Ive been studying wicca for a little more than a year now and now that ive learned most of the basics im having a hard time at finding helpful books and sites that can teach me more advanced studies. Most of the sites or books i find just go over the basics over and over, and ive learned them but im not sure if they've given me the best starting point, so im looking for someone help me lay a solid foundation for my learning and to hopefully help guide me along my way. Im 16 years old, i live in the U.S., and i havent really found a deity that i feel a deep connection to. But i have a strong pull towards the moon and night.

http://www.witchvox.com/xvn.html may help you find a mentor in your area. The advanced principles of Wicca (assuming you can find someone capable of teaching them) are not easily conveyed via long-distance communication.

That said, at the age of 16 no reputable teacher will take you on (largely for legal reasons). You are simply too young. When you turn 18 you'll have a better chance of finding someone to teach you.

http://wicca.timerift.net has an excellent book review section which might help you find books you haven't read yet that will be useful to you.

Best of luck on your path.

(BTW, if you've learned from Silver Ravenwolf, you're already on the wrong track. And if you find a teacher you want to approach, please take the time to write proper sentences with proper punctuation and capitalization. Nothing turns me off as a teacher so fast as a potential student who can't seem to take the time to craft a well-written letter of introduction.)

My answer would be pretty much the same as prairiecrow - looks like she has it pretty well covered.

I would only add, in regards to your last couple of statements, that you don't rush. Your deities will call to you when they feel you are ready - study mythology and learn all you can about the gods, so that you will have an easier time recognizing them when particular gods do come to you.

And as far as wanting to go beyond the basics - well, start putting those basics into practice to gain experiences...and move forward studying further beyond Wicca 101.

Here is an article I often recommend to teens with suggestions of related subjects and activities that will help you in the long run become a more well-rounded Wiccan.

I had much the same problem as you, but I have found there are multiple ways to further my studies.

You can, for instance, keep learning by picking out one area that you are interested in, perhaps divination or herbalism or something. It's always nice to gain a deeper understanding of each individual section, instead of just the basics.

See, when it comes to witchcraft of all sorts, all you really need to know is the basics, because with the basics, it's up to you to find ways that you are comfortable with to put them together and make your own way.

You can also take a break from learning and just volunteer at shelters and food pantries or just picking up litter by the road, see it as you being the hands of the Lady and the Lord.

Myself? I decided to do both of those, and work towards being able to become, should I so choose, a High Priestess.

Wiccans LOL You would almost think that we owned stock in Amazon. Always buying and recommending books. Yes, there is some very good advice here and I don't feel the need to add on. Only writing to tell you to check the southwest suburbs. There is a High Priestess in the area who conducts open Esbat and Sabbat rituals. She is an amazingly beautiful and powerful lady. Anyone of any faith is welcome to participate although most of us are witches. Nuff Said. [Edit] Being 17, you won't get any formal instruction but there's no age limit for the rituals. My daughter is 11 and almost always comes with me. And. An awesome store with things you might want to check out is Witchy Wearables in Midlothian. Very reasonable prices.
