why this stereotype over certain religions?

yesterday i had a disagreement with my friends over this so i thought i would come here and let it all out cz this really pisses me off when ppl are so evil and inconsiderate.
i am a christian , living in a middle easten country (where almost half of citizens are muslims and half christian). yesterday, me and some christian friends were discussing marriage between these 2 religions.and we know a girl who got married to a muslim. they started to say bad words and swear at her abt how she betrayed her christianity (although it was a civil marriage and she still is christian and still have her beliefs in christianity)
when i started to argue with them abt it, how they have no right to control what others do and how its none of their business. they said its our opinion, u have urs...u should respect our opinion.

sorry but this is no opinion.

since they have been born, they have been fead by their racist parents abt muslims (my dad is racist towards this too, but it didn't affect me). this is not their personal opinion. they know nth abt islam. they just know that they should hate muslims. why? euhhh just because! or because some stupid wrong interpretation of the quran

and with all of this, i which if all christians follow christianity to the fullest. my friends, mayb they read the bible once in their life, at school, in religion class. they go to church on occasions and holidays to dress up. but guess what? they are christianss.. yeaaahh!

First be a true christ follower, then, read abt islam, and they don't agree with it, fine! that's called an opinion. but hate ALL the ppl in it and discriminate them? that's a stereotype!
there's no excuse for racism!
everywhere there's gd and bad ppl.. doesnt matter which religion!
i would also like to point out that i also really dislike the fact that when a child is born into a family (of any religion, nth specific), the child immediatly takes after the parents religion. i find no excuse to it. their beliefs are decided for them before they can even talk!
they say in religion there's free will... i dont think so. it is imposed on ppl. a soul doesnt decide in which family of which religion it will be born with.

if a person reads and gets informed and then disagrees with the beliefs of a certain religion, its his opinion...that's called opinion.

here's an example: just like i didnt decide that my name will be carla, and my parents chose it for me. u can't hate me because u knew a carla that u didnt like.
so is religion.
religion is sth gd, it is a way of life. not a reason to discriminate a life. and i believe every religion has a gd msg behind.
i try to deliver this message everywhere... its not an opinion, its a fact. but unfortunatly, i get the same msg: this is my opinion and u can't change it!

the way of Islam is very different from the way of Christ. Allah is quite different from the God of the bible.I am not sure how practical it will be for a Christian woman to live in a Muslim home. I will pray for you to know the answers from the best source, God's holy Spirit. Bless you

Well, everyone has their own opinion, their own values, etc. But alot is from the way a child is raised in his family, area, and what he's taught. Still, everyone has been given the freedom of choice and if you are doubtful and question anything, it is best to study and learn about all different religions; find out where they originated, why?, what do they teach? I've learned so much just by opening my eyes a little more. I've also learned to NEVER argue religion (or politics!). All you can do is state an opinion, how you feel and let it end at that. God uses many people in different ways.

totally agree. i am a christian by choice,but not the denomination my parents wanted. they are catholics and i am a non-denominational christian. and it raised many disagreements in our household, but i made a choice 15 years ago to seek out a relationship with god and not follow the religious repetition of catholicism. when a catholic marries a protestant it is frowned upon and the catholics call it a slap in the face to the religion and the parents who raised that child. so yes i understand your point. my mom finally got over it and is just happy that i worship jesus in some form.

its both. one's opinion motivate one to say certain thing and its used to preach to others which would affect other's opinion. althoguh there are some hard headed people. racist are all over the place, they cant make u a racist and u cant make them none racist, unless ur a really good preacher, with ability to change opinions of other's.
