The Rapture?

The Rapture is headed for New York City, and just in time for Christmas. In Left Behind: Eternal Forces, a Christian-themed videogame due out this October, the New York skyline smolders during the End of Days, the faithful have been called up to heaven, and the remaining New Yorkers are engaged in an epic clash between the Tribulation Forces and the Antichrist's army of Global Community Peacekeepers (aka UN Peacekeepers).

Evangelical videogame makers are praying that Eternal Forces will finally enable them to tap into the $25 billion global videogame market. They hope their "Christian" values-themed game will capture the same audience that has made bestsellers out of violent standards like Grand Theft Auto and Halo 2.

Funny...I would have thought a Christian video game would have had Jesus helping those who had been shot or killed...bringing them back to life again after the heathens had injured them.

Jesus wasn't concerned about saving himself. The sacrificial Lamb had to die and be raised from the dead to victor over Satan and sin.



Why would we want to be "brought back to life on earth?" Those who are left behind after the rapture are the ones who did not believe; the ones much like those who post awful, horrible, and insulting comments and questions. Those are the ones who will have to live through the tribulation. They had the Bible. They were told of what was coming, but they chose not to accept the gift of salvation. So, they will have to live through the consequences of those decisions. If they accept Christ during the Tribulation, then they will die and go to heaven.



Those who will be taken in the rapture are the faithful who have believed all along. Those who will have to live through the Tribulation will have a second chance to accept Christ. After the Tribulation, there are no more chances.



I can only imagine from the descriptions in the Bible just how horrible living through the Tribulation will be. That's why Christians witness to others, to give people the opportunity to join us in the air with Christ and not have to go through that devastating time.

Very good, I am also interested in "THE RAPTURE". I think you are on the right track in regards to this Christian video game, it is definitely money driven. A recommendation is to have a game that teaches kids about peace education and love not about the pain and grief, we are at the full mark with that in the world. Violent video games portray a state of mind that is totally not useful. Let's call it a day on war and give peace a chance.

The rapture, in that specific term, is not mentioned in the Bible. The Rapture, as we understand it, is a single word encapsulating the broad concept that at the end of times, those who believe in Jesus will be removed from the world and put into paradise while those left on earth will be here for the millenial reign of Satan.

The bad news : It installs spyware (nasty icky spy-type software on your computer), and in general promotes violence.



But yeah, it's violent. I mean, that sells. And sure a Christian video game would be blood and gore, just read the Bible.
