Ladykat45, he is not judging you he is asking you how you can believe in a personal relationship with Christ when you don't have a valid Eucharist, which is Christ after the consecration of every single Holy Mass which takes place every single day, in every country of the world in the Catholic Church only, by a Catholic Priest.
The Communion which you speak of is simply a remembrance, not the real thing. There is no judgement here just a question.

I'm Catholic.
I know of many protestants who have personal relationships with the Lord, even with their strictly symbolic communion, or none at all.
The lack of the Eucharist doesn't imply the lack of any relationship with Him. That isn't what the Church teaches. It (communion) augments God's grace in our lives and ties us closer together in the Holy Spirit, but the Church doesn't say that protestants by definition have no personal relationship with Christ.
There is one big irony that strikes me, though: the same people who declaim about taking the Bible 100% literally, say that Jesus's establishment of the Eucharist at the last supper was not literal.

Please allow me to be honest here: I think that a person can have a personal relationship with Christ being Catholic or Protestant.
I’ve taken both Eucharist in the Catholic church and Communion in a Protestant church, and my experience taking the Eucharist couldn’t even compare with how close I felt to Jesus when I took Communion in a Protestant church. When I took the Eucharist I wasn’t thinking about Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and how it changed the world—out of His love for us. While taking Communion in a Protestant church, I was brought to tears and true repentance when I gained a real relationship with Christ. This never happened for me while taking the Eucharist.
This is not to say that a Catholic can’t experience a personal relationship with Christ while taking the Eucharist. My point is that you can’t judge a person’s heart and say they don’t have a true relationship with Christ. Only God can look into our hearts.

Your correct there is no more a special and personal relationship you can receive than when you receive his Body and Blood .As John says in his first epistle at the end we know the true God because he is in God and were in Jesus who is Eternal life 1st John5:20 you can not explain the Eucharist any better.

Spoken like a true catholic. And before you say another word, I was raised catholic, Not all churches have Holy communion every Sunday. And just because we don't do it every sunday doesn't mean we do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ... Maybe you need to do more research before you try to judge..

You are saying that the key to the relationship is the ritual. Holy cow, that is ridiculous. The command of Jesus is strong, but it is also a metaphor.

The truth is that Protestants do not even desire this personal relationship with our Lord . They reject the great feast that He has provided for all time. Jesus in the Eucharist is both priest and victim and the Eucharist is the sacrifice to the father that has replaced the Old Covenant sacrifice of the Passover. It is sad that they reject His teaching as mere metaphor when He was so clear as to His literal teaching. Even when He was left with only the twelve at the Synagogue in Capernaum He did not rush out to call them back and apologize saying that He was only using a metaphor but allowed them to leave and never follow Him again. When Jesus confronted the 12 He asked if they desired to leave also and St. Peter said, "where else can we go, you alone have the Words to eternal life. The Eucharist is the link to that eternal promise. We are to commune as believers and eat of the one bread which is truly, really, substantially the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord. Think about this, had the Israelites the night of Passover not eaten the Paschal Lamb but only a symbolic representation of the Lamb would their first born sons have been saved from death? The Eucharist as the New Covenant sacrifice which is perfect in every way which allows us to be saved. Jesus said that unless we eat His Body and drink His Blood we will not live eternally. If you really and truly desire a "personal" relationship with Him you must accept His free gift of Grace leading to our eternal home. God bless!
In Christ
