even the global news is mostly bad news, and the
weather channel is getting ominously cloudy, and the
space channel has a mingled mega shark + octopus,
and the grace channel has some awful lawful sh*t on it

is there some under-lying factor for all this Horeb-bull?

Blessings to all. The Bible tells us, that we are living in the evil times, this is the reason. Man has forgotten about God, and how to show love and mercy to one another, God said these things were going to happened.

It's because television producers are unoriginal and loss-averse, meaning that as soon as someone makes a successful movie/series/ad on a certain theme people copy the concept and milk it to death and then move on. Their thinking is that why try something different when you could make something similar to what has worked in the near past and make certain money?

We are a violent species. it would seem logical that we would seek violence in our entertainment. Hollywood wouldn't produce it if it didn't sell.
