Well I am not a Master, I am quite new to the Witchcraft Religions(Wicca) but a good starting point would be to read several books I recommend Wicca a Guide for the solitary practitioner and perhaps after that maybe the Witches Bible. I recommend you study the craft for about a year before you try anything. Dabbling will not lead to anything good however if you know what you are doing it can be a Beautiful way to connect to God. As for Spells spells are in short a form of prayer, but remember what ever you do comes back times three. You must not use spells for personal gain or revenge for magic is a gift from the Lord and Lady and to use it for such things would be a insult and betrayal toward them.

Welcome to the unusual world of paganism. Very first thing to know, each guys and women will also be called witches. Second of all, you have got to find you aspect. Thirdly there is only one actual rule, will have to ye harm none do as ye will. Another karmic guideline though is that anything you put out there comes back occasions three, so keep it in mind. As for meditation you should go to the greats then construct from there, Buddhism has some beautiful technoques that could be a excellent situation to from. As for spellcasting that is all about focusing your will on the preferred outcome, its not not like praying. Retaining a pocket book with you private chants is mostly known as a spellbook, or ebook of Shadows. That is not some thing you wantto share. As for exact practic that can be highly individualized so do alittle study and notice what calls to you. Good good fortune!

First. most of the people in here that claim to be a witch are just pathetic wannabes.

Second. IF you are serious WHEN you are an adult, you buy books and study.

Smith is a LIAR. Wizard is a fictional term.

Whom ever gave me the thumbs down CANNOT accept the truth.

Trying to effect people or things by using spells is like trying to solve algebra equations by chewing bubble gum. Here is a good test. Cast a spell to get a good grade in school on an important test but hand in a blank sheet. If you get a good grade you will know the spell works. if you don;t you will know you were a fool to think it would.

You're either born a wizard or a witch, or you aren't. Knowledge of the subject matter is useless if you don't have the eos to actually utilize the command system. It's a bloodline. The eos energy isn't generated by people who don't have that particular blood running through them, and since you have to ask, that means you don't have it.

Call for Satan and he shall appear.

Seriously bro, don't try to do actual "magic".

* It would still be called witchcraft. Male witches are witches. The term isn't really gender specific. While there is in fact a group of magic pracitioners that call themselves wizards, the term wizard is more commonly reserved for fictional stories (the same goes for the term warlock...there is a very small group of real-life witchcraft practitioners that choose to call the male practitioners in their group warlocks. Usually, the term warlock is used in movies to mean male witch, while in reality, it's taken to mean "oath breaker" and seen as being an offensive term.)

* Wicca is a religion. Witchcraft is a practice. Learning witchcraft doesn't make you Wiccan. To become Wiccan you study and follow the religion of Wicca. Witchcraft isn't religion specific and requires no religion to learn and practice. You're clearly more interested in the magical practice. Wicca isn't about spells...it is about one's relationship with the god(s) and goddess(es) and how we live our lives. (belief in ghosts really has nothing to do with learning witchcraft, or any particular religion either.)

* Magic has no color, or intentions of its own. I'd drop the "white/good-black/evil" mentality going into the study of witchcraft. The world simply doesn't work that way.

* Witchcraft and magic are rooted in nature and psychology.

* All actions, even non-magical ones, carry consequences. There's not a whole different set of laws in magic as there are normally in nature and physics. This is why it is good to understand how you can best determine what the consequences of your actions will be before you take them, and be willing to accept them. ("consequence" doesn't necessarily mean "punishment". When acting with care and thought, you normally see favorable consequences to your actions, right?)

* Yes, when you study and learn witchcraft, part of the process is learning to construct your own spells. This is not to say that you can't use a (realistic) spell someone else created and have it work just as effectively. But when you craft your own spells, you are able to personalize them and suit them to your specific needs/goals. But you don't start with learning spells. You start with learning the other things you do list here....like magical theory, mental disciplines, etc. - the basics.

* I would recommend this book to start learning those basics: http://www.amazon.com/The-Inner-Temple-Witchcraft-Development/dp/0738702765 You can study spell components, correspondences and such alongside, but I wouldn't recommend actually trying to cast until you've worked your way through this book and become adept at the exercises. At some point in time, having a real-life experienced teacher will greatly help you as well...but you don't need to worry about that just yet. Take your time. Study and train at your own pace. Don't try to bite off more than you can chew at once.

I find it hilarious that Gel Childs assumes you are an adult, and Pagan assumes you are a minor. Take anything anyone tells you with a grain of salt. There is no one be-all, end-all authority on witchcraft. Use your own common sense and judgement as well while you are learning.
