FIRST QUESTION:

An ATHEIST dies languishing on his death-bed. Being troubled about the case of his soul in the after-life, he chose to discard his old beliefs and follow GOD. But the one who persuaded him to CHANGE his former views was a Jehovah's Witnesses. (< Or anyone who for YOU is NOT a true Christian). It was then that he breathed his last and to paraphrase a line from Scripture, "gave up the ghost."

Now the question for you IS: Would it be better for him to remain an ATHEIST than to accept "another Christ" which for most of you is "cultic" and a teaching that is CONTRARY to the beliefs you hold on to?

Or are you happy that he became a believer despite the fact that the one who "converted" him ISN'T a "true" Christian based on YOUR "brand" of Christianity?

WILL HE GO TO HEAVEN?

A Murderer and a Rapist who raped AND killed innocent Catholic women lies dying on his death-bed. But, unlike the ATHEIST on our first illustration, this man believes in GOD---only he worships “idols” … and Catholics, for NON-Catholic Christians are regarded as “idol-worshippers.” (Come on, Christians be honest. That’s how you see them). On his death-bed a BORN-AGAIN Christian Pastor (good for him) made him say “the sinner’s prayer” in-a-manner Jack T. Chick would, making his choice to receive JESUS as his “personal Lord & Savior.” After that “he breathed his last” and left this earth to face “The Judge.” Well most of you know what would happen in “the after-life” right? In spite of ALL the horrible things he’d done, because of saying a sinner’s prayer and accepting JESUS as his Lord & Savior, he DOESN’T have to pay the consequences cus all his sins have been “covered” by the blood OF Jesus on the cross! Heaven rings its bells, and all the angels chime in to welcome him into the pearly gates. No problem for him … he’s Scott-free!

NOW HERE’S THE QUESTION:

What about the SOULS of the women he raped AND killed? Would there be NO justice for them in the after-life all because their sinful IDOLATROUS CATHOLICS? Would the merciful and ALL-just JUDGE not hear their plaintive cries for justice? These girls have been good most (not all since no one is perfect) of their lives to their parents and friends and have hurt NO one. Their ONLY fault is that they’re ROMAN CATHOLICS and unless one leaves CATHOLICISM (for non-Catholic Christians) and be “born-again” one cannot get “saved.” After enduring “hell” in the hands of a man in THIS life, will they have to endure another painful, tormenting “hell” in the afterlife in mind AND heart only because they picked up the “wrong religion?” and worshipped GOD "the wrong way?"

HOW would YOU like to be in the place of THOSE Catholic girls?

God is interested in motives and matters of the heart more so than the actions it leads to and since we can't discern those in other people and barely in our own personality we are not equipped to judge other people.



The scenarios you mention convey calculated options and all the maths in the world won't save a person who comes to God with a heart that is not sincere. In contrast a sincere heart that is technically wrong is not automatically discarded because we will be judged according to the light we have been shown so those who have greater knowledge have more accountability.



The labels are a human thing and God looks to the heart.

Hi, Rai. Sorry for the late reply, but I've been on the phone to my granny for a while :)



1) I have to agree with Still Thinking's argument. Each case is between the individual and God. It is not for man to judge, but God Himself. He judges the condition of the heart and the motives according to the knowledge we have been given.



The Scriptures do make it clear though that God will send a strong delusion to those who delight in wickedness so that they will be condemned. Do you think a man who spends his whole life mocking God can just repent at the last moment because now he's had his fun and wants to enjoy the rest of eternity?



Once again, this is for God to decide, not me. My judgment is imperfect and incomplete, but God is perfect. Each person's situation is unique and God deals with no two persons the same way. He knows the heart and He will judge accordingly.



2) Once again, it doesn't work like that. God knows the heart and He judges according to the knowledge that rapist/murderer had been given. If that person delighted in wickedness and evil and knew it was wrong, do you think he can just say a 'sinner's prayer' and escape the consequences of what he has done? His own words from his conscience (his spirit) will condemn him when he stands before the Almighty. Nothing that could ever defile Heaven will be allowed into it. Especially someone like that.



True repentance is being genuinely sorry for your sins. It's about making a commitment that comes from the heart and a decision to never again commit the sin. You realize that you were wrong and want to change. That person who rapes and murders and delights in wickedness with the idea that he can just "repent" at the last moment to save his skin cannot truly repent with that in mind. Maybe if he is so sorry from his heart that he wishes he could turn back the clock and undo everything he has done. Maybe, just maybe if he is so sorry that he feels like living in perpetual sorrow and regret for his actions for the rest of his life. Maybe then will the Lord hear him and prepare him to be saved. But there are no guarantees. The Lord is the judge and that person will be judged in perfect justice with no impartiality. I can't judge him because I can't know the condition of his heart and what he did with his knowledge.



Salvation is not about saying the 'sinner's prayer'. It's about knowing the Lord Jesus Christ and having an intimate personal relationship with Him. Literally. You have to die to self and live for Him. That is what it means to make Him lord of your life. You have to walk with Him every second of every day and listen to His soft voice. You receive His Holy Spirit who speaks to your conscience, guides you into all truth and righteousness and warns you and helps you abstain from sin. When you ignore His soft voice, you reject the Holy Spirit and you reject God and you are not suitable for His Kingdom.



Your denomination can't save you. Your works cannot save you. Church can't save you. Pew warming can't save you. Tithing cannot save you. Religion can't save you. Meaningless words can't save you. Only a relationship and walk with Jesus in spirit and truth can save you. And there are no guarantees.



Those Catholic girls will be judged according to their own unique circumstances in the light of God's eyes. It is not for me to judge them.
