How can people believe in Bible Stories like Noah's Ark? Or how Moses parted the sea? These are most absurd, things that even that Chris Angel magician guy or whatever couldn't even trick people with

Well, when the fountains of the great deep burst open, at the time of the flood, it left cracks in the Earth, which we call faultlines. The water covered the entire planet and created many layers, just like water will make layers in a jar of dirt if you fill it with water and shake it. The hot part of the earth which was below the ground water was exposed and created the oil and coal pretty quickly from the dead plants and animals which were pressed down by the water on top of them. The oil underground is under such intense pressure that the Earth's crust should only be able to hold it down there for about 10,000 years, which isn't a problem if the flood occurred about 4400 years ago like the Bible teaches but it's a major problem if the oil was created millions of years ago. The pre-flood Earth was much different. It had a lot more plants, more per acre, and it probably wasn't 70% under water either, which is a possible explanation as to why there is more coal than we have plants alive today to make the coal. I could go on, but I'll stop there. Moses parted the Red Sea in front of over 2 million eyewitnesses. I have yet to find a source from that time period that questions whether or not that really happened, so I'll take their word for it. I also know of at least one person who claims to have found the Egyptians who were drowned in the Red Sea when it came back together. If one believes that God can create the universe, then it is not that much of a stretch to believe in occasional miracles happening when God wants to show Himself, especially to His chosen people.

NIV version of the Bible, Genesis 6:14-16

"So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out. This is how you are to build it; The ark is to be 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high. Make a roof for it and finish the ark to within 18 inches of the top. Put a door in the side of the ark and make lower, middle, and upper decks."

Unfortunately our children are taught that Noah's Ark was just a cheesy overgrown boat with it being overflown with giraffes and dinosaurs sticking out over the railings. But when you really examine the Scriptures you can see that God gave some fairly detailed instructions for a seaworthy boat. We do not fully understand all the terms used for the directions but we can get a rough idea.

Take a look at http://www.creationontheweb.com/content/view/1773/ . It explains in GREAT detail the seaworthiness of Noah's ark.

Not all things have physical, natural explanations - the parting of the sea is one of them. Being God, we cannot explain everything in terms of molecular bonds, reactions, etc. Supernatural events are free from the bonds of scientific law and as such often do not make sense.

But I feel confident that Noah's ark can be explained through natural means. While God could have easily created a box shaped boat that, while normally unable to float, could have floated because of supernatural means. However, the dimensions given in the Bible clearly give shape to that of a real seaworthy ship.

You can't believe that a man was able to build an Ark that was half the size of the USS Kitty Hawk Aircraft Carrier, but you can believe that people evolved from Apes?

That sounds just brilliant.

What's even MORE "absurd" are some of today's news stories!

Why pick at the Bible when today's reality is even more bizarre.

*Has a mythical beast turned up in Texas?

*Wis bargoer learns to keep his pants on

*Cat gets high on drugs left over from dinner party

*Shark dies after scaring NYC beach goers

*Maine sand castle builders seek record

Those are just today. Give me a break! LOL

It's almost as absurd as believing that not even a blade of grass can bend in the wind without Allah's permission.

Not all Christians believe the bible as literal. Some do, some don't.

Many believe in the teaching of Jesus and the basic principles of Christianity, do unto others (the golden rule), avoid sin and temptation, etc. but do not accept the bible as literal but as figurative. It is primarily fundamentalist who accept the bible as absolute, literal truth.

Many Christian scholars do not accept the bible a literal.

the same way people believe a self-existant singularity of energy exploded and cooled into everything in the universe.

It's no more silly than the idea that Gabriel came and actually talked to Muhammad or that people are reincarnated, or countless other things.

the brainwashing starts at birth.

you could tell a xian all his/her life that people are made of gingerbread, and if they think "the bible says so" they'll believe it.
