I'm a Christian and I don't say that. Nobody in the church I go to would say that. Lots of the people in my church are gay themselves.



There are some idiots who say "homosexuality is a choice", but that's just factually incorrect. It's like saying that "being tall or short is a choice" or "having ten fingers is a choice." It's not a choice; it's how you're born.

Because children are not naturally sexual. This is a behavior that comes later in life,usually in their teens. And much of that comes from their environment, to be sure, but what is natural is a male and a female -- they are the only ones who can reproduce and ensure the continuation of the race. But at some point in their lives, all people make a conscious decision, whether to live out their natural predilections - what they want, what they are attracted, to, or to obey the God of the Bible, who says homosexuality is an abomination. I know people in the church who have same sex attractions. But they have made a conscious decision not live that lifestyle. No different than a hetero married male consciously choosing to be faithful or to commit adultery. It's what you want verses what God wants. Which wins out will decide your fate in eternity.

Mostly ignorance. Homosexual orientation is conflated with homosexual acts. All acts, homosexual or heterosexual, are choices. Sexual orientation is not.

You must remember that, from a religious perspective, something like the same sex attractions are not something the "sinner" is responsible for. Those attractions are temptations given by Satan/sinful world/etc. It is acting on, giving in to, those temptations that is wrong.



Christianity has a strong division between soul (self) and flesh (body and brain). Temptation is flesh, the choice is soul.



It's just as they see sex outside marriage as a choice. The temptation for premarital sex isn't the problem. The act is. They don't say you go to hell for just wanting to have premarital sex.
