Why does nearly every religion have to portray the relayer of information as holy?

What threw me off of the Abrahamic religions was the high concentration on the relayers of teaching(Muhammad, Jesus, Moses, etc) instead of just focusing on the higher power of their religion(God, Allah, etc)

I think basically it is used to separate and distinguish between Spiritual Values vs Material Values.

to say that you were chosen by god to send forth his message is a pretty big title under your belt... why do you think so many ancient kings and nobles who claimed to have been descended from or chosen by god always had the most power?
