Asatru/Heathen Question: Musicians?

Dan Ralph Miller posted on an Asatru Y!Group that he made some Heathen Hip-Hop music.... (Can someone please tell me what the hell Hip-Hop is? I assume it means Rap?).... and this made me wonder, what other kinds of Heathen Music are their? I only know about Metal, Folk, Metal, and Metal ;)

Are there any Heathen Rappers? Is there Heathen Reggae? Please I need something! I LOVE Heathen Music, but I can't stand to listen to the same genre of Music all the time, I need variety!

lol that would be interesting hearing rap about the great Lord Tyr but then again you would only have to take old poems and give em a beat to do it.

the second one isn't at all heathen but by the same guy and funny as all hell. but the first one strikes the heart.

Why shouldn't there be heathen hip hop? Some people like that genre of music like I like heathen music from Wardruna to Damh the Bard to Blackmore's Night to Tyr. The Sagas and the Eddas had a little rhyme to them, why not put a backbeat on there? If it gets the word passed down through the generations then it works.



I listen to Slipknot & Shinedown to Tyr to Joan Baez to Allison Kraus to Beethoven. Depends on the mood. Today was hip hop Friday and I listened to 50 Cents & Eminem - not my favs but everyone has something to day - some just say it in a different way. I don't have to like it but I know how to change the channel.

But seriously, I don't know crap about Hip-Hop, but when I'm not listening to metal, I'm listening to Acid rock or Punk... none of which is heathen at all.

Okay, joke aside, there are quite a few pagan bands, mostly folk, folkish rock, even country, lots of newage-ish music...

Wouldn't know about specifically Heathen though. Maybe Noddy can name some, I'll start this Q.

LOL not all music you listen has to be religious Bobby. I wouldn't want to listen to Scandinavian death metal all day either.
