LOL. Received a response saying:

"Why are you so ignorant of what an atheist is?!

More to the point if you do not know what an atheist is why are you so intolerant, hate filled, bigoted and persecuting towards them?!

ATHEIST - someone who does not believe in a God – any God – not just the Christian one. But that does not mean they do not hold strong moral or religious beliefs! They can follow any religion that does not have a god and there are a lot of those!"

Hate Filled, Bigoted, and Intolerant.

Lots of religions with no gods. We follow those!

I think this Atheist has been drinking too much of their own Kool-Aid.

Oh and FYI, the religion they probably meant when talking about no god, is Buddhism. WRONGGGG.

Unfortunately, people in the West have sometimes jumped to the conclusion that Buddhists do not believe in the existence of gods or other unseen beings at all. Wishing Buddhism to be true to modern scientific materialism and philosophical rationalism, they believe that Buddhism is eminently "empirical" and denies the existence of anything that cannot be seen with the senses or proved in some kind of objectively verifiable manner.

But this is not the sense in which Buddhists are non-theistic. Buddhists everywhere believe in an "unseen world" inhabited by a full range of gods, demi-gods, spirits, ghosts and demons. In addition, all Buddhists-except, perhaps, modern Western ones-pray continually to buddhas, bodhisattvas and great teachers not only for inspiration, but for practical guidance and help.

You do believe in a god you fool.
You believe in the god of your own mind. If you cant deduct it, reason it, work it out, it isn't so.

So, anyone else ready to whip the lions and open the cages?
The persecution of the Atheists has begun!

Haven't seen atheists persecuted in the USA. Personally I haven't found anyone smart enough to prove that God doesn't exist. I'm agnostic - I just don't know, but the human body is so complex an accidental creation seems unlikely. I still haven't heard "him" talk back to me in a language that I'd define as his.

As for persecution, just like I say to gays, I can't tell your beliefs until you get in my face. Don't get into other face & they won't persecute you!

Hate Filled, Bigoted, and Intolerant.

And you say this after.

You do believe in a god you fool.

You believe in the god of your own mind. If you cant deduct it, reason it, work it out, it isn't so.

So, anyone else ready to whip the lions and open the cages?

The persecution of the Atheists has begun!

You are the ones holding hate signs and preventing humanitarian rights. You hypocrite

Is your answer seriously that I shouldn't have to understand something to believe it?

I can't understand a great many things. However I put some trust in man to test those things, and then prove those things, and then write them down.

The difference between these things and various religions is that I can take the time and energy to research things myself and repeat whatever experiments were done. Or I can rely on the tens of thousands of others involved in physics, chemistry, evolution, etc.. to continue to test and attempt to prove or disprove theories.

I can't test religion and no one on the planet claims to be able to prove it either.

I'm not willing to rank the existence of God with fairies or unicorns, but I would say that I'm skeptical and would consider the matter unknowable unless He were to choose to somehow prove it to me.

I think the persecution of anyone, for any reason, but particularly for what they claim to think or believe, is a crime.

'If you cant deduct it, reason it, work it out, it isn't so.' This view is just as narrow as that of many believers. We, with are limited mental capacities, are simply not able to 'work out' and grasp everything. In my experience, I've atheists to be as nearly intolerant of the beliefs of other fundamentalist.

I'll remember in the future to not take you seriously.

I dont think persecution of anyone is a joke, actually. Whether their beliefs are the minority or majority or anything in between. It pisses me off when atheists ***** about "so called" persecution complexes of Christians. Just because there are a lot of them. What bull. Persecution is persecution. Being nasty and bigoted has no place in the treatment of other people. And its really not funny.

4 of his books? which ones? the only one i think of may well be waiting to be referred to as a humorous tale is "The God myth", and on an identical time as that replaced into no longer as much as his time-honored high quality it replaced into quite precise as far as i'd desire to tell. His familiar technological expertise books are all very sturdy and clarify the matters in an uncomplicated way without skipping over mandatory information.

You make the assumption that whoever it is you are talking about was referring to Buddhism and without knowing for sure you still feel justified in attacking what you THINK they were talking about? Your display of ignorance is astounding.

Buddhists do not believe in a god, however they do believe in karma and some sort of order to the universe. I would call them deists rather than theists.

There are several religions that are compatible with atheism, not just Buddhism, so even if everything you said about Buddhism was correct (it isn't), you'd still be wrong.

Please -- go into the lion's cage and give that lion a firm whipping. Do it now.

PS: There is no god of our mind. You should not believe in a god of our mind; that would mean that you believe in a false god. Your fictional god will send you to hell for that.

If it is a joke, then your long winded "question" clearly killed the punchline. In fact, the only thing funny here is your indignation and utterly retarded assumptions.
