Question:
If pastors have to power to heal why don't they go to hospitals and cure the needy?

On TV you see some pastors healing the blind or curing members of the churches from illnesses and sickness. If this is true wouldn't the government fund these people to go out and cure people who need it? Shouldn't these pastors go to hospitals and cure those that need it instead of showing off in front off a camera for fame? And more importantly why do some Christians believe this? If all this works why on earth would we need medicine or other treatments if Pastors can just cure them by saying a couple of intense prayers?

It's all a scam. Those are all actors pretending to be healed.

Great question

I personally think that many of them are fake "healers" who either pay actors or make up testimonies of healing

I do believe in supernatural healing though as I was personally healed supernaturally at age 10 while in Intensive care

I think as Christians we should pray for the sick and visit them in hospitals. Just recently we heard a testimony of a lady who was healed when people from our young adults ministry went to pray for her in the hospital during their hospital visitations

I've been to a few such visits and I believe that God really does use His people to heal the sick, you just never see the genuine healing on tv, hardly anyway

I work at a busy state hospital and I get the opportunity to pray for sick people everyday, I agree that pastors should be there praying for the sick instead of showing off on tv because these people are mostly neglected by the church

The truth is, it's all Christians, not just pastors, who are given these gifts, but there are many frauds out there using God's name to make themselves wealthy. These people set up "miraculous healings" in order to convince others they have powerful ministries.

The flip side: even those who have a clear annointing in certain areas, such as healing, can't treat God as a tap that they can turn on and off when it's convenient. It's not a power we have and control, it's a gift given by grace. We aren't some kind of modern-day Gandalf, casting mighty spells all over the place!

As for why I believe it, I've been healed, and I've been involved in the healing of others. It doesn't bother me that you'll call me a liar, or deluded, because my experience is more convincing than your opinion, especially as you have a very closed mind. I've also witnessed false healers, and know the difference.

One of the greatest problems we face today is the use of resources. If we, as a species, stewarded our resources properly, we could wipe out world poverty. That's a fact. Our governments choose not to do this. We could plough money into finding ways to cure diseases, but we prefer instead to find more efficient ways of killing potential enemies.

And we have to understand that sometimes the answer to a prayer is, "No."

pastors dont have the power to heal. God does. What you witness on TV is more than likely a fraud. That probability has nothing to do with the fact that God can and will heal those with faith. Many without God and dying with sicknesses can be healed. Gods healing doesnt always include the eradication of disease. It is all about the infusion of grace. John 10:10 God Bless

Because they don't have the power to heal.

"On TV you see some pastors healing the blind or curing members of the churches from illnesses and sickness". Did you ever consider that a lot of things on TV aren't real? Ever thought rationally? Supernatural healing power is not possible, and I'm not saying that to sound like a smartarse, I'm saying it because it is a fact.

In the past I've read stories of hospitals seeing floors of people released early because Christians walked around and prayed for God to move and heal.

The point is God is selective on who He heals for reasons known to Him. The gift of healing is one of those gifts that God administers through people at His discretion. Just because God heals some through a person doesn't mean He has to heal all through that person all the time. Even Jesus Himself didn't heal everyone. He went into a place where a room full of people were trying to get to some healing water and He healed only one there. It didn't diminish God's healing power nor the evidence that He was the Messiah. (John 5:1-17)

We are blessed when we believe God for what He does and Who He is without demanding that He follow our script and only do things we fully agree with and understand.

I find it interesting you assume their motives for ministering on t.v. is for immoral purposes. How did you come to that conclusion they're trying to show off? Maybe they're wanting to demonstrate to people that God still does supernatural activities today. Maybe they're wanting to show a side of God many in the West don't believe in anymore.

Because half of these pastors doing is a scam.

Because they are fraudsters. Only the dim congregation can't see through them.
