Question:
I Need Help With My Religion?
2011-10-01 18:03:55 UTC
Hi, im a 16 year old born again christian..And i have a few questions?? I would appriciate the most honest of answers. If they are unneccessary and hurtful, i WILL by all means disregard them.

A while back, i prayed to God for my sins and asked him for forgiveness. I want to know if these are good things/habits: I have suddenly developed a problem with hearing cursewords even though i used to curse a bit;
On my ipod, i deleted all vulgar songs, and in my movie inventory i stick to kids/family movies because they are the "cleanest";
I now cry when i pray;
Whenever i have a negative thought, i immediatley tell myself that its wrong and quote one of Jesus' commandments in my head;
I got angry once and pushed a guy, then immediatley after i left, got away and cried to God asking for him to forgive me;
I feel bad about not being able to find a church;

I know its long, but i so desperatley need help..I just need some guidance...please.? Thank you.

Dearest A:

Continue to resist the Devil and he will flee from you.

Your sensitivity to sin tells all of Heaven that you are a child of God. Where Christians get in trouble is when they make excuses for bad behavior. Alabis are not repentance. That entails struggling and pleading with God as you "work out your salvation with fear and trembling."

Rest assured that Jesus is at your side when you pray or agonize over profanity. Personally, I hate going to people's house and having to sit with the slutty t.v. spewing corrupting media.

Isaiah 33:14 "Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?

33:15 He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil [television];

33:16 He shall dwell on high: his place of defence [shall be] the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters [shall be] sure.

33:17 Thine eyes shall see [Jesus] the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land [HEAVEN] that is very far off.

Blessings, Messiah

I'm am very pleased to see that God has received another soul. This is a calling from God, he has called for you to follow him. Don't question anything about your faith. It is wonderful that you feel as curse words, vulgar songs, and some movies have gone against God. Crying when you pray does no harm, it will just open the doors to God even farther. Living by the 10 commandments is the right thing to do on a daily basis. Maybe you have some friends that attend a church and you could go with them to see what you think. or maybe just go by yourself sometime. their is no harm in it, and in the long run you will feel even better. Praise the Lord.It sounds like you are pretty sensitive to the Holy Spirit.As far as churches you might try looking up Calvary Chapel .They are all over the world and there might be one in your area.It's a non-Denominational fellowship that teaches verse by verse through the Bible or topical studies.They always start the service by everyone singing worship songs to the Lord together.There are a lot of Pentecostal and Baptist churches around that are right on also.Just pray about it and start trying some and see where you feel like you fit in.The Lord won't let you down.God bless.

they are good- i think you are simply in "the state of grace"- Have you found "fear of the Lord" recently?? (its that experience where your praying and you are overwhelmed with emotion and ,like go crazy for God- i don't know your religion, but for Catholics it most commonly occurs in adoration), if so- this is most likely the case, i was in it at one point this summer and i yelled at my friend for wearing a bikini -if you haven't had "fear of the Lord" recently(but you've had it before) it might be a spiritual gift, if you've haven't found "fear of the Lord" yet- this may be a sign that you need to, or that God is calling to to do something,don't worry- use this to your best advantage by letting it help you sin less and become a more holy person, don't worry, just pray and seek motivation from the bible(it best to randomly flip it open and start reading) and try hard to find a local church-God does everything for a reason

Sorry, but I don't see what the problem is.

It sounds like you are born again by God's Holy Spirit and He is changing you on the inside so that you will be more like the Lord Jesus.

If you want to find a church, then Google it. Put in your zip code and the word "church" and look for a good Baptist or non-denominational church in your area.

Hi theree.

Uhm no, those are not bad things to do :p I don't like hearing swear wordss much myself, and feel bad if i do swear.

Crying is not bad :p You're just building your relationship w/ God, don't be too hard on yourself. And don't panic. God will guide you on His time. Take a deep breathe and relax. Trust Him. Of course you can look for a church that suits you but if you don't, don't panic. Keep looking, and He'll help you:p

no need to be worried. God's got this (:

sounds like you have problems that being a born again christian isn't going to help. Try doing good things for the sake of them, not for some reward at the hereafter. Also your pity towards your self is laughable. Cowardly christians.

I think you might be beating yourself up too much. Try to have compassion for yourself. God is understanding, you don't have to worry so much. Be yourself, be a nice person, and have some fun. That's what's important.
