I've talked to many "Christians" who say that Jesus will return as a "thief in the night." Do the following..?

verses indicate that some people will not be caught off guard or when Jesus does return? In other words, Jesus will NOT come as a "thief in the night" for some people.

"For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness." (1 Thessalonians 5:2-5).

YES!! Jesus is not coming as a thief in the night to the true believers. Another verse that is good that will go along with that is

Revelation 3:3 3Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

This is saying that if we do watch we will know the day and hour. We have to search the whole bible not just what sounds good to us. Jesus is returning May 21, 2011. For more information you can go to www.wecanknow.com. www.familyradio.com or www.ebiblefellowship. God bless you and thanks ;)

Jesus left to return to heaven as a spirit creature. He is not going to go back in human sort once more. Only a comparative microscopic few noticed Jesus start to ascend to heaven and the ones overlooked him rapidly. Yet close to the whole global in the course of historical past is aware of approximately him. Either that the primary Messiah for all of humanity used to be as a result of come or it used to be Jesus for my part because the Messiah. The equal is right for his moment presence. Only a relative few recognise that presence has already began, however every body can inform by way of the results it prompted and ultimately will rationale. Revelation 12:12 indicates what his first act used to be, "On this account be completely happy, YOU heavens and YOU who are living in them! Woe for the earth and for the ocean, due to the fact the Devil has come all the way down to YOU, having quality anger, realizing he has a brief interval of time.” At no time on the grounds that this planet used to be shaped has it noticeable such chaos and problems as now. Satan is having his gift in complete seeing what number of he can flip and maintain clear of the real God and his Son. Before that is over, each eye on the planet will recognise why the bulk will die and a minority will are living.

Jesus comes as a thief in the night only for people who are not expecting His return, they will be alarmed/frightened as when a real break in occurs. the problem with many Christians is that they are merely quoting a verse or two and do not have any understanding of it. Peace/Love God Bless

Some of us that study the bible know His approximate arrival, by the event of the two witnesses that are murdered in the streets of Jerusalem. They will lie in the street, then rise from the dead in the sight of many, 3 1/2 days later. At that time the true Messiah returns. We do not know the exact hour though.

It says the brethren are not in the dark and that that day won't overtake them like a thief in the night.

Sounds like a riddle to me. You have two potential thieves: Jesus and "that day".

He will only be a thief in the night to the people who do not know Him and have a relationship with Him. Non believers will be shocked and scared. Those who believe on Him will not have anything to worry about because they will not perish but have eternal life.

The thing is, we must "BE READY" at all times because that day and hour no one knows but the Father. However as Christians, we do recognize the signs of the times.

You're right. We will know about the time it will occur, but we still won't know the exact date and time.
