Matthew 10:34. "Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.

35 "For I have come to 'set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law';

36 "and 'a man's enemies will be those of his own household.'
What a shame to share this beautiful planet with those Christians.!

I am an atheist, but I think it means that we must break free of the conditioning imposed on us by our families in order to accept something new, even if it causes conflict. I don't think he is speaking about literal violence towards them. It is more of like the psychological violence that often comes with breaking free of old beliefs and customs.

Isn't it obvious? Everyday, every hour, in many masses and services, all the members of the Christian congregations are praying for peace but never came?

One more; Matthew 24:4-8, Mark 13:4-7 and Luke 21:7-11 will tell you too about what Jesus said to his disciples concerning those who preach about him.

What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. 28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny ? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. 32 "Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven. 34 "Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn " 'a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law-- 36 a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.' 37 "Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; 38 and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. "

Matthew 10:27-39 NIV

Jesus is making it clear that some people will believe and have Faith, some will not. Even in the same family.

But Jesus is more important than your family, and if they do not believe, leave them.

He also said:

"You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them. 10 And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. 11 Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit. 12 "Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. 13 All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved."

Matthew 13:9-13 NIV

Chris gave you a true answer, IF it is truth you are interested in.

Consider this:

Sura (8:55) - Surely the vilest of animals in Allah's sight are those who disbelieve

"And that He may punish the Hypocrites, men and women, and the Polytheists men and women, who imagine an evil opinion of Allah. On them is a round of Evil: the Wrath of Allah is on them: He has cursed them and got Hell ready for them: and evil is it for a destination." -Quran 48:06

"And for them are whips of iron" -Quran 22:21

Sounds peaceful??

i see you are very adamant about your questioning!! again, jesus isnt advocating warfare but he is warning his disciples the conflicts they will face as believers and to know that no earthly relationship can be placed before our relationship to god. luke 9 and 14 confirms this. he isnt teaching hatred or disrespect to parents because he warned against that in mathew 15. but we cant put any earthly father higher than our heavenly one. you should be more teachable friend. you would only help yourself because no one can change or war against god and his word. saul learned that! acts 9

37 "If you love your father or mother more than you love me, you are not worthy of being mine; or if you love your son or daughter more than me, you are not worthy of being mine. 38 If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine.

Christianity is hypocritical, and evil. That's enough proof. I'm proud of being a Spiritual Satanist.
