Question:
If god designed humans by his own image, why are our bodies so flawed?

If an all powerful and intelligent creator would design a body you'd expect it to be perfect. But we are so horribly designed that its obvious that we are a product of evolution and not ''designed'', or else god is some sort of idiot. Here are some examples:
You have a blind spot in each of your eyes.
Your wisdom teeth causes a whole bunch of problems.
Testicles outside of the body, one of the most important organs compl
etely vulnerable
Completely useless wiggly ears.
Male nipples...
Gill structures and tail in the womb
Food and air through the same pipe, high risk of choking. Genius.
We cant synethize vitamin C
Tiny pelvis causes a lot of problems during birth
the urethra passes through the prostate instead of around it.. causes a lot of problems
Overly complicated feet bone structure which causes many injuries.. our ape ancestors needed these for climbing, not us..

So how come our ''intelligent designed'' bodies, really isnt that intelligently designed.. you'd expect better from the creator of the universe

I read the list and am tying to find what you think in that list is a "flaw".

For the eye to work, it h to have a verve attached. God designed to eye and our brain so that it function perfectly in spite of the spot where the nerve is attached. If it left us with a hole in our vision, then you might have an argument. Instead the design works just like it needs to work.

Until the invent of dentistry in the last few decades, the growth of additional teeth to replace those lost through injury and decay was a smart design. It was not a problem,

Since sperms can not survive the temperature within the body, placing them outside the body is a smart design. If they were not, the human race would have ended after one generation.

So the muscles that move the face also can move the ears (which are located on top of those muscles.) How is that a "bad design"? There is nothing harmful about wiggling your ears.

Male nipples...able to produce milk if needed to preserve human life. Would you prefer God let the babies starve?

Gills and tails in womb. Nonsense that was disproven centuries ago. Total fabrication.

Need I continue? You can see that none of your "flaws" are actual an issue.

Because our bodies change over time to adapt . It's called Evolution, and cell division isn't perfect which is what some people look different and had abnormalities. Biology can answer a lot of the examples you referred to: i.e. the reason testicles are outside your body is because they need to be a few degrees colder than your body temp, so males can reproduce properly. If you agree we have ape ancestors, which you stated, then how can you believe God created us in is own image. You'd be saying he's an ape....

The fact that you view our bodies as flawed is no reflection on whether that stance has any basis in actual objective truth. All you're really saying is that you don't think God did a good job, which is fine as an opinion, but nothing more.

IF god designed Humans by his own image . why are our Bodies so flawed ?

What I find Interesting is Religion Claim they Have "Special Knowledge " contained in their book They Have the Answers to all the important questions that face man .

To start the requirement to even have to start your Question with the word "IF" tells me they have failed to demonstrate their asserted Knowledge .

..The world today still faces the same issues projected in their book in the time of Moses as well as Jesus . War oppression of groups Hunger Illness and diseases

.Religions being The professors of solutions have had over 3500 years to take their Special knowledge to cure these issues .

.Jesus could stand in the field today and the same kind of people with the same problems would flock to hear the words . what has changed for man only Time

. What has advanced medical and science the disease Jesus is said to cure Leprosy possibly epilepsy are treated by medical science a large body of knowledge and technology that has improved our lives none from the bible .

..I shatter to think that as i peer over my fence at my Neighbor that what stands before me resembles the image of god . god must not have owned a Mirror .

That claim must of been a metaphor because it also claims god is invisible . WHAT DOES INVISIBLE look LIKE . another contradiction the bible states God WALKED through the garden and had a BACK SIDE a book that claims so much Knowledge yet on the single issue of the gods appearance it is not consistent and i did not even touch on the TRINITY concept in various parts god is a dove or the spirit is a dove he is god in human form a burning bush a cloud of smoke ..

...the Thought of the day if god can create a man in A SINGLE Day why did it take 40 days to engrave two tablets ?

What was god doing during the conversation with the talking snake and Eve?

. How come Adam and Eve get the big punishment .

but gods punishment for the snake is to spend its days on its Belly DUH it already was slivering on its belly to start with

.If god created EVERYTHING in 6 days

When in that sequence did god create Angels and thus Satan to Even have EVIL to have a Tree to have knowledge of Good and evil if god had not created Evil Yet ?

You forgot to mention another flaw of humans. That is where they read something like this in Scripture and draw conclusions that are flawed also. Who said we are made in God's "physical" image? God is a Spirit, and not physical. We are not created in His physical image; we are made in His spiritual image in regards to mind and thought. This is what BECAME corrupted and flawed when the first humans decided to reject their Creator, and you inherited that flawed mental make-up.

The bible attempts to address this in genesis - it rectifies the existence of a 'perfect god' who would only be capable of 'perfect creation' with a demonstrably 'imperfect' human race by putting the blame on his creation.

Basically - it couldn't have been his fault, so it had to be ours.

In reality - the human body is the result of millions of years of evolution, which has been a more or less random process resulting in extra bits (like the gallbladder) and other 'flaws'.

Being made in God's image means that we were created with free will and that we can reflect his qualities like love justice wisdom and power. The reason we get sick grow old and die is that we inherited sin and death from Adam. We can see this at Romans 5:12. He couldn't pass on perfection to his offspring once he sinned. The usual excuses often involve sin or death.

They don't address the problem of how a perfect God could have created flawed humans. Perfect beings can't create flawed things.

While Adam, even in his perfection, had a corruptible body, it was only because of his rebellion against God that he came into “enslavement to corruption” and passed this condition on to all of his offspring, the human race. (Ro 8:20-22) This enslavement to corruption results from sin or transgression (Ro 5:12) and produces bodily imperfection that leads to degradation, disease, aging, and death. For this reason, the one ‘sowing with a view to the flesh reaps corruption from his flesh’ and does not gain the everlasting life promised those who sow with a view to the spirit.—Ga 6:8; compare 2Pe 2:12, 18, 19.

The thing is, most “poor design” arguments come from ignorance. We are constantly finding previously unknown functions (important functions) for the supposed vestigial structures and so-called “junk DNA.”

For instance, in October, 2007, Science Daily had the article: Appendix Isn’t Useless At All. Some scientists discovered that it is a safe house for good bacteria and can reboot the digestive system if needed. In December, 2011, one study found that individuals without an appendix were four times more likely to have a recurrence of Clostridium difficile, a common pathogen in hospitals (The Appendix May Protect Against Clostridium difficile Recurrence).

In July, 2009, National Geographic had an article called: Vestigial Organs Not So Useless After All. The study revealed an important role played by the spleen, formerly considered vestigial. Besides the fact that it helps filters out red blood cells that are damaged or old, it is a storehouse for a type of white blood cells for immune defense and tissue repair. Those without spleens are more likely to die from heart disease and pneumonia. In the article, Dr. Jeffrey Laitman admitted, “History is littered with body parts that were called ‘useless’ simply because medical science had yet to understand them . . . People say, ‘You can remove it and still live.’ But you have to be careful with that logic. You could remove your left leg and still live.” And the article also talked about the appendix discovery.

Evolutionists told us the appendix, the spleen, the pineal gland, the pituitary gland, the thymus gland, and over a hundred other things were vestigial, only to have science find out they had a function after all. How many people were exposed to increased infections during the tonsillectomy craze of the 1960s? They have now linked removal of tonsils to the risk of heart attack.

About 98% of our DNA does not code for proteins and so, for many years, evolutionists regarded that 98% as junk, but in September 2012 the ENCODE Project published evidence that most of it is functional. Don’t worry, there are more discoveries to come.

In my life I have found that if I just have a wait-and-see attitude, the truth eventually comes out. I have seen an amazing amount of Dysteleology claims get shot down with new discoveries.

But the thing is, if the Creator is the God of the Bible, then we are told that this is a cursed earth (all of creation is suffering as a result of man’s sin in Genesis 3); everything is in a state of progressive degeneration—bad things are supposed to happen and things are expected to get worse (e.g. mutational load). Unlike God, the creation is wearing out like a garment (as it says in Psalm 102:25-26).

It’s like the example of a gardener digging up an ancient book—the book is falling apart, its pages are mostly stuck together, and the type has faded. Does the current condition of the book mean that it never carried a message and that it wasn’t designed? The book is in a degenerative condition, but there is no denying that it was designed for a purpose and optimal for doing it’s job at one point in time.

Suppose you turn on a computer and it’s not working property. What do you say, “This computer must not have been designed because it’s not working properly”?

An unbeliever looks at the earth and finds examples of what he or she believes are evidences of poor design. Yet, it is very likely they might be witnessing degeneration from the Fall, or again that they are simply ignorant of the purpose.

As it has been said, “We will not assume, therefore, that because an unbeliever’s reasoning ability is flawed, this proves his brain was not designed” (just a bit of a low blow).

And besides, this argument can just as easily be turned around. Why has evolution been so slow at getting rid of useless structures in our case? Why isn’t evolution more effective at getting rid of vestigial structures if modern humans have been around for over 200,000 years?

1. What makes you think that our bodies as you see them now are the final product? Ever hear of evolution and adaptation?

2. God DID make us in HIS image.... as spiritual beings with the capability to live forever.

3. If the goal of our physical lives is for us to learn something such as how to love then imperfection could easily be part of a perfect plan.

In the beginning God created everything perfectly.

Genesis 1:31 (AMP)

And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good (suitable, pleasant) and He approved it completely."

After Adam sin everything became corrupted. So there's what God originally created and then there's what sin has altered. But it seems you believe what God created as perfect is imperfect to you- so I guess perfection for you means having no outer ears, larger hips for women, nippleless and ballless men...Anways, here are a few articles for some of your points:

The fact of the matter NO, we were perfect until we sinned against God, then sin came into the world and God cured the world and God cursed us for sinning against him as it is written Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Also everything God created for us was meant for a purpose but some people think that they are smarter and wiser then are creator, like you. it is very unfortunate that you think and feel that way towards God, I hope God heals your pain by saving you and making you a child of God, then and only then will you truly see the light of God. may God richly bless you and save you.

Get a kjversion Bible and believe. Jesus Christ is the truth. Read Genesis. Read Romans chapter 5 as well. Evolution is not real! Do you understand that? They come out with news articles, "studies show people stronger and smarter in the past!" completely destroys lies of evolution. Made good and since Genesis, here is wisdom: "For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now."- the Word of God. We know this is true, look at genetics to thermodynamics to astronomy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbh7S6WWdMc and so on. But here is wisdom: “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” - the Word of God.

How could such perfect humans become selfish, leading to acts of sin? Although created perfect, their physical bodies would not continue to function perfectly if not provided with proper food. So, too, if they let the mind feed on wrong thoughts, this would cause moral deterioration, unholiness. James 1:14, 15 explains: “Each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed by his own desire. Then the desire, when it has become fertile, gives birth to sin.” In the case of Eve, the wrong desires began to develop when she listened with interest to Satan, who used a serpent as his mouthpiece. Adam heeded the urging of his wife to join her in eating the forbidden fruit. Instead of rejecting the wrong thoughts, both nourished selfish desires. Acts of sin resulted.—Gen

‘Adam’s sin was God’s will, God’s plan.’

‘Many people have said that. But if I were to do something that you wanted me to do, would you condemn me for it? . . . Then, if Adam’s sin was God’s will, why was Adam driven out of Eden as a sinner? (Gen. 3:17-19, 23, 24)’

That’s an interesting point, and the answer really involves the kind of person God is. Would it be just or loving to condemn a person for doing something that you yourself planned for him to do?’ (1) ‘Jehovah is a God of love. (1 John 4:8) All his ways are just. (Ps. 37:28; Deut. 32:4) It was not God’s will for Adam to sin; he warned Adam against it. (Gen. 2:17)’ (2) ‘God did allow Adam, as he does us, the freedom to choose what he would do. Perfection did not rule out the exercise of free will to disobey. Adam chose to rebel against God, despite the warning that death would result.’ (See also page 142.)

Being made in Gods image means that we are spirits created to do Gods will and righteousness

It has nothing to do with our bodies.

“God proceeded to create the man in his image, in God’s image he created him; male and female he created them.”—Genesis 1:27.

we are made in God's image in the sense that we have the potential to reflect God’s personality traits, such as his love, justice, and wisdom. In fact, the Bible says: “Become imitators of God, as beloved children, and go on walking in love.”—Ephesians 5:1, 2.

God is a Spirit.”—John 4:24.

The Bible describes God as a spirit being. (2 Corinthians 3:17) As such, he is far superior to us and beyond our physical senses. He is “the King of eternity, incorruptible, invisible,” says 1 Timothy 1:17. The Bible also states: “At no time has anyone beheld God.”—1 John 4:12.

On the last day of creation, God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness” (Genesis 1:26). Thus, He finished His work with a “personal touch.” God formed man from the dust and gave him life by sharing His own breath (Genesis 2:7). Accordingly, man is unique among all God’s creations, having both a material body and an immaterial soul/spirit.

Having the “image” or “likeness” of God means, in the simplest terms, that we were made to resemble God. Adam did not resemble God in the sense of God’s having flesh and blood. Scripture says that “God is spirit” (John 4:24) and therefore exists without a body. However, Adam’s body did mirror the life of God insofar as it was created in perfect health and was not subject to death.

The image of God refers to the immaterial part of man. It sets man apart from the animal world, fits him for the dominion God intended him to have over the earth (Genesis 1:28), and enables him to commune with his Maker. It is a likeness mentally, morally, and socially.

Mentally, man was created as a rational, volitional agent. In other words, man can reason and man can choose. This is a reflection of God’s intellect and freedom. Anytime someone invents a machine, writes a book, paints a landscape, enjoys a symphony, calculates a sum, or names a pet, he or she is proclaiming the fact that we are made in God’s image.

Morally, man was created in righteousness and perfect innocence, a reflection of God’s holiness. God saw all He had made (mankind included) and called it “very good” (Genesis 1:31). Our conscience or “moral compass” is a vestige of that original state. Whenever someone writes a law, recoils from evil, praises good behavior, or feels guilty, he is confirming the fact that we are made in God’s own image.

Socially, man was created for fellowship. This reflects God's triune nature and His love. In Eden, man’s primary relationship was with God (Genesis 3:8 implies fellowship with God), and God made the first woman because “it is not good for the man to be alone” (Genesis 2:18). Every time someone marries, makes a friend, hugs a child, or attends church, he is demonstrating the fact that we are made in the likeness of God.

Part of being made in God’s image is that Adam had the capacity to make free choices. Although he was given a righteous nature, Adam made an evil choice to rebel against his Creator. In so doing, Adam marred the image of God within himself, and he passed that damaged likeness on to all his descendants (Romans 5:12). Today, we still bear the image of God (James 3:9), but we also bear the scars of sin. Mentally, morally, socially, and physically, we show the effects of sin.

The good news is that when God redeems an individual, He begins to restore the original image of God, creating a “new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness” (Ephesians 4:24). That redemption is only available by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior from the sin that separates us from God (Ephesians 2:8-9). Through Christ, we are made new creations in the likeness of God (2 Corinthians 5:17).

If god designed humans by his own image, why are our bodies so flawed? Bacteriologist Alexandre Yersin (who discovered Bubonic plague) is depicted on the Shroud of Turin. There is another shroud on which blasphemer Yosef (who was crucified on a pole in 1066 AD) is depicted. WW3 happens; 7% of people will be left; after people are tired of war, they will elect the antichrist as one world leader; don't vote. ISIS stands for Israeli Secret Intelligence Service. Next false flag: Statue of Liberty. Move away from coasts as nukes will go off in the ocean (at where tectonic plates meet; result: megatsunamis 1km high). Earth is flat; stands on 3 pillars (the Most Holy Trinity); pillars stand on water at zero Kelvin. Zodiac is planetary prison of demons; don't believe in horoscopes or you'll exhibit the traits of the trapped demons. Most thoughts and dreams are from demons; demons never do good. Sleep fully clothed; pray the Jesus prayer. Pray to your guardian angel to have normal sleep. Vyacheslav Krasheninnikov was the last prophet before Enoch and Elijah return to preach against the antichrist. According to Ruski Orthodox Christian Vyacheslav Krasheninnikov: Humans were created about 7525 years ago.

Birds participate in time creation. It's a sin to kill birds. Dinosaurs live under our level. They will get out through sinkholes and lakes. To kill them, go for their nerves. Save the birds; but kill the dinosaurs. First dinosaur will come out of Volga River in Russia. Demons grow human skin (from a sample taken during abduction) and put it on so as to look like us. Demons will invite people to be healed inside their UFOs; those who go will be like zombies after. Gov't provides demons with diamonds and allows demons to abduct people. If you're being abducted, slowly pray the Jesus prayer.

Don't panic. Demons use diamonds and souls to power their UFO craft. The bigger the diamond, the more it lasts. Demons have 4 UFO bases: 1)Moon 2)Inside fake mountain Kailash in Tibet 3)In lake Baikal in Russia 4)In Atlantis which is underneath the Mariana Trench in Pacific Ocean. There are no aliens. Nobody lives on other planets. Airplanes that go down are hit by demons because they need the airspace to fight Jesus. Antichrist is pale with red eyes. He's possessed by Satan since he's 12 years old. He flies. He wears gloves to hide long nails. He's surrounded by demons who appear as angels of light.

Don't go into a UFO to be healed by demons. 666 is given by isotope rays on wrist or forehead when people stretch hands to receive small plastic grey card with no name on it (World Passport). Police will microchip and isotope ray people on highways. Food stores will isotope ray people too. Antichrist will also release prisoners to mark people. Reject 666 at all cost. If you're about to be marked, pray the Jesus prayer. Hide with Orthodox Christians to escape 666; leave all electronics behind so that antichrist's minions can't track you. Give to charity in the name of Archangel Michael; he rescues people from hell twice a year (or brings them up a level, that is, to a level with less punishment; eventually, people are freed). Feed the pigeons; when pigeons bow down, people are saved from hell. Forgive me.
