alright so i've been raised up on catholic and on holidays would go to church but other than that i wouldn't be caught dead there. two years ago i started going to a teen christian church every wednesday.
and quite frankly i am frustrated with their teachings. they make it seem like everything you do is a sin which makes me feel constantly conscious and like im failing at life. i feel like they're constantly putting others and myself down which is annoying.
so, i've decided that i should look into other religions to ease my mind:
i would like to still believe in one god
i believe in fate and that you can't change it
i don't believe in hell, but believe there's a after life of some sorts
my christian church is just a joke and im tired of having them say one thing and hear that they themselves are doing wrong. what kind of guidance is that ?... right now im looking into other christian base religins. ex. catholic, protestant,...
so my ? is what religion do you prays? do you like it ? what religion should i stir towards ?
thank you very much :)

I too was raised a Catholic. Throughout my life I have always questioned the Catholic System, but was never strong enough to take the step and discover the truth. This year I met someone who is a Seventh Day Adventist, thankfully he introduced me to his church and we started studying the Bible together. It has been an amazing experience for me. The truth and all the answers are in the bible.

I have been fortunate enough to meet someone who took the time to help me find where my faith belongs and where it can grow stronger. I truly hope you do as well. I prayed to God for an answer and He sent me someone to show me the way.

If that was the case, then you were not "raised" Catholic. Being Catholic is much more than going to Church a few times a year.

So you basically want to make up a religion that fits you, and not have to fit yourself to God? I don't understand wanting to do that. What it the purpose of making up your own and then following it?

God exists. His plan for us, for salvation and all of eternity already exist. We must follow him, and his commandments. We cannot make God in our image, to fit our desires and beliefs.

I'm a convert to Catholicism, and I would not be anywhere else but here. God called me to his Church, and I am so blessed by his mercy and love. The Catholic Church is the true Church instituted by Christ. Jesus said "if you love me keep my commandments." He didn't say we should do as we "feel" is right, or follow your conscience.

You should pray and ask God to lead you. Then listen and follow him.

I believe all religions are man-made and therefor faulty. There is one true God and you can find Him in the Bible. You can also find Him through prayer.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 says ...

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

What the people at this teen church say is probably true, but there's more to it. You are a sinner. We all are. It's our nature and we're born with it. We can't change any of it. And God knows this. That's why Jesus died for us – to pay the price for our sins. All of them.

When we trust in Jesus for our salvation, we're still sinners. The difference is we don't have to suffer for all eternity because of this. In the next life we get to be kings and priests and teach others about God's love.

But something else happens when we trust in Jesus. The Holy Spirit indwells us. And we find we don't sin as much. That's because we begin to think like God thinks. His Spirit lives in us.

I was raised Catholic and feel exactly the same. I have decided to not stress over finding a religion. I instead focus on being a good person, volunteering in my community, and being thankful and appreciative of all I have.

I still pray to God, it makes me fell safe.

analyze every choice but go for the best..

most important point: "test the religious guidelines and books not only the believers!" because there can be mistakes in the believers but if the religion is based on truth, it may not have errors

and in my knowledge the only error less religion is islam. try to understand it.

you should look into Jehovah's Witnesses. we do not believe in hellfire. we follow the bible more than most religions and we encourage instead of tearing down. we offer free bible studies that show u from the bible what God requires of us and what the bible really teach.

we have many ex catholics who are one of JWs. they found out from reasoning on the scriptures that some of the things they were taught was incorrect. investigate for yourself at the only authorized and official website of JWs @watchtower.org.

i wish u the best in your search

screw organized religion believe in what you want to believe you don't need someone telling you what to believe and what is right your own judgment should make that call that's what i do when new info comes around and i like it then i see if it fits into my beliefs so they constantly change and don't try to define it either spirituality isn't some thing you should try to quantify or calculate

Every Religion Claims That It Is The Truth - The Criteria Of The Truth

There are so many sects, cults, religions, philosophies, and movements in the world, all of which claim to be the right way or the only true path to Allah (God). How can one determine which one is correct or if, in fact, all are correct? The method by which the answer can be found is to clear away the superficial differences in the teachings of the various claimants to the ultimate truth, and identify the central object of worship to which they call, directly or indirectly. False religions all have in common one basic concept with regards to Allah. They either claim that all men are gods or that specific men were Allah or that nature is Allah or that Allah is a figment of man's imagination.

Thus, it may be stated that the basic message of false religion is that Allah may be worshipped in the form of His creation. False religion invites man to the worship of creation by calling the creation or some aspect of it God. For example, prophet Jesus invited his followers to worship Allah but those who claim to be his followers today call

people to worship Jesus, claiming that he was Allah!

Buddha was a reformer who introduced a number of humanistic principles to the religion of India. He did not claim to be God nor did he suggest to his followers that he be an object of worship. Yet, today most Buddhists who are to be found outside of India have taken him

to be God and prostrate to idols made in their perception of his likeness.

By using the principle of identifying the object of worship, false religion becomes very obvious and the contrived nature of their origin clear. As God said in the Our'aan:

" That which you worship besides Him are only names you and your forefathers have invented for which Allah has sent down no authority: The command belongs only to Allah:

He has commanded that you only worship Him; that is the right religion, but most men do not understand ".(Soorah Yoosuf 12:40)

It may be argued that all religions teach good things so why should it matter which one we follow. The reply is that all false religions teach the greatest evil, the worship of creation. Creation-worship is the greatest sin that man can commit because it contradicts the very purpose of his creation. Man was created to worship Allah alone as Allah has explicitly stated in the the Qur’an:

" I have only created Jinns and men, that they may worship me "

(Soorah Zaareeyaat 51:56)Consequently, the worship of creation, which is the essence of idolatry, is the only unforgivable sin. One who dies in this state of idolatry has sealed his fate in the next life. This is not an opinion, but a revealed fact stated by Allah in his final revelation to man.

The following criteria can best serve as a gauge to find out the

authenticity of the last revelation (the Qur’an) as words of God:

1. Rational Teachings: Since our Creator bestowed reason and

intellect upon us, it is our duty to use it to distinguish the TRUTH from falsehood. True, undistorted revelation from God must be rational and can be reasoned out by all unbiased minds.

2. Perfection: Since our Creator is all perfect, His revelation must be perfect and accurate, free from mistakes, omissions, interpolations and multiplicity of versions. It should be free from contradictions in its narration.

3. No Myths or Superstitions: True revelation is free from myths or

superstitions that degrade the dignity of our Creator or man himself.

4. Scientific: Since our Creator is the Creator of all knowledge, true revelation is scientific and can withstand the challenge of science at all times.

5. Factual Prophecy: Our Creator is the Knower of the past, present and future. Thus His prophecies in His revelation will be fulfilled as prophesied.

6. Inimitable By Man: True revelation is infallible and cannot be imitated by man. God's true revelation is a Living miracle, an open book challenging all mankind to see and prove for themselves its authenticity or veracity.
