I'll assume that you have at least the unbaptized publisher privilege, and that's why you are asking this question (again and again).

If you are a mature christian, you know that our goal is to serve our God and make people get closer to him, so doing something that could do the contrary effect is not wise at all.

I'm not going to give you my personal opinion because that's not the case, but I'm going to give you some verses better, and you, as a mature christian, would read and meditate. Make use of your JW privileges, I mean pray and ask Jehovah for portion of holy spirit that help you take the best decision.

Here the verses:

1Corinthians 8:3

Matthew 18:6

Romans 14:21

2 Corinthians 11:29

I'm pretty sure, that if you are a truly JW that want to please our God, you are going to take the best decision and help any other people to chose according with truth.

Ear piercings are fine. Mine are pierced.

As far as tattoos and other piercings, you are correct that they are not forbidden. The Bible doesn't say you you can't have them done. However, they are still inappropriate for a Christian.

The Bible says to be "modest" in dress and grooming. Tattoos and piercings show rebellion and JWs want a clean image.

I have seen some JWs with tattoos. One got it before he became a JW and the other grew up as a JW. I hadn't seen her in years and then saw she had one, so I figured she must have left the truth when she was younger.

The only one who I know who got nose piercing while a JW, was my sister. But she was inactive and hanging around a really bad woman who influenced her to get it done.

Yet another new account and anonymous

In the OT, cutting or marking of the body was associated with pagan idolatry so it was forbidden by Jehovah. Today some still make a religious/satanist statement with such mutiliations so it is surely best to avoid them, isnt it.

However if you had them before you learned Gods viewpoint, it would be acceptable. In fact there were some huge ex hells angels at the last convention, covered from neck downwards in tatoos. But they were lovely kindly brothers. I expect they have to be very careful when knocking on doors though

Consider the following information from a Bible-based article published by Jehovah's Witnesses:

"For some, a tattoo is a way of making a grand romantic gesture. Michelle relates: “On his ankle my brother has the name of a girl he used to go out with.” The problem? “He’s not dating her anymore.” According to Teen magazine, “doctors estimate that more than 30 percent of all tattoo removal is done on teen girls who want the name of an ex-boyfriend taken off.”

Some youths view tattoos as works of art. Others see them as symbols of independence. “I’m in charge of my life,” proclaimed Josie, adding that getting a tattoo was “the only life decision I’ve ever made.” Tattooing allows some youths to experiment—to feel they have control over their appearance. Tattoos can also serve as a symbol of rebellion or of alternative life-styles. Some tattoos thus contain obscene words and drawings or provocative slogans.

The majority of youths, however, may simply have become caught up in a fad. But just because it seems as if everyone is getting tattooed, does it mean that you should?

The Ancient Art of Tattooing

Tattooing is by no means a modern practice. Tattoo-bearing Egyptian and Libyan mummies have been found that date back hundreds of years before the time of Christ. Tattooed mummies have also been found in South America. Many of the tattooed images were directly related to the worship of pagan gods. According to researcher Steve Gilbert, “the earliest known tattoo that is a picture of something, rather than an abstract pattern, represents the god Bes. In Egyptian mythology Bes is the lascivious god of revelry.”

Significantly, the Mosaic Law forbade God’s people to tattoo themselves. Said Leviticus 19:28: “You must not make cuts in your flesh for a deceased soul, and you must not put tattoo marking upon yourselves. I am Jehovah.” Pagan worshipers, such as the Egyptians, tattooed the names or symbols of their deities on their breast or arms. By complying with Jehovah’s ban on tattoo markings, the Israelites would stand out as different from other nations.—Deuteronomy 14:1, 2.

While Christians today are not under the Law of Moses, the prohibition it laid on tattooing is sobering. (Ephesians 2:15; Colossians 2:14, 15) If you are a Christian, you would certainly not want to make markings on your body—even temporarily—that smack of paganism or false worship.—2 Corinthians 6:15-18."

How do you think God and other view piercings and tattoos? Do you think they might be a stumbling block for some? Consider this information and your honest, sincere answers to those questions then make the decision for yourself.

You have been learning from the wrong source, sweetie! This does not come from us.

Normal, traditional ear piercing with sisters, is acceptable, but beyond that, is not acceptable and tattoos are out of the question, if one wants to please Jehovah!

A young married sister in our hall, left the truth for a while and in the rebellion of the moment, got a tattoo on her foot and regrets it deeply, but can do nothing about it! She was not a witness then but is now.

It is against God's commands to pierce the temple (body) of God. Read the word of God in Leviticus 19:28 where it is not permitted to pierce or mutilate the body.
