Ascended?

Keep in mind that this planet of ours is speeding through the space of the universe while it spins on its axis and orbits the Sun. So, there's no telling in what direction that anyone who "ascends" from the surface of this planet is going to go -- it's all pretty much dependant on physics, really. Factor in inertia, momentum, etc etc etc, and there's no telling where a missile that is shot from the earth's surface will end up.

Kind of like Jesus, when he "ascended" into Heaven.

The Bible says he went up, up, up, into the clouds. Well, of course we all know that you can't build a castle in clouds, because it's just vapor. So Jesus had to keep going, higher and higher and higher, up into the statosphere, where the air got so thin that he could no longer breathe and he lost consciousness from lack of oxygen, and plummeted back down to the surface of the earth. When he hit the earth's surface again, he either drowned in the ocean, or broke every bone in his body and became food for bugs and birds and wolves.

Not much of a story, is it?

Anyway, there's no place for anyone to ascend into. So, it's unlikely that anyone would return.

Scam.

The holy spirit, in essence is the embodiment of God's will, it is his divine command and providence, actually being put into action, it is the manifestation of his power at work. As to the helper coming, it didn't mean that God's spirit never worked on earth before hand, but that the spirit did not actually enter and dwell within the souls of men until they were cleansed by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Yes Jesus is God manifested in the flesh. Speaking in tongues as, say viewed in the sense of the babbling you speak of is not biblical, the true power of tongues lies in one speaking and all people understanding, this is a theological point where certain views can be skewed, but biblically, tongues is the essence of understanding, so it must be understood. 5Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. 6When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard them speaking in his own language. 7Utterly amazed, they asked: "Are not all these men who are speaking Galileans? Acts 2:5-7 The bible does provide that if tongues were spoken and not understandable, understanding( or one could interpret would always be present) because tongues must be beneficial to God's will.
