach in which creation itself was the work of deity who then abandoned the project to proceed however it might. Almost all of humanity surely knows right from wrong, yet many commit acts for which there is no redeeming reason.

Why blame God? He didn't do it. The question I ask is, "How can anyone be so evil as to do that?" Obviously, people can be that evil.



I don't see anywhere in the Bible that God promises that we would not suffer while on Earth. Many early Christians were stoned to death and crucified. Jesus Himself was tortured to death.



God allows us to have a free will and those men are not exempt from this right. He is also a just God and will judge us all one day.



God can be with us in our suffering and help us overcome our trials. I would much rather do this than go it alone.

I never ask this question. Knowing the truth about God helps with questions like these. First, the Bible tells us "When under trial, let no one say:" I am being tried by God."For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone."{James 1:13} Also the Bible tells us who really is the ruler of this system of things.1 John 5:19 tells us "We know we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one{Satan the Devil}. But of course God is not going to let this go on forever, The Bible also helps us to appreciate this one fact:"On this account, be glad you Heavens and you who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to you, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time".{Revelation 12:12} So we can see that the Devil only has a little while longer on this earth. And if we want to be a part of the restored conditions on earth, we have to come to an accurate knowledge of God and his son Jesus Christ.{John 17:3}

This action did not come from God this action came from man kind. It is man kind who is doing the evil here not God. I assure you the devil is behind alot of this. He nit picks until he has someone to follow him and in doing so they end up doing wrong, very wrong, and without Faith they have no idea how sinful they truly are. God is able to punish these men in this life or allow them to carry this sin all the way to judgment.

Your question about God is only half of what needs to be answered... God neither allowed nor stood against this act because there is no god. The rest of the question is just as important... what are WE going to do about it.
