Question:
How do Christians explain this obvious scientific inaccuracy? (Warning: Faith will be destroyed)?

As an atheist with an IQ of over 150 (I don't want to tell you the exact number as it might embarrass you) I am well trained in your Holy Book, I attended Catholic school for 2 years, I can practically teach the Pontifical Universities of Rome.

How do you rationalize this?

Psalms 98:8 Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy;

Now, there are two options; Either, the bible is a typical fictitious work produced by the uneducated and superstitious,

or

Rivers can actually "Clap"

Don't try and say this is metaphor or poetry, I thought the entire bible was the infallible Word of God?

2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

Of course you will then try and rationailze this with modern science

I'm an atheist, and have a fairly high IQ. Did you get your measure from an internet IQ test? If you were smart and wise you might be aware that some scientific "proof" is not going to destroy "faith" as that is belief without any reputable evidence or proof.

There are plenty of examples of scientific nonsense that are better in the bible than rivers clapping. Maybe they meant "wave"?

You ought to know that you present only 2 options, which is a fallacy of choice, similar to "you're either fer us or agin us".

Well, as Atheists we KNOW it is just a metaphor.

However, christians will ride the fence between "metaphor and infallible word" and they'll claim the bible is one or the other (sometimes both) when it suits their needs without really explaining anything to you. At best, they'll just quote you some more scripture attempting to validate the original one.

Or, they'll just tell you that you're going to burn in hell.

I have never met a christian who could answer a "hard question" in a manner that seemed reasonable, let alone believable.

You are not as bright as you think you are, It is call for all of creation to Praise the Lord, and is figurative, you did know it is a poem?

A Psalm.

98 O sing to the Lord a new song,

For He has done wonderful things,

His right hand and His holy arm have [a]gained the victory for Him.

2 The Lord has made known His salvation;

He has revealed His [b]righteousness in the sight of the nations.

3 He has remembered His lovingkindness and His faithfulness to the house of Israel;

All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

4 Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth;

Break forth and sing for joy and sing praises.

5 Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre,

With the lyre and the [c]sound of melody.

6 With trumpets and the sound of the horn

Shout joyfully before the King, the Lord.

7 Let the sea roar and [d]all it contains,

The world and those who dwell in it.

8 Let the rivers clap their hands,

Let the mountains sing together for joy

9 Before the Lord, for He is coming to judge the earth;

He will judge the world with righteousness

And the peoples with [e]equity.

Well I can tell you this you're not telling the truth. Catholic schools can discriminate against whom they let into their schools as students yet alone be educators for them in this case a teacher when hired is bound to the regulations of the Catholic Church in matters of their moral public behavior which goes deeper into this every Catholic educator no matter what subject they teach also have to be considered a teacher in the Gospel of Christ. It if was discovered you were an Atheist they could kick you out of the school or terminate your employment if you taught something which was contradictory to what the Church would teach.

Rivers = Orthodox Christian teachers such as John Chrysostom; John 7:38.

Mountains = Prophets whose prophetic words were fulfilled on Christ; angels are happy when people repent.

As for your skepticism on Psalms 98:8 which reads "Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together" in my Bible - - -

Let all the children of men rejoice in the setting up the kingdom of Christ, for all may benefit by it. The different orders of rational creatures in the universe, seem to be described in figurative language in the reign of the great Messiah. The kingdom of Christ will be a blessing to the whole creation. We expect his second coming to begin his glorious reign. Then shall heaven and earth rejoice, and the joy of the redeemed shall be full. But sin and its dreadful effects will not be utterly done away, till the Lord come to judge the world in righteousness. Seeing then that we look for such things, let us give diligence that we may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

I would've thought somebody with an IQ over 150 would've understood metaphor and hyperbole.

Most Christians are happy with parts of the Bible being metaphorical and allegorical and your quotation causes them no problems. It is the fundamentalists, the Biblical literalists, who regard the Bible as being the inerrant word of God and they are the ones who have problems with metaphor. Fortunately for Christianity, the fundies are a small group in most countries but in the USA, because of the poor educational standards, fundamentalists are in abundance.

Christian explains nothing, they lie.

But Bible explains that if you will walk against holy books or instructions of God. Actually these people will take you with them to hell.

In Bible it is written Jewish were on wrong path at that time and still are doing the same i.e. finding God outwardly.

Romans 2:28-29

28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:

29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly (inside); and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

According to bible:

You are the temple of living God...

Mat. 6:22, 23: 'The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single (third eye), thy whole body shall be full of light; but if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!'

Corinthians 6:19

19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;

Bible is about inner path and prophets ( also known as true saints) sacrificed their whole life to teach them but tail of dog can never be straight.

They can modify truth but not all lines. Combine old Corinthians and matthew then compare it with new versions then you will be able to see how many lines are tried to be modified according to fake religions. These are only few lines. I simply challenge all to modify all above lines. You can ignore truth but these all lines can not be modified. These fake religions killed all prophets in history in every culture eg sufi saints, gurus of sikhs, Jesus ,Mansur Al-Hallaj etc . There is reason these spiritual teachers stopped exposing themselves.

Last but not see bibe say father of all lie is devil. Whole world is lying in the power of wicked one.

Do you know what is its meaning?

People speak lie to make others their followers these all are working in favour of devil in ego and due to attachment.

If you had an IQ above 80, you would recognize poetic allegory when you read it.
