Yes, Jesus was most likely married. He was called rabbi and nobody challenged that title. In order to be a rabbi, you had to be 30 and married. Jesus began his ministry at the age of 30. The marriage of Cana where Mary was in charge of the refreshments and asked for Jesus help with the wine, was probably one of Jesus' family but not his own. However, he was probably married before that time.

We don't know anything about his wife, who she was or when he was married. The record is completely silent on that topic.

Was he married more than once? Maybe. Again, we don't know but there are multiple candidates that could have filled that position.

Technically, Daniel is correct. However, I tend to feel that the reality favors marriage.

Yes, Mary Magdalene is one possible candidate. Mary and Martha, sister of Lazarus, are also candidates.

I don't find it unacceptable. At his first miracle, the changing of water into wine, it was the duty of the bride groom to provide the wine. Why did Mary go to Jesus to tell him that the wine was gone? In that time of Jewish history a man had to be married by the time he was 30. And only married men were called Rabbis. Plus only a wife would call her husband Rabboni, something which Mary Magdalene did. At the death of Lazarus, it was the custom at that the women would be house bound until they were called forth by either their father, if unmarried, or their husband. Jesus called Mary out, and he definitely wasn't her father. Mary was the first to see Jesus after His resurrection, she had a special relation with Him.

These are some of the things that those who believe that Jesus was married hold as proof that he was. I don't say that they are. He either was or wasn't married, I don't have any specific opinion. I know that the Bible doesn't say one way or the other, just as it has very little to say anything about His childhood. The Bible only gives His gospel and teachings.

And, it was during the 4th century that Mary Magdalene was made the prostitute spoken of in the 'cast the first stone' story. Before that she was a only disciple of Christ, not a prostitute.

No. . . Mormons don't officially believe that Jesus was married. In fact, there is no official Church doctrine on this issue. Individual members are free to believe as they wish concerning this matter. (Some believe that He was married; others believe He wasn't.) Dale Bills, a spokesman for the Church, said in a statement released Tuesday, 16 May 2006: “The belief that Christ was married has never been official church doctrine. It is neither sanctioned nor taught by the church. While it is true that a few church leaders in the mid-1800s expressed their opinions on the matter, it was not then, and is not now, church doctrine."

We don't know all things, but it is possible. . . there are 18 years in his young adult life that are unaccounted for. . . and it is written in the Bible that if all the things Jesus had done were recorded, there would not be enough books in the world to hold them. . .

I wouldnt be surprised either way. I dont *believe* one or the other, but I guess I lean more toward that he would have been married. Family and marriage is a big thing in the church and he seemed to live his life as an example for us.

I guess I wouldnt be surprised if somewhere around the trinity-nicene partay where they decided to "upgrade" him to the exact same being as his Father they might have also removed a wife, possibly thinking that made him look too mortal and human. It could have been done in wisdom, knowing how easily distracted we tend to be with the people who surround those who are important. Look how the Catholics (no offense) look to Mary. Leaving a wife in there, to some people, might become even more fascinating than Christ himself.

But these are just my own thoughts. The church really doesnt discuss that.

Maybe. The people that know him thought that he was a regular guy. No one ever mentioned the fact that he was 30 years old and was not married. This would have been rather strange back then.

The problem is that there is very little recorded about his personal life and the scriptures rarely mention someones wife. We do know that the apostle Peter was married because Jesus healed his wife's mother.

There is nothing that blatantly shows that Jesus was married.

But Mary Magdalene WAS the first person he visited after his ressurection. Seems like that woman had a special place in Jesus' heart.

No, he didn't have more than one wife. Mormon's don't believe in polygamy.

No. . . Mormons do not formally believe that Jesus replaced into married. in reality, there is not any professional Church doctrine in this example. human being individuals are loose to believe as they favor referring to to this be counted. (some believe that He replaced into married; others believe He wasn't.) Dale charges, a spokesman for the Church, suggested in a fact released Tuesday, 16 ought to 2006: “the perception that Christ replaced into married hasn't ever been professional church doctrine. it truly is neither sanctioned nor taught through the church. even as it truly is real that some church leaders interior the mid-1800s expressed their critiques on the be counted, it replaced into no longer then, and is no longer now, church doctrine." we do not comprehend all issues, even if it truly is conceivable. . . there are 18 years in his youthful human being life that are unaccounted for. . . and it truly is written interior the Bible that if each and each and every of the pieces Jesus had performed were recorded, there doesn't be sufficient books interior the international to carry them. . . it fairly is my opinion. . . we do not comprehend all issues. . .

One of the reason's a lot of people don't think he was married was because they actually believe that sex in a marital relationship is sin, can you believe that... LOL.

Sex OUTSIDE of marriage is sin people.

BTW I don't believe he was married, and he certainly didn't have children as they would have carried his divine DNA.

It really has no bearing on whether or not the gospel is true... so if we needed to know, we would.

I believe He came to fulfill ALL law, and celestial marriage covenant is a law... so... at some point He was or will be.
