Question:
According to the Holy Bible, what was the reason for the Great Flood? Involving Naoh?

I just read it and I'm shocked at the reason. It was always preached to me that it was because of the sins of mankind and God was angry or displeased. I am now confused, and asking for your guidance. What does this mean? Was there a non-human factor? The Holy Bible called them The Nephlim. They were described as giants.

The Holy Bible is a complete work of fiction, put together in stages by illiterate parasites, of course it's confusing.

The Flood story is described in the book of Genesis. Genesis never comes out and says when the Flood happened. Centuries later, churchmen looked through the Bible and looked at the genealogies, and used them to estimate when the Flood and the Beginning happened. They then took those estimates and pinned them down to an exact date. How they went from a rough estimate to choosing a specific date is probably one of those examples of what passed for scholarship in the Middle Ages: when you don't have information on something, make something up (I'm not bashing religion here; that's how people studied history back then). I'm still confused how they worked out even a rough date based on the genealogies, considering that the genealogies disagree significantly with one another. It's possible the guy who worked it out chose one of the two and ignored the other (much like how most people are interested in the first Ten Commandments, given in Ex. 20, and ignore the second set, which was given in Ex. 34).

Genesis 6:1-8

1 When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. 3 Then the LORD said, “My Spirit will not contend with[a] humans forever, for they are mortal[b]; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.”

4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.

5 The LORD saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. 6 The LORD regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. 7 So the LORD said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.” 8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.

This is real story of the Deluge (Genesis 6:1-7). You will never find this narration in the Bible as the Hebrew and Christian Bibles are nothing but a condensed version of the texts unearthed in Sumer.

Because the Bible that we know lacks so many details of many biblical events, it became the subject of many gross misinterpretations.

Here is the real story!

God (the God of Eden) was angered when the Sons of God ( Nefilims - which the church and organized religion described as fallen angels or giants but actually meant "those who from heaven came to earth") found the Daughters of Men beautiful and started cohabiting with them. The Divine beings learned that they are physically compatible with the daughters of men and children were born by their union. The good life became the main concern of the Divine Beings and and their dedication to the work assigned to them by God of Eden (The Head of the Mission) was practically forgotten and became secondary.

He anticipated this to happen and viewed the deterioration in the mores and ethics of the Divine Being with great concern. The growing bond between the sons of God and the descendants of Adam was not to His liking. And this "excessive conjugation" served as the prelude to the story of "The Great Deluge"

The Lord of the MIssion, the God of Eden, knew all along that the ice cap in Antartica had become unstable and its slippage will cause floods and tidal waves enough to submerged all of Earth. When the certainty of the deluge was confirmed, He convened the Assembly of Gods (Refer to Psalms 82:1 & 6. This will prove that an Assembly of Gods (Divine Beings) existed) and convinced the Great Assembly to wipe mankind off the face of earth using the Flood.

The Serpent God, the God who created "Adam and Eve" in his abode in Africa. was not happy with the Assembly's decision and sought ways to frustrate the plan. He warned his faithful worshipper Utnapishtin (the Biblical Noah) and built for him a "Tibatu" (submersible ship - the Biblical Ark) that could withstand the avalanche of water. The purpose of the Serpent God is to preserve the seed of all life on earth, especially the seed of mankind, which he painstakingly created. He provided Utnapishtin a navigator to direct the ark to the "Mount of Salvation" - Mount Ararat.

The writings unearthed in Mesopotamis described at length the events of the Deluge as follows:

"The billions of tons of ice sheet that has covered the south pole for millions of years slipped into the waters of the Antartic and caused immeasurable tidal waves rolling to the other side of the planet. The slippage caused a sudden change of temperature thus creating violent storms, thunderstorms and torrential rain. Accellerating at a speed faster than the tidal waves, the storm and torrents of rains darkened the skies and preceded the huge waves"

"On the day of the deluge, the Divine Beings, lifted up on their "chariots of fire" Their fired up "horses of fire" and "whirlwind" set the land ablaze with their glare. This was the signal for Utnapishtin(Noah) to close the door of his submersible ship. Watching the total destruction from the skies, the Divine Beings were shocked to see the onslaught of the tidal waves below. Everything on earth was swept off in one colossal avalanche of water. Some of the gods wept like women in travail. The tidal waves and torrential rains swept the soil away, leaving behind miles-thick layers of mud. All that had been created turned back to clay.

When the rain stopped and the gods noticed the unexpected quick and constant receding of water, the other gods, who had no idea on what the Seprent God did, viewed the catasthrope from above -and to their surprise- and out of nowhere, the Tibatu (Biblical Ark) appeared, heading towards the top of Mt. Ararat in Armenia.

There was elation and celebration when the Divine Beings landed in Mt. Ararat. "The seed of mankind was saved" They exclaimed."

This is the story of the Deluge as written in the tablets unearthed in Sumer. You can either believe it or trash it.

As for me, this is the real story!

By the way I am a Christian!

The first reason is correct, it was because of sins. The Nephlim may have been a group of people. I'm not exactly sure what you are reading, but you may be taking things literally. God may be using the word giants to describe the magnitude of their sin.

Akkadian creation and flood myth (written around 1650 BCE, the earliest found in clay tablets):

Tablet I contains a creation myth about the Sumerian gods Anu, Enlil, and Enki, gods of sky, wind, and water, "when gods were in the ways of men" according to its incipit. Following the Cleromancy (casting of lots), sky is ruled by Anu, earth by Enlil, and the freshwater sea by Enki. Enlil assigned junior divines to do farm labor and maintain the rivers and canals, but after forty years the lesser gods or dingirs rebelled and refused to do strenuous labor. Instead of punishing the rebels, Enki, who is also the kind, wise counselor of the gods, suggested that humans be created to do the work. The mother goddess Mami is assigned the task of creating humans by shaping clay figurines mixed with the flesh and blood of the slain god Geshtu-e, "a god who had intelligence".

Tablet II begins with more overpopulation of humans and the god Enlil sending first famine and drought at formulaic intervals of 1200 years to reduce the population. In this epic Enlil is depicted as a nasty capricious god while Enki is depicted as a kind helpful god, perhaps because priests of Enki were writing and copying the story. Tablet II is mostly damaged, but ends with Enlil's decision to destroy humankind with a flood and Enki bound by an oath to keep the plan secret.

Tablet III of Atrahasis tells how the god Enki warns the hero Atrahasis ("Extremely Wise") of Shuruppak, speaking through a reed wall to dismantle his house (perhaps to provide a construction site) and build a boat to escape the flood planned by the god Enlil to destroy humankind. The boat is to have a roof "like Apsu" (a subterranean, fresh water realm presided over by the god Enki), upper and lower decks, and to be sealed with bitumen. Atrahasis boards the boat with his family and animals and seals the door. The storm and flood begin. After seven days the flood ends and Atrahasis offers sacrifices to the gods. Enlil is furious with Enki for violating his oath. But Enki denies violating his oath and argues: "I made sure life was preserved." Enki and Enlil agree on other means for controlling the human population.

*biblical creation and flood story were copied from myths of earlier civilization. No archaeological or documentary evidence of biblical story, while archaeological evidence left by clay tablets of Epic of Gilgamesh and Atrahashi's accounts were found. Biblical stories were written not earlier than 1000 BCE, and in fact was put in writing at around 450 BCE during the Great Assembly of men on Moses Law. The Old Testament was canonized between 400 BCE to 200 AD.

the Nephlim were unbelievers in god who trained their children to be wicked and evil

this is why god destroyed the earth

KJV: Genesis 6:5.

And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

WELL, the Bible also states lots of things that are misinterpreted or withheld. Such as the fact that if a woman is married after she has lost her virginity, she must be killed.

It's "Noah" first off. Second, it's because the sins of the people. They were just like many folk today. They refused to hear the gospel and decided instead to fulfill their own lusts and sinful desires. They never took heed the word of God. That's why they perished. It's kinda like what's going to happen in today's time when Jesus returns. Except this time, God is so loving he will not kill off everyone. Rather, many people will get left behind to battle with Satan for their unbelief. Seems like fair game to me. At least they don't go straight to hell and have a chance to redeem themselves. All of Noah's generation went straight to hell. Everyone on Earth at the time except for Noah and his family.

God had a hissy fit. That's all.

It was back before he was given all of those attributes like Love, Mercy and Justice. Back then He was Jealous and that's about it.

Luckily we know God never changes.

Oh, right. He used to back then. see rainbows.
