Rom 1:18 But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who push the truth away from themselves.[fn6]

Rom 1:19 For the truth about God is known to them instinctively.[fn7] God has put this knowledge in their hearts.

Rom 1:20 From the time the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky and all that God made. They can clearly see his invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing God.

Rom 1:21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn't worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. The result was that their minds became dark and confused.

Rom 1:22 Claiming to be wise, they became utter fools instead.

Have you ever heard the expression is it doesn't make sense then it might not be true, the belief in the bible is the belief in magic and stuff that even most Christians don't believe in, If you believe in the bible and in the small box that Christianity placed god into then by the same logic you can assume that Santa clause is real the Easter bunny and the tooth fairy. You can also conclude that every other religion in the world is just as likely as Christianity. Which of course then places you into a paradox I'm not ruling out the existence of a possible creator, I'm ruling out that Christianity is the only path to that possible creator and that Christianity is the one true way and that all the other are lies or untrue. Could I be wrong? Yes, but its just as likely that I'm right.

You are implying that faith is illogical, which is not true according to the Bible where we get the idea of faith from.

(Heb 11:1) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Key word in this verse is evidence. Faith is to be based on evidence. It's talking about the science of the unseen. Here are the steps of the scientific method in light of the creation theory.

1. Define the question

Where did we come from?

2. Gather information and resources (observe)

Look around and notice the complexities of life that scientists still have not been able to figure out.

3. Form hypothesis

We must have come from intelligent design.

4. Perform experiment and collect data

No scientist to this point has been able to create life.

No scientist has been able to make the connection of macro-evolution.

No experiment has shown that an accident can create complex life forms.

No experiment has shown that something as complex as a cell can form from soup through natural selection.

5. Analyze data

That should be self explanitory.

6. Interpret data and draw conclusions that serve as a starting point for new hypothesis

There is no proof that a creator exists, but there is much evidence for intelligent design.

7. Publish results

8. Retest (frequently done by other scientists)

1. I don't "preach". Why would I need to argue for logic? Are you suggesting that illogic is a viable option?

2.I want people to examine their beliefs critically and with full disclosure of the facts. The conclusion they come to is their own decision.

3. While theists are incorrect in their beliefs in gods, I in know why feel superior to them. I was a theist for most of my life. I kinda get where they are coming from. I just think they are deluding themselves.

I preach logic because that is how things work. Everything in our society was deduced and established through logical and reasoning practices. It works.

Sometimes I do feel smarter than believers. Mostly because your ability to reason and use logic dictates a lot about your personality/disposition/ and just all around general intelligence. I try to encourage the use of logic in all facets of life, not just when convenient for you.

Ah; I love it. To those who claim to use logic, where did the ylem come from? No one knows. So we say "I don't know, but it sure as hell came from somewhere." And suppose you come up with an answer, say, X--the ylem came from X. Where did X come from? This will continue, and cannot end.

Now, from NOTHING, emptiness, a void, a space void of matter, etc., how do you propose matter came into existence? I really am curious to see your answer here, and no BS. I should make it clear that I make a case not for my god, his god, your god, but for a creator.

properly, for sure human beings "carry forth" on the two factors of the theory wall, and neither facet looks to like it. To have ideals shoved at you, no count what they are, whether they are close to to your individual very own ideals, is obnoxious to lots of human beings. In united statesa., all human beings knows of the "message of Jesus Christ", and in the event that they desire to pay attention or learn extra, they understand a thank you to stipulate the closest church, minister, or undemanding lay individual, or Bible. i'm no longer an atheist, by utilising the way!

who would i be awakening from my spiritual dream...god no because he is not real you keep living your life and ill live mine and if your wrong dont you wish you could have just lived a little more if im wrong i go in front of god and when i reject him then i go to hell...well i would be stupid to reject him then huh

and christians are not the only believers in god how you made it sound in your questions no i dont think im smarter just not as blind to life and not only do i not believe in your god but any gods like greek mythologies christian god lds catholics all of them not just christians

A little of both.

I know I'm smarter than 95% of the rest of humanity, and have the test scores to prove it; but I don't think my particular gifts are unique or unattainable, and I would like to see everyone else lifted up and set on the path to honest inquiry and skepticism, rather than leaving them to wallow in ignorance and superstition.

I speak logic because I hope it is in some way contagious to the mind.

Logic is poorly lacking in far too many.

I don't "preach" anything. In fact, I don't even talk about religion or faith unless I'm confronted. And even then, I'm not confrontational, I just state the facts.

Well, atheists don't preach logic. What they preach is that there is no God - which cannot be proven logically. It is most definitely a matter of faith, and *that* is what atheists preach (their faith in the non-existence of God).

An atheist who preaches against faith, while him or herself maintaining faith in the unprovable non-existence of God, is plainly illogical.

yes, i do have faith that if you present some people with information in a calm and respectful manner, eventually they will accept it. however, my faith in humanity has often left me questioning it. some people, no matter how much you present to them, no matter how clear you make it that their beliefs are irrational and in many cases hurtful, will not care to look at things another way.

I don't preach anything. I am merely surprised at the number of people who believe a sky fairy knocked up a married virgin to create a kid who could be executed to save other people from a place the sky fairy made.
2008-10-15 12:21:55 UTC
No. They espouse their views on god in order to dispel superstition and deluded thinking. Their motive is to educate people to the fact that there is no, repeat - NO evidence supporting the notion of 'god'.

Beyond that, people will do what they please.

Personally I feel sorry for people who cannot see thru the cloud of delusion that religion imprisons them in.

I just respond to questions put before me in the only way that seems to make sense to me: by using my brain.

I don't hope to awaken anyone. What they do with their life is their business, unless they make a point of trying to make it my business... Then, it's ON.

Atheists don't really 'preach'. Preaching is what religious people do. It's an exercise is telling people you know something and therefore they should listen to you.

Atheists are the most illogical people around. They believe in no God yet believe in something that has no proof, neither have they searched all space and time to logically conclude that there is no God.
2008-10-15 12:19:03 UTC
This question is rude.

I think being Atheist is the most arrogant thing a person can be.
