I am sick of sinning in this life and want to quit sin for good. I am offered two options by well meaning people:

1. Accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior
2. Suicide

Of these two options, which one is more guaranteed to save me from sinning anymore in this life?

What well-meaning person would give suicide as a option?? That's sick. Also, you can accept Jesus as your savior, and it still doesn't mean you will quit sinning. We'll never be perfect, we'll always make mistakes, slip up and do/say something wrong. Just ask for God's forgiveness sincerely, and his help for you to keep away from the sin. NEITHER option is a guarantee.
2006-07-20 10:37:26 UTC
Neither.

How you live your life is down to how you behave and what your values and morals are. Becoming Christian won't help. It will only underline the sins you are committing and find many many others.

Since suicide is a really big sin that won't help either will it.

If you really want to stop sinning.

First get a clear idea what you think these sins are.

A lot will not be sin but simple human nature.

Talk to someone who is sensible and can discuss this in a non religious non judgemental way.

Formulate YOUR OWN moral code and set about building it into your life as best you can.

Remember no one is without sin - not even the religious zealots!

If people committed suicide to avoid sinning there would be no one left here on Earth. You can't avoid sin but you can be forgiven by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Accepting the Lord will make you try a lot harder not to sin. To answer your other question, yes the Lord is powerful enough to stop us from sinning but he chose to give us free will so we can make our own choices and not be puppets. Do you want to be a puppet or live your our life? But, we were born into sin. Sin is human nature. To say I would to quit sinning is to say I want to quit thinking. Suicide is a sin so it doesn't make sense to say I want to quit sinning and committ a sin in order to stop that's a contradiction.

Supposedly SUICIDE IS A SIN...so if you choose it you sin! and die!

Accepting Christ will NOT guarantee you to be saved, because there is no real proof he was real or a savior.

So there is no guarantee you will stop sinning if you pick either one...

Who ever told you those things was stupid or on drugs!

IF you kill yourself you come back and start over again and who is to say you would not sin allover again!

IF you do believe in SIN that is or in god!

The best way to REALLY stop sinning is to stop believing IN sin.

Of course there are laws to follow and if you break them you go to jail or prison which is like HELL on EARTH.

IF you believe in HELL that is.

It is best to just stop believing in SIN that way you cannot sin because it does not exist!

ONE thing to believe in is KARMA or the THREE FOLD LAW...

either one or both.

Do not harm anyone or try to change them or take control over them and no harm will come to you...

IF you do harm someone IT will come back three fold.

NOW that does not mean if you are a good person and go walking on the freeway that you will be safe, you must do all you can to live a good life and that means taking care of yourself too!

NO i don't think so ..... that can not be your only two choices.... 1 I love Jesus but I don't accept him as my Lord and Savior,,,, and 2 sh.it there's to much to life to end it! So what i say is number 2 is out.... number 1 is a lie. Even though i believe in Jesus (not what the bible says.) I'm not a Christian so I take it that's what your leaning for........ so do what you like. Have fun.O and if you chose number 2. don't worry your not going to h.ell because h.ell is also a lie. Just do it swift because i have heard that it hurts.

Good luck. And If i were you i'd come up with new options.

Jesus overcame sin for us. In my flesh dwelleth no good thing the Bible says. I am being changed from "glory to glory' as I yield my sinful ways to God. It is a process. 30 years ago I fought a battle with cigarettes. 5 years ago I fought a battle with alcohol. I will continue to fight battles with my flesh. It would be wrong to surrender to sin. But my victories do not come all at once. I fight the battles and God gives me the victories one at a time. Suicide is never an answer it is the worst failure that can happen. The worse my sins are the more of a testimony I have when I overcome and am able to turn and help others who are still ensnared. That is victory. What the "devil meant for evil God uses for good."

Neither. Accepting Jesus does not stop you from sinning and commiting suicide is a sin that will put you in hell where you have no release. The only way to stop sinning is to take control of your life and exert a little willpower and common sense in the choices you make.

Well, being that suicide is a sin in itself, you're only option would be choice 1. Also, just accepting or praying Jesus into your heart is not actually Biblical. You have to carry the cross and follow him DAILY. Luke 9:22-26.

Well... considering suicide is a mortal sin and will send you straight to hell.... (because it is an act of complete pride thinking you have control over your own life and the ultimate selfish act.)

You have to do a lot more than just "accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior." Because we are human, we will sin our entire lives, but we must TRY to not sin. We can sin less frequently and less deeply. We must receive the sacrament of Penance, ideally at least once every two weeks. This will help strengthen us and wipe our soul clean from the tarnishing effects of sin. It will help us to gain Heaven. It is considered one of the necessary sacraments. (The other is baptism).

Suicide doesn't guarantee that Jesus will resurrect you. Since God and Jesus value life and it is something sacred to them, how would they feel if you threw your life away. Are you willing to chance that and put them to the test?

John 3:16, says that God loved the world so much, that he gave his only begotten son so that everyone exercising faith in him, might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.

If god loves the world (inhabitants) then he values your life. Have you had an opportunity to preach about his kingdom? This was one of his commands to all followers. All nations have to be witnessed to, then the end will come. If you have not, then why would Jesus help you if you haven't helped him?

Accept Jesus as your savior and pray for help.
2006-07-20 10:39:06 UTC
Babe....... sit down and think about this ok...

it is human nature to sin. That is why God sent Jesus to die on the cross because he knew all humans would sin. No human is perfect ok. You shouldn't feel guilty for sinning. Your mission as a Christian and I assume you are is to live day to day in the life of God and want to help others find Jesus in their hearts. Suicide is the worst thing you could do for yourself and the people that love and care about you.

Choose God, and don't blame yourself for sinning. Just try not to commit the same sins over and over.

Love ya lots......Cassie

Smoking, drinking, womanizing, are bad habits. The sin that the Messiah died for was the ignorance of mankind being seperated from his creator and trying to keep a natural literal law that was impossible to keep in the 1st place. On this side of the cross we can again regain that oneness that was lost from the fall of Adam.

Accepting Jesus as your savior is more then just saying it with your lips. You have to live it. Search the scriptures for in them you will find it is all written of him. He didn't die for your bad habits, he died for your soul! Suicide is not an option.
2006-07-20 10:35:05 UTC
Accepting Jesus. Suicide is a last and very final sin because it's like you're throwing all of God's promises back in his face. With accepting Jesus, you can at least be forgiven for your sins.

1. Accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior will give you forgivness of your sins. It wont free you from ever sinning again. but you can be cleansed from your sins daily just by repenting of those sins to Jesus. But you also have to work on imporving on your weaknesses that cause you to sin. It takes time and dedication to the Lord.

i really hope you stop and think about this. if you want to stop sinning then pick number one. accept jesus as your Lord and Saviour and you will live a blessed life. we cant say that you wont sin anymore. becus we are here on earth to find out what we are and what we want and of course we will sin. but when your a christian you will think befor doing something. is it bad? is it good? if you commite suicide that is sin and that will take you straight to Hell.

Accept Jesus. Doing this does not mean you have to be perfect, none of us are. But when you have a relationship with Jesus it is more than "hope" for an afterlife. It's an eternal relationship which will help you through the obstacles of everyday life.

It's useless to take option 2. If a computer works after a simple restart, why don't you try it. Reconsider your life and start building a new operating system for yourself. There's allways a third option. Good luck!

Suicide sounds pretty sinful. I'd go with the first. Honestly, I think there's a lot more options than that. See a priest, a minister, a rabbi, a counselor, a nun, whatever.

accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior and believe on him for every thing that you do. ask him to forgive you of your sins and when you sin by mistake ask forgiveness and work for him.he is a just and loving god you won't regret it.neither one will prevent you from sinning in this life but with god you can get for giveness and a chance to go to heaven. suicide you will not be forgiving for and you will most likely go to hell.

bud, if accepting Jesus stopped anybody from sinning, i would not take notice of the little cuties that inhabit this world, other than my wife.

as for suicide, that is unacceptable, because then you may be denying Jesus the pleasure or your company for all eternity.

that would make Him sad, i bet....me too, by the way.

You just made some choices which does not evolve you.You will not know what is good for you unless you know what is bad for you. This is the principle of duality.

You do not need either of the two options to understand and improve

He is powerful, but you must let Him into your life. This is a 50% 50% situation. Ask Him for help and go see a priest to get the instructions
