Question:
Does regret ever really end, even in Heaven?

We get along pretty well by not bringing our regrets to mind very much, shoving those memories into the past.
But let something trigger the memory, a place, a photo, even a favorite flower, and the mind brings back regrets in living color to be looked at carefully again.

Then when we die, surely we review our lives again, and there is regret, maybe bigger this time, since nothing can be done to alter the record.

Is regret the one thing that humans cannot escape even in death?

Blessings to all. Some of us escape the pain of regret by making the right choice. -“Regret comes in all shapes and sizes. Some are small like when we do a bad thing for a good reason. Some are bigger like when you let down a friend. Some of us escape the pain of regret by making the right choice. Some of us have little time for regret because we're looking forward to the future. Sometimes we have to fight to come to terms with the past, and sometimes we bury our regret by promising to change your own ways.

But, our biggest regrets are not for the things we did -- but, for the things we didn't do. Things we didn't say that could've save someone that we care about. Especially when we can see the dark storm that's headed their way."

-“Truth is still absolute. Believe that. Even when that truth is hard and cold, and more painful than you've ever imagined. And even when truth is more cruel than any lie.”

-It's always gonna be there, isn't it? You and me.

-Does this darkness have a name? This cruelty this hatred. How did it find us, did it steal into our lives or did we seek it out and embrace it? What happened to us that we now send our children into the world like we send young men to war, hoping for their safe return but knowing some will be lost along the way. When did we lose our way? Consumed by the shadows swallowed whole by the darkness. Does this darkness have a name...is it your name?

-John Steinbeck once wrote, 'Change comes like a little wind that ruffles the curtains at dawn, and it comes like a stealthy perfume of wildflowers hidden in the grass.'

-Remember tonight, for it is the beginning of always.

A promise. Like a reward for persisting through life so long alone.

A belief in each other and the possibility of love.

A decision to ignore, simply rise above the pain of the past.

A covenant, which at once binds two souls and yet severs prior ties.

A celebration of the chance taken and the challenge that lies ahead.

For two will always be stronger than one, like a team braced against the tempest civil world.

And love will always be the guiding force in our lives. For tonight is mere formality.

Only an announcement to the world of feelings long held. Promises made long ago.

In the sacred spaces of our hearts.

-If you could go back and change just one thing about your life, would you? and if you did, would that change make your life better? Or would that change ultimately break your heart? or break the heart of another? would you choose an entirely different path? or would you change just one thing? just one moment. one moment that you always wanted back..

-Lucas quoting Ralph Waldo Emerson: 'There is no privacy that cannot be penetrated. No secret can be kept in the civilized world. Society is a masked ball where everyone hides his real character and reveals it by hiding.'

-Who knows where life will take you, the road is long and in the end the journey is the destination.

-The heart knows reason which reason does not know

-Do you ever wonder if we make moments in our lives, or if the moments in our lives make us

The memories are stored and associations build around them. Do not wait until die. If go inward and find the memory and quietly with judging watch it replay, then memory reveals it's value and place and what it means, then on longer a thing to regret or tied to other things, just correctly in it's place in history, so then live life (new life) again. Everything happens for a reason, when reason is understood and the truth it holds is revealed. When look and feel, observe without judgement and let feelings drift away. Then free to live life and bring forward good things in life. (They can get blocked and hold in sadness and distress, either known or suppressed and spring up again, better when ready to let them drop into their proper place and move on, to escape a kind of death in life. Enjoy favourite photograph and flower and secrets that they hold, and their place in a wonderful life, then smile when look at photograph, or smell favourite flower and have good feelings in living colour and smile to share, then help take away more regrets than ever had for self. Recorded details can't be altered, but record can, keeps calling back and being reflected until that's done.)

Not at all. There is a state of being in which God has promised to make all things new. In that state even the past is changed into something that brings delight to the soul for it see clearly that every experience was given as a blessing and its conclusion is always Bliss, Joy, Peace. Those who have suffered know the suffering of others. Those who have yet to suffer cannot know.

When God makes all things new the suffering of the past becomes like the suffering of a hard workout, the pain of a marathon run, the struggle to understand calculus or trig. Once we achieve the desired result that pain is seen as worthwhile and we can even laugh over the memory of it.

In Heaven we will laugh into all Eternity over the seriousness with which we lived our lives on Earth.

Never regretted them - for me I dont consider the sleeping nights, mess everywhere, dirty nappies, crying, tantrums, their constant need for attention ect as negative things. When you love someone so much you don't think twice about these things, you do them and you dont mind. IF you are scared that you ae going to miss out on things because you have children that suggests that at the moment you are probably not ready not have children. There will come a time in your life that you have travelled, maybe done some study, find the perfect man and live a little - you wont feel like you will miss out on anything by having children.

What came to mind for me was high school algebra (math was not my strong suit). When i understood my error after pondering a wrong answer and "saw the light," i rejoiced in being able to correct it. There was never regret, but only celebration at my new understanding.

Regret is merely clinging to a judgment or label or concept. Why would one choose to cling to that which causes suffering? There is no advancement, no expansion of one's being in remaining in the past, for then the Now is lost.

Though i seldom do, when i look back, i see steppingstones that led me to where i am now, each one allowing me to "choose once again" with renewed insight. The soul thrives on correction of error, but cannot flourish when mired in regret and suffering.

No, regret can be escaped!

Regret is removed when one learns from their mistake & corrects the error that caused the regret to be.

But so many of us live in guilt & regret rather than looking closely at it's cause & using the opportunity to find those hidden errors & obstacles within that block us from truly knowing Self.

Many Blessings!

Regret is born of emotion. I believe emotions will deteriorate along with the body of death I wear.

Love is not an emotion, peace is not contained in word, and freedom is free.

Regret is not that different than using a pen to write with, it is always there but a tool. At your next lesson you will be more apt to avoid those unnecessary regrets. Always a tool..
